Ask LegoLee Q&A no. 4

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

On the latest episode of Brickology, LegoLee answers your questions from emails and Instagram.

Good morning, good afternoon and good evening, whenever wherever you're listening. Thank you so much making me a part of your day. My name is Leepal might know me as Lego Lee or Lego Lee three, two nine from facebook, instagram, twitter, Youtube, patrony, name it, I'm all over the Internet and this is the brick Ology podcast, the study of small plastic bricks. How are you doing today? I sincerely hope you were doing well and hopefully your allergies aren't quite acting up quite like mine. Here in North Carolina we are in what I think I'll people called the pollening. There's just pollen everywhere and my eyes are just swollen. I wake up with like Krusty eyeballs and I swear that's just not everywhere. It is not ideal and definitely is not make for great podcast content. So hopefully my voice doesn't sound too bad, but I might not have the crescendo you're used to from me. But with all that out of the way, let's jump into this week's episode of Brick Ology. Now, last week was the official season for finale. If you've been a fan of the show, you would know every single episode of brick ology has a little cap at the end of the season and additional end of the season episode. That is a question and answers segment and we'll talk about that here and just a it. But we just finished season four and I think season four very easily was the biggest and best season of brick ecology yet. I think it went super well. I'm really happy with how the show is going and I recently just hit twenty thousand streams on spotify and I believe about twenty five tho watches, streams, views whatever, depending on the various sites, for bricology in total, which is super, super exciting. And season five is coming out next week. You're not going to have to wait very long. You probably know what that topic is already if you...

...are a follower of the show, but there will be an epic announcement on my instagram page this weekend where I'll announce the entire season of brick ology and all of the topics I will be discussing. So look forward to that. I think it's going to be awesome. And that is an easy transition into shamelessly plugging all of my other accounts on the Internet. Like I just said, go follow me on Instagram, it's Lego lead through to nine at pretty much any of these pages. Also, you can like me on Facebook, following me on twitter, subscribe to my Youtube Channel and consider becoming a patreon supporter. Literally any donation, like one dollar a month. That goes a long way to helping this show and all my other content be as successful as possible. I also have some other podcasts. I have a show called the very manly muppet show that I hosted a buddy from college. Is Only one episode of that out, but it's very fun and on spotify and apple as as well. And I have my entertainment and pop culture podcast known as are you not, which also has its own instagram at are you not podcast. There are four episodes of that. I've been releasing it for the last month or show. I really love that show and I would love if you could listen to that as well. So, like I said, this is the typical end of season cap q and a segment of brick oology, and all of these questions came in either through email or instagram, direct messages, DM's, and I'm being honest with you, guys, I didn't get too many questions this time around. I'm not really sure why. It just seemed like there wasn't that many questions. So the should be a fairly quick and breezy episode of Brick oology. But in some ways that's good for me because I've been pumping out content here. I've been doing two podcasts a week for a long time and when I do these QNA episodes it's very easy for me to make because I just add Lib all the answers rather than reading off the script I usually make for an episode of Brick Ology. It's Super Fun and relaxing and not quite as much work. So it's a good, you know, end of season like relaxing week from me, while still getting a show for you guys to listen to. So that further ado. Let's jump in and read your questions and answer them. So I'll be answering the questions from emails first and we'll jump into the INSTAGRAM DM questions a little bit later. So...

...our first question comes in from Seth, and Seth apparently actually submitted this question for the last que native brick oology like almost half a year ago and I did not answer it. Seth, I sincerely apologize. I'm not sure why. I normally see these sorts of things. I guess I just missed your email. So I am sorry that I missed you last time set, but I will be making up for it this season with answering your questions and seth rights. What is your favorite set from this season of brick oology? And that is a great question. I've never gotten a question like this this season. Specifically, what is my favorite set? And Man, I cut. I'm trying to think of what topics I even talked about this season on brikology. Start off with rogue one. We had monster fighters, we did teenage you Ninja Turtles. This is a really good and stack season of brick ecology. But ultimately we also talked about the Lego Star Wars sets based off episode for and I kind of feel like my favorite set might be one of those. But at the same time I didn't talk about any of the UCS sets because I'm saving UCS star wars sets for their own respective episode of brick oology. Man, I'm kind of drawing a blank on this one, but one that does come to my mind is I said that I absolutely love is the rogue one. Director crinic shuttle. That's hat has an amazing mini figure lineup. It was a great price and a nearly flawless design. The shaping for that vehicle was so well done and I have that set displayed prominently in my Star Wars Collection. So my answer for your question, off the top of my head, is director crinic shuttle from rogue one set asked a couple more questions, so we'll go through them as well. He says, do you sell your Lego and, if so, where to buy them? That is a great question and I do sell some Lego. Now I don't really sell stuff that I want to keep in my collection because I'm a little bit of a horder and I'm a crazy collector and I just can't live without it because I'm honestly and insane him human being. But I do sell some Lego.

Normally Lego I do sell is stuff that I have extras of. So, like I'll buy a bunch of the Lego the Lego store and then give you these, you know, free promotional sets, and occasionally I'll buy things, you know, backtoback I get the same promotional set and then I have two of the same set and obviously don't really need to so I might sell one on Ebay, for example, I just sold a duplicate copy of the Amelia are heart set on Ebay for about like fifty now. Ebay, like I said, that's where you can actually buy some of my Lego. There might be some stuff, listen up there right now. There's also probably some pokemon and you gio trading cards on there as well, but I believe it's Lego lead three to nine yt on Ebay. For some reason Lego lead three to nine was at already selected user name on Ebase. I added yt for Youtube. I made the EB account probably like seven, eight years ago. I've actually been solving stuff on there for quite a long time. So if you want to buy some Lego stuff from me, it's on Ebay or just email me because I have things I probably aren't listed and if you like to see my inventory set, please hit me an email. Maybe I could sell you some stuff on there. If you could either Venmo or PAYPALP me. I would love to do business with you and that way and fire lease set also rights. Finally, want to ask you, out of all the seasons in brick Ology, which has been your favorite set wise and just general favorite? Thank you for your time. Well, thank you so much writing set. That is a great question. One is my favorite season of brick ology. It's got me this last one. I think honestly season and four, because this season I made brick ology longer. I extended it by three episodes, went from ten to thirteen episodes, and I think it is made some really good episodes and had some very fun topics, like I love monster fighters. That was a great episode of Brick Ology. Rogue one obviously the first ever two part episode of Brick Ology, which there's going to be more than one two part episodes of Brig alogy in the next season, so look forward for that. Announced of the first ever two part episode I did was for Star Wars episode four Lego sets, I mean the season of Brick Ology, I think was jam packed. There is tons of great topics. Prisoner of Azkyband. Loved that one as well. It was a great season of brick ology and I think overall it was my favorite and set wise, I don't know...

...set. Why is is a little bit different, because I think the first season of brick ology had some of my favorite sets ever because I talked about Indiana Jones, I talked about pirates of the Caribbean, and normal lego pirates. I talked about toy story and the first season of brick Ology I was talked about NASA sets, which has my favorite set of all time, which is these Saturn five rockets set. So the first season of brick ology might be the most set wise stacked season. But personally I think season four was my favorite season just in terms of the topics I discussed and that season respectively. I think season five I have some awesome stuff, including in just a few weeks the fifty episode of Brick Ology is going to be kind of like a special episode of the show. So season five might usurp season four, but as of right now I probably say season four is my favorite season of brick ology thus far. So we only have one other email to read through today and this comes from Courtney Cannon. Now, courtney has been a fan of the show for probably like a year now. I mean seriously, she is dedicated to a brick ology. So I really appreciate your support, Courtney. It really means a lot. It helps me keep going with this show and I'm going to read her email for you guys here today. So she says hey, Lego Lee. Also, if uses email for your podcast. Please don't mention the above part on your podcast, just the bottom part. Oops. Sorry, so I'm actually just going to cut out all I said right there. There's a weird cut probably this podcast. She I read it, this entire email out loud, and then the very least sentence she said don't read this on the podcast. I didn't read these emails ahead of time. I'm going to keep it in because it's kind of funny. So I'm not going to mention any of the stuff I just read. So I'm sorry for there's probably a odd jarring cut in the podcast. So I kind of cut out what Courtney said. But here are Courtney's questions and thank you so much for submitting them, Courtney. Her questions are as follows. Number One, can you do a Lego movie episode? That is a great question and obviously that has been something on my mind. Not really sure when I'll get to it. Might have to be a two partner because there's lots of sets from the Lego Movement. I love that film so much that I would really...

...want to go all out for a lego movie episode of Brick Oology. But you know what, I say this to everybody who ever asked me if I'll do a topic on brick oology. Look, my goal is by the end of the show, whenever that maybe, hopefully not for a long time. I hope to cover everything. I hope to honestly cover all Lego sets and themes that are pretty much ever come out. Maybe. Besides, like Du Blow, I'm serious, like I want this to be a cohesive catalog, basically like an online dictionary of podcast that goes to the history of all of legos products. So what? Some point in time I'll probably do a lego movie episode. Spoiler alert, that is not one of the episodes I have planned for season five, so it will not be an episode you'll here for at least a few months. So I'm sorry if you were hoping it would be a season five episode. It currently will not. It's not on the pipeline right now, but at some point in time I think I will do a Lego movie episode of Brick Ecology. Her next question is what is your favorite Lego Ninjago set? That's a great question. There's obviously so many great like a Ninjago sets, but to me I don't have any the Najago city set. So those ones don't really count to me because I don't personally own them, which means my favorite set is the temple of Air Jutsu from, I believe, what two thousand and fifteen. That is such a beautiful set of has a great, gorgeous design. I have a prominent as blade at my house back home. It is a great set. I love that set. I love just everything about that set. It's one of my favorite sets of my entire collection. If I'm being real with you, that is probably my favorite Lego N Jago set. The next one is what is your favorite Lego mini figure? I've gotten this question a lot and it's very difficult for me to say because I have thousands, literally over two Tho Lego minifigures and picking from just any one of those is difficult in my opinion. But I think one that I've always loved is the Max Rebo figure. I love Max Rebo as a character and I think they perfectly captured him and Lego minifigure form with a short legs, the note printing on the Blue Body and then the...

...specialized head mold. That was a superb minifigure and is one that I always kind of refert back to for this answer to this question. If I'm being real, I could probably do more research and think heavier about what my favorite Lego figure is, but that is the one that comes to my mind at first. And then what year had the best set? That is another great question. What year had the best sets? And that's hard and honestly, I'm starting to feel like it's just going to be every year from now on. Like what I'm say that I mean Lego just keeps out doing themselves and they keep making more and more and more, and like two thousand and twenty one is an absolutely stacked year for Lego sets. We don't even have pictures of the new marble sets or the New Star Wars sets or the new Harry Potter sets, but all this stuff sound's incredible. So I might just say literally the year that comes next will probably be the best year because Lego is making bigger and better products than they ever had before. So I think we're going to have a lot of great sets coming up here soon. So honestly, I just think this year is probably the best year legos that's ever and the next year will probably usurp that one as all. And thank you so much, corney. Says that, as all can't wait for season five. Thank you so much again for writing all of those questions and I'm glad I caught the little mistake of not including the end of that paragraph. I will not include that in this episode, but thank you again for all the questions you submitted. The following questions I'm going to go through now are from instagram DM's and they are from user names I'll probably mispronounce, but let's go through them. The first one comes from Lego underscore. Amazing. Who writes? Why are you so into Lego and why did your interests for its start? That is a fantastic question and I've got this question a lot and I don't have a specific point in time that I can pinpoint and be like, this is when I started getting into Lego because, if I'm being real with you, I don't remember, because I think I was so freaking young that I literally have no clue exactly the moment in time when I became a lego fanatic.

However, there is a picture of me as a babe, like a tiny little babe, and my brothers are like playing with Lego figures around me and I'm a baby. So honestly, that's probably the moment. And the reason I'm interested in Lego is because I have two older brothers. They both liked Lego, so I kind of inherited that passion from them and I was the youngest one and Lego was huge for me growing up and then I just became like immerse in the world and my youtube channels heard and when I was twelve years old, and from that point on the obsession became more of like a hobby in a pseudo job on youtube and it just exploded into this huge thing for me. Obviously where I am now, where I just have, you know, trows of Lego sets. So that's kind of the origin of my interest in Lego. But I don't have an actual specific answer for that question, but thank you so much for asking. Lego underscore amazing. The next one comes in from Chris J Evans. I'm glad he throus a J in there to specify it's not the Chris Evans, but thank you again. Chris Evans. First me this question. He says what is the most mediocre set in your opinion? That's a great question. The most mediocre set the one that came to my mind immediately is the two thousand and eighteen ultimate clickers series marvel set of the Hulk Buster. That is a set that I was super excited to get and I don't think it's like a terrible set by any means. It has some really cool designs, some cool features and I have it on display. I'm not, like, you know, embarrassed of that set, but it's not perfectly accurate and for like a one hundred twenty dollar big marvel set, they could have made it so much better and it just isn't quite there. It's a little too skinny and tall. Don't quite have the bulk you'd like to see from the Hulk Buster and overall, I just think for a ucs set with thousands of pieces, it was pretty average and it was definitely a bit of a letdown. It could have been a much better set, but instead we just got this kind of like it's all right,...

...it's an all right set. So that, in my opinion, is probably the most mediocre Lego set that I can think of. Thank you so much again, Christie Evans, for that question. The next one comes from Lego underscore frenzies, who writes why some sets have the number of pieces, while some don't have the number of pieces. That is a great question and there's actually a very easy response to that question. If a Lego set is being sold in America's with the USA, Canada and all that fun stuff, it has the peace count listed on the box. I don't know exactly why, but I'm guessing there's probably laws united the states. It had to specify like how many pieces come in a box, so you know, it's actually kind of the contents you're getting. If it's being sold in Europe and around the world, that is not the case, meaning that the piece counts are not listed on the box, which is very interesting to me because obviously, especially if you don't follow Lego like me, you might go to a store and be like, Oh, this said, I know day how many pieces it has and you might buy what could be a very over price set price to piece ratio wise, because you really had done the wiser as to with the piece count of that set. Maybe, but that is the answer to your question. US boxes, America boxes, they have peace counts worldwide. European boxes they ain't got them. So thank you so much, Lego underscore frenzies, for that question. The next one comes from Joe Macula, seven, five, six seven, who says favorite lego clone trooper custom figure. I'm sorry, Joe, I don't have one. I don't really purchase clone army customs or anything of that sort. I respect the heck out of the work those guys do. There are true artists and they make some awesome figures, but it's not really my cup of tea. So I don't have an answer to your question specifically, but thank you for thinking of it and submitting your question to the show. The next question comes from xx Charles Bearishnko off XX. I've no idea if I said that right. There's a lot of characters in that user name. And he says why must my bank accounts suffered to fuel my Lego addiction? Honestly, that could be the tagline of any...

Lego Fan. Lego was obviously wildly expensive and bank accounts are always suffering. I mean, I prioritize buying Lego over buying like food sometimes. I mean seriously, like I am always purchasing Lego when I could be buying like clothes or things I can actually use. I just want to get more and more lego sets. So I relate to you, and the reason is because you said that you are an addict in your fueling your diction. Should know, obviously lego is a pretty decent addiction to have, as much better than be addicted to something that's like could actually hurt you. The only thing is going to hurt you is, of course, like you said, your bank accounts. So you know what you're feeling your addiction with Lego, and I completely relate and sympathize with your problem there. But you know what, man, keep doing it, because having a passion for something like Lego is Super Fun and there's an awesome community of Lego fans out there. And I know sometimes it might seem too expensive, but I think literally, if it brings you joy, like give Lego brings you joy, and you know money doesn't, not having money doesn't, then just buy it, just do it. No one should tell you otherwise. I Love, Love, love Lego. It's great and I understand and sympathize with your problem, but I think you should just keep doing it and let your break account suffer, because you're not personally suffering on the inside, unless you are. If you rather have money, then stop. But it seems like if you're an actual lego addict, you should keep going on and puying all the sets. Thank you so much for that question. I'm not going to reduce name again because there's just too me characters. The next question comes from Jacko. Underscore, maybe underscore, who says favorite Lego set? Ever, are they sually? It cannot answer that question earlier than today's episode. It's this taturn five. That is the Lego set that I always say is my favorite. EFORT, that's set just blew my mind when it came out. I still have on displayed prominently in my room. I absolutely adore that set. To that my answer to your question. And finally, our last question for today comes from Lego kid out two one where he says where do you get all the mini figures you post?...

So he's probably referring to the minifigure pictures I post on my instagram page, and the answer is literally just from buying all the Lego sets. Every single figure I post is a photograph. It is not a stock image. I want to be authentic and post real photography that I make because I just feel like it looks better than posting stock image. Edit. So every figure I post I usually have just gotten in the set it comes in and I don't really buy figures individually. I don't like doing that sort of thing. So that's the way I have all my figures. I literally just buy the Lego sets. I've been collecting for like two decades now, so it's pretty understandable that I would have a lot of lego figure so that is where I get all of my Lego mini figures. Thank you, Lego, kid o two one for that question and thank you all so much for listening. Is Probably gonna be like the shortest episode of Brick oology yet. Not all talk about, not too many questions, but a nice breezy, fun little season ender four, season four brick ology. Stay tuned for that season five announcement. It will be on my instagram page later this weekend. Go find me online. I hope you guys have a fantastic rest of your week and have a great weekend. Piece out God bless but by.
