LEGO Ninjago Rise of the Snakes (2012)

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

In a follow-up to the Ninjago episode from season 1, LegoLee329 continues a journey chronicling all of LEGO Ninjago, specifically focusing in on the sets from 2012; the year that might've seen the themes peak.

...agood morning afternoon, good evening, whenever, wherever you are listening, thank you so very much. Micking me aparty of your day. My name is Lei. Parmy might know me as Legolee or Legole three to nine from facebook. INSTAGRAM twitter Youtube Patreon, youname it. I am all over the Internet, and this is the brick Ology podcast andwelcome back today. I really hope you are doing well today. The world is in avery weird place. Obviously I've mentioned for, like probably tenstraight episodes of brikology about the pandemic, and I hope that you arestaying safe, but also currently, my country, my home country of the UnitedStates of America, there's been a lot of craziness happening and I do notwant to get political on brickology whatsoever. This is a podcast aboutLego, but I just think you know it's something needs to be addressed andyeah I mean I think everybody knows what's going on and we need to do ourbest to kind of help and stop things that are happening. I'm not going toreally take a stance for anything here y'all, but I just hope and pray thatthings can get better here in my country and if you're in othercountries, I'm sure there's other horrible things that are happening, that I'm just completely unaware of the world is a broken place, and I reallyhope that this podcast yeah it's a podcast about Lego, but Lego, issomething for literally everybody, unless I guess you're over, I ninetynine, because they had that meame, where it's like once two tern onehundred, you can't play a lego anymore, but all jokes aside, Lego is foreverybody, and I want to you know, make something that can appeal to literallyanyone in the entire world to welcome back to brickology. It's episode,Seventeen! We are in the middle of season. Two, it's going great. Mystreams are doing really well. I am just absolutely so so pleased with howthis podcast has been going here and I'm excited for this episode. Now, ifyou've been following Birkoge, you know that I alternate EU Trea wet doingbetween doing a license, Lego theme and then an original Lego theme. So lastweek was about Lego. Star War sets based off episode, three Revengo, theCITH, but means by the pattern. This week is an unlicensed original legotheme and for season one episode. Six, I talked about the first year ofLegonanjago, all the Leganan Jago sets that came out in the year two thousandand eleven. This is the sixth episode of season two epside seventeen over allO brickology, and you know what Ninjago is ridiculously popular. It's the mostpopular on license, Lego theme out there and there's a lot of Ninjago, andI want to cover all Obninjago here on this podcast, but covering all of thattheme is going to take a lot of episodes like Ho I'm doing star wars byeach individual, film or TV, seeers or whatnot. I on do the same thing forNinjaco, but I'm going to break it up by seasons or years. So, essentially, what I'm doing here? This episode is going to be called in Jaco, twothousand and twelve. Now some people called this. The third and fourth waysand INJACO. Some ple might call n Enjago seasons two or three justclaimer.I do not watch the Ninjago TV series. I watch some of it back when it firstpremiered back into thousand andleven. I even watched some of the stuff aboutto talk about here in two thousand and twelve w an I was much younger. Butsince then I don't follow the TV series, I'm not familiar with the TV series Lor.I did some research, so I can get. You know my facts right in this episode, but I don't have time to sit down on watching. You know an entire season, anJugo just for one episode of this podcast, so this is going to be a looserepresentation of the show's knowledge, but I have a good knowledge of the Legosets and obviously you know I give em myself this title of brick alogist. Ithink I'm qualified to talk about the sets themselves, so this episodefNinjago is going to be about Ninjago strictly from the year. Two Thousandand twelve, I'm not going to use season numbers, because I know the seasonnumbers get kind of confusing, so essentially, im Gonnta be doing forbrickology. Is I'm gonna be doing Ninjago by year, so the next Tine Jogaepisode, which will be in season three, I'm Goin do one in Jago episode aseasonwill, be Nunjago, two thousand and thirteen, and then season four andin Jago, two thousand and fourteen. I...

...think you guys can catch on to thatpattern there. So this is injago two thousand and twelve, and that is thetopic for this e weeks. Episode of Brakology. Now, as I do often on brickOlogy, I kind of like to set this scene before we actually talk about the setsfrom our particular theme. Now, if you want to know more about Anjogo, listento my first episode about Ninjago from last season season, one episode sixabout Ninjago sets from two thousand and eleven. I covered a lot of thehistory of the theme in that episode, and I don't want to repeat myself hereand I also Dois a lot of brick ology. It's a completely unutterly shamelessplug to listen to an old episode of this podcast, and that is one of my topfive most streamed episode, which is obviously one of the things leading meto doing more and more ninjago episodes. Now I think it's important for me tokind of set this scene for the year that these sets came out in, and thatis two thousand and twelve. I honestly am considering it would be kind ofdifferent, but tell me if you guys would like to hear this. An episode ofBrick Ology, just called Lego, two thousand and twelve, two thouand andtwelve, I think, is probably the best year for Lego. Ever it's seriously.Such an incredible year for Lego was a pretty crazy year for media and stuff. There was a lot of stuff going on in two thousand and twelve and Lego in twothousand and twelve was just off the Shart DC and Marbele superheroes werereleased. That year, which is humongous. Lord of the Ring Sets were release thatyear and the Hobbit sets as well, which are big. For me, my Youtube Chane I'lldefinitely do an episode about Lord of the Rings in the future of Brikology atsome point and then Ninjago now, Anjagu, obviously premier in two thousand andeleven, not two thousand and twelve, but I think thenjago peaked in twothousand and twelve. The popularity of Ninjago in this year was insane inhindsight doesn't seem that weird, because in Jaco has been very popularfor Lego for almost a decade now I mea next year, will be the ten yearanniversary of the theme, and it was really big in two thousand and eleven, but I think it exploded in two thousand and twelve to what I would callunprecedented levels like these sets were flying off the shelves. They werelegitimately hard to find in some of the spinners that will talk about later. In this episode, specifically the Green Ninja Spinner, I mean that thing was ahot compodity that was like goal. People found that Spinnar and Panfolwill scalp them up and sell them for ridiculous prices on Ebay. It wasreally weird because that doesn't happen a whole lot with Leo. Usuallyyou know, lego saids. Can Be popular but the not super hard to find, butthese nimjago sets in two thusand and twelve were huge. I remember so manyyoutube channels really jumped on this opportunity. Like my channel, some ofmy videos from this year got tons of you. Men, injacko videos from twohusand and welve got so many views and lots of Youdu channels really just grewand exploded and popularity because of Ninjago set reviews. It kind of becamelike a craze and getting the JADACO's hits earlyet toyor us was like a reallyintense thing. That was, you know how you got noticed. If you were a LegaYoutuber, I would say it was a phenomenon. I don't know. Ninjago isreally much of a phenomenon anymore. It's stol very populatar, but you knowthings aren't flying off the shelves like they were and it's insane it'sjust such a crazy level of popularity. For this theme, Two Thousand and twelveforn an Jugo was its peak in terms of popularity. Now I don't think it's thebest year of Ninjago in terms of set quality. There's some kind of weirdsets this year and we're going to talk about them all on today's episode ofBrickology, but in terms of just pure popularity, people were obsessed, itwas absolutely wild. It was like pandemonium trying to get these setfrom stores. Now before we talk about the actual sets, we can talk about thestory shift, so the first season in Jago, the bad guys are Gamadon who doesreturns. O garberdon is a consistent villain through pretty much all ofinjago still today, but the bad guys. The first season Injago were thoseskeletons. The second season which the...

...name of this season was called rise ofthe snakes and we get a bunch of snake people and will talk about themthroughout. All of these sets, additionally, the Ninja kind of changedup themselves. They were all given new gear pieces, the first wave of LegananJago Nijaz, all e Ninja, pretty much used the classic Lego Ninja. Look. Theyhad updating, no more modern, printing and whatnot, but they use the classicLego, Ninja, headdress peace, and that's the only time that has reallybeen used. Besides a couple of random cambacks in various sets forn INJAGOfor this year. They completely did away with that hedgeross piece. They gavethem a brand new Ninja piece and they also gave them a shoulder attachmentwith pauldrins and a spot on the back. That could hold two catanas verysimilar to the peace from the Prince of Persia sets and there will be NEPsabout princs of Persha at some point through a house of brickology, andthese Nanga were given the title, Ninja Zx, which is very interesting, so lotsof new pieces, and there was a new item to collect. I remember somebody pointedout n the Commont section for my last Anjaga episode that I forgot to mentionthe golden weapons. I apologize for completely missing that very importantdetail in the last injogo episode of Brick Ology. So I'm going to rememberthis time and Jako always has these mcguffin chase items to get and collectthroughout the sets kind of like Atlantas. Had the keys Lego. Does thisall the time and for this one we had thes snake staffs. It was a brand newsnake staff piece that had heprinted one by one circle tile in the centerand I believe the circle towe was actually a brand new piece at thispoint in time. ND, remember being like really higed about this piece and it'sa you know very commonly used piece today. That's kind of weird thinkingthat it was actually no brand new, not that long ago, great peace, great snakestaff and really cool items to collect and for the second way they had thesefag daggers. That will talk about that aren't nearly as cool as these snake, staps and Thi Snake stashs are kind of weird and repetitive a you see themthroughout a lot of these sets. But those were the items o chase after andcollect in these sets. So without further ado, now we can jump in andtalk about all of the Legod Ninjago sets that came out in the year. TwoThousand and twelve. Now there's a lot. There's a lot of products like arelease: Fortinjogo Tilsom, twelve. There was tons of Polli bags and thingsof that sort. I don't really mention polly bags here in brick, Ollogy, because it takes up time. Ani Really, don't think you know people care aboutsurprofless details of that sort. So we're going to start off by talkingabout all of the normal box. Sets then we'll talk about some of the boosterpacks and blister cart sets towards the end of today's episode. Got It okay, cool, let's jump into the first way of Ninjago sets that came out in thewinter of two thousand and twelve. Now, when its saying winter, Tais and twelve,it's actually more so November, two thousand and eleven, because I actuallygot some of these sets at toys Arrus in November of two thousand and eleven, but on brick set and Brikipedia, they are still counted as two thousand andtwelve then Jago set. So they count for this episode and, like I does that allthe time mean obviously no cars. Do this too, like you know, you can get atwo thousand, an twenty one model of a car in two thousand and twenty. So,even though these sets were kind of released in two thousand and eleven, they still count as two thousand and twelve, an en Jago sets the first set.The small is set for seven dollars with eighty six pieces. Really good pieacecap by the way is the Vinnamari shrine. This one came with Zane. You also gotthe Vinemari Stafh, but there was no snake figure little bit of a left downthat this set had no figure for Zane to fight, but did have a pretty neat build, had a printed snake head, the top with a holder for the Venemari snake staff, and it had this snake launching play feature. They made this new snake piecefor this wave. That was a little bit different from the Og Lego snake piece. It had more detail and kind of like a King, Cobra SK SHAPE, and there was acool feature in the set where you pushed a button and it launched some ofthese snakes at Zin. This was a very solid seven dollar impulse set for thisfirst wave. Okay for fifteen, with one...

...hundred and eighty eight pieces, we hadkis blade cycle, of course, an included Ky. You also got Ratla, who is arattlesnake variant for these snake figures, very cool? You got the HipnoBrid. Hopefully I pronounce these names, perrectly the Hipnot bry snake staff, and this set you might have guessed it. I complain about those all the time andmy legof reviews on y Youtube, channel and IGTV. It came with an oversizedmotorcycle build for Kai and in Jago I mean this was not the first oversizebotorcycle. They had one of the first Erin Jagaas, not the last Orne you'regoing to hear about today. The JAGO loves these othersites metorcyclesthey're, still doing like one or two a year, and so many other lego themeshave followed suit. With these ridiculous motorcycle builds, but youdid get an oversized motorcycle build Forkai this one. It was really beefy. It was had lot of cool curve pieces. It looked pretty good, but it was likeextremely large, but it had a very cool transformation play feature where bothsides can open up to reveal some blades like somle addd weapons, which was acool play feature, and it also kind of helped the lore. But, being you know,Kais Blade cycle after all, and the side buill for this set was a smallshrine, stiedside build that could hold the hypnobrize snake staff, and thisset was actually remade for an injugo legacy just last year in two thousandand nineteen. However, it looks a good bit different in the remake. I'dactually say that remake is worse than this version and it's a lot smallerwe're not going to focus on the remix here, but if any of these sets wereremade at some point, the future. I will talk about that throughout today'sepisode of Brickology, Okay for twenty ars o two hundred forty two pieces, nother very good price erpiece. We have jays storm fighter, of course, andinclude J, and you also got the snappo steak steak snake figure and this onecame with the Fang Pire snake staff, and this was a jet plane build for Jythat had a interesting, very similar feature: Tho Kai's, blade cycle whereHou could push a button at the back and the wings kind of opened up to revealsome hidden blades, not sure how the blades would help. This thing flybecause the wings are actually completely change shape and I think it'make the vehicle a lot less erodynamic if it were a real vehicle, but it was acool mechanism. Nevertheless- and this was a very good set for twentylars- Itwas a very large design and I actually bought this set myself back in Novemberof two thousand and eleven, and I believe I was one of the first people,if not the first person, to review this on Youtube at the time. It's one of mytop ten most viewed videos ever with over thirty eight thousand views. That's just an illustration of how popularand huge injago was at this time. This set also came with a small side, build of a shrine that could hold thestaff, and this set, like Kays Blade Cycle, was remade in two thousand andnineteen. However, the remake of this set was actually forty dollars. It had,I think, about twic as many pieces. It was actually pretty sodd deal, but itwas much bigger than the original version from two thousand and twelvenow for thirty dolar from this line with three hundred and twenty sevenpieces, anotherr very good, pric or piece were offer a good start with theprassor pieces for this way, which is not going to continue later on. In thisepisode we had the Ratl Copter love the name, and you can kind of guess whatthis vehicle is. It is a helicopter for the snakes and this kind of introducesus to the snake color scheme. The snake color scheme is lime, green, dark, green and purple a very striking colors scheme. It looks very, very interesting, and you know what I don't love it. It's not my favorite color scheme, lime,Green as like the main base. Color is a bit obtrusive to the eyes. If you askme, but it was bold and they had some good designs for the snake heads now. This in particular, came with Kai Kay...

...had the only sidebild in the set, whichwas a jet pack that went on his back. They actually use some snow shoes aslittle wings, pretty cool little jetpeck build. You also got fings sway, have no idea if I said that name correctly and Lelloyd, or just LloydGarmadon, which will talk more about that character later on. In today'sepisode and you got the Constricti Hi snake staff, I might have completelybuthered that name yet again. This is a cool build. It had a cool feature forspinding, the roters of the helicopter. It looked pretty cool, but again thatcolor scheme is kind of ridiculous. Now, for forty dolars from this first linein two thousand and twelve, we had cols tread a salt. Forty Bucks, two hundredeighty six pieces way. That's pretydisappointing, because the lastset was thirty. With three hundred twenty seven pieces, this one's fortywas less parts than the thirty dollar set. Now I will say I did have this set. It's a big kind of Batmobile Asqu, looking vehicle for coal, a big youknow ground base vehicle. It was a large vehicle and oesly. I think fortydollars was a completely fair price for how big the vehicle was itself, butthat Priture piace is still a pretty big oof on this set. It included coal,of course, and scales very original name, for that figure in scales was avery cool snake piece. It's the first time we're going to talk about thesespecialized snake bottom legpiece. Here now, Lego has done some specialized legpieces in the past. You know mermaids from the parts of the Caribbean linefrom Toy Story. Woodi had those long legs and his a first appearance. Theyhave short legs, they have midlegs. Now there are a lot of custom leg pieces, this one in particular, which they did use later on a CLITL minifigure seriesfor Maduso figure from I think series ten had a snake bottom leg piece, soit's kind of like a Centar, but instead being you know, half horse, it was ahalfsnake person. All this was a fullsnake person with arms and legsvery weird, but it was a very cool bottom leg piece. This one came withthe Hypno Bri steak staff, which we've already seen in this wave, and this wasa very striking looking vehicle lots of interesting angles and the one thing Inever understood, though, is called cols tread assault. When you hear theword tred, you think of treads now, technically speaking, vehicles do havequote, unquote tread on them, so it's not a completely inaccurate name. o Meawheels have tread on them. This thing was a big wheeled vehicle had bigrubber tires and it did not actually have tread, so that was kind of a weirdname. For the name of this particular veheicle. Remember one of these namesleaked back. In the day I was like. Oh that's, gointo be like a tank for coldti'll, be interesting, and then it it wasn't a tank, it's just kind of like aBatmobile, but it had a very cool play feature the cockpit in the center andthe rest of the vehicle. Pretty much could completely spit around. You couldspin around the whole thing and you could disguise this vehicle as a snakevehicle on the underside. It had those lime green pieces, so it was like anincognido undercover vehicle for call. It didn't, wasn't a super convincingcell, but it looked pretty good and it was a very valiant effort for anextremely different play feature from Lego. That's a cool play feature, evenif it's not perfectly executed. The effort still has to be applauded withthis coals tredassault set for fifty dolars from this way, but four hundredand fifty two pieces we had the fan, pyer truck ambush. This set included J,Zane, Fang Dam and Fang Tom. These were very cool figures. They had again thata forementioned snake leg piece and their head pieces were cool becausethey had two snake heads each on the end, very cool, looking figures, andeven though I don't remember a whole ot about the show, didn't watch it toomuch. I remember these carracters being pretty funny in the show itself andshocker. The fingpire truck ambush came with the fingpire snake staff, and thiswas another big snake vehicle. One of the biggest thinkof goes: it might bethe biggest snake vehicle actually at...

...least in terms of peace count. It was abig snake truck had the head of a snake and it had some storage in the middleand then a cockpit, and then it had a big snake tail and welake about theplay features here. It had a champing feature where you could quoteunquoteeat the ninjeof figures. It also had suspension towards the back and it hada whipping tail feature that we've seen on all sorts of legosets from Ninjago, especially like for dragons and such so overall, a very cool vehicle- and thisis a pretty big vehicle- actually still believe. I have this one built in mycollection and the side vehicle in this set, though, was Zane's vehicle. Hekind of got the SHAF when it comes to the vehicle. From this way, if hisvehicle was a very small snow, mobile S, vehicle that use one of thosetransparent, blue kind of icy looking pieces at the front, it looked prettygood, but it was really small but actually kind of. Strangely, that smallZane vehicle was actually remade into thousand and nineteen, and it waspackaged together with the formentioned kis blade cycle set. They came togetheras one thirty dollar then Jigo set, which I think is pretty interesting. Now, let's talk about the biggest set from this first wave Nanjako for twothousand and twelve, and that is destinies bounty, eightydoars, sixhundred and eighty pieces, and oddly enough of all of these wide release, sets in this first wave. This is the only one I didn't get. I don't rememberlike collecting these super religiously, but I almost completed this entirefirst wave of Ninjago set fertisan twelve, which is pretty cool, an it's acool collection. I wish I definitely have them in a ben somewhere thathaven't been completely destroyed, so I might be able to dicg them up, butthey're. Definitely not one hundred percent. All together. Now this descnesbounties set included Kindoki and Zan. The kindo figures are kind of liketraining armor for the ninjaawesome new pieceas, at least a new helmet piece, and they use the Old Samurai armor piece from Lego from the s. This hadalso included SINCEA, Woo scales, Slithera and Lord Garmadon, and it camewith the Hypnobri snake staff, and this is also the first ever incarnation. OllThe destinies bounty ship from Nunjaga, which TESTU's bounty has been a veryprevalent vehicle, Ford and Jago throughout the years, and there's beenplenty of different versions of this ship throughout Ninjagos Lore, and thisparticular one had big cloth sales that were Awso of wings. So there's afeature so thay could fold up and there's also a feature that kind ofrevealed these jets towards the back of this ship to convert this from a salebolt into a flying vehicle, which is a coll play fuature, and this set isactually getting remade as we speak. I believe it's available in Europe nowfor Ninjago legacy. It's like a hundred, an thirty ollars. It has almosttwoousand pieces, but they just remade this destinies bounty nd. You can getit now, so it's been rag we made for summer of two thousand and twenty.Maybe I should get that set it's really expensive, but would you like to seereview of it? Please tell me an that comments below or sit me a message orsomething on Instagram Eo yere listening on spodify. So, if you are,you know, tell me Fif Li to see review. That said because I feel like I need adestinees bouncing my collection. I've missed out on the past few versions.Unfortunately, now there are a couple of more set to talk about from thewinter way. Well talk about the booster packs and the spinners, like I said, towards the end of today's episode, but there are a couple more sets. Thesesets were special edition sets, however, for twenty five doars with two hundredand fifty five pieces, we had the Fang Pyer MEC, it included Kindo Col and theFang sweet minifigure. Now kindo coal was advertised as an exclusive figure, which I find very interesting because you're going to hear his name here verysoon, he actually wasn't an exclusive figure, but he was advertised as suchon the box, but I guess it's just technically his weapon, which was justa combination of existing pieces that was quote unquote: exclusive andspeaking of weapons. Fang Sui was a cuict of the banana that that was fhingsuee's weapon in the set now things, so...

...he does have the the Mac, which is youknow, obviously, the main build of the sed, but his side weapon that he'sholding on the box is a banana which is kind of weird, not entirely sure whatwhat's going on there. Also, this set didn't include a snake staff which iskind of strange to be weird. This, like the ones that you got from the line youdidn't get the snake staff. That's very odd. Also it's a snake meck and when Ihear snake Mac I would think you look like a snake which it kind of does fromthe top. It has the big snakehead and has a tail, but it also has the onething that snakes are like famous for not having like a pindages. It hasfreaking arms and legs. It cracks me up that Lego made a snake meck that hasarms and legs. It seems like this would have made so much more sense if it wasjust like you know, a big snake, but instead it's a snake with arms and legs,a by pedal snake with two arms. I don't really know what to say to thatone. I did not get this set, however, for forty dollars we had a four hundredeighteen piece: spinner battle arena set that came with Kindo, Kai and Ratlawith their respective spinners. This set include a battle Arrena, verysimilar to the version that I mentioned in the episode about Lega Onjago fromtwo thousand and eleven, but it did have these cool sidebuilds. There was adragonhead and a snakehead that had like a feature where could like pushdown te button and it would kind of stop and try to get the spinners likeoff balance in the arena when you were like doling your friends or whatever sopretty cool play feature, and actually the builds for those looked pretty goodas well. It also included a shrine for the Vinamar Venemari Venamari, yes,Vinamari, snake staff and a small weapons wreck as well. Finally, for thewinter wave we had what is probably my favorite set for two thousand andtwelve in Jago, the Fang Pire Reckang Ball. Sorry for my awful singing again like Idid in Thi Scobi do episode a few weeks ago. This is, though, the fangpirewrecking ball. Fifty Bucks four hundred fifteen pieces. It was a toysarrestrest in plice, true exclusive. It came with Kindo Col, who is not so exclusiveto that said. He was exclusive to just a minute ago. You also got fingdam andLloyd Garmadon and it was a big snake shaped recking ball. I can't think oftoo many Lego sets to include recking balls. To begin with, this is probablythe only Ninjaga wrecking ball, at least to my knowledge and the reckingboatself. It was big. He was a ton of big pieces, it had treads and it usethe power miners wheelpieces put together to make the wrecking ball. Itwas a crazy thing. It was absolutely humongous. The playability was greatand it's a snake wrecking ball. I mean that's just so utterly lidiculous thatI loved it. This is my personal favorite Ninjaco set from two thousandand twelve now, one of the reasons W on of my personal favorites, because Ididn't get a lot of the bigger sets here about to talk about in the summer, but of all the sets I got personally, this one was the best, but now we canmove on to these summer wave that came out around May June of two thousand andtwelve. Now this wave was huge. This was the wave that really, I think, justspart, a ton of craze for these Ninjigo seds. There are tons of videos aboutthese sets on YouTube, ith, hundreds of thousands of views. I remember therewas a kid I don't remember, ea like brick boy or something who gothunongous on Youtube by reviewing these sets and he became buddies of mine onsky. This is a very weird little story, so I got kind of close to this kid andhe got ridiculously popular right off the bat from reviewing these dinjagosets early and somehow, despite the...

...fact that he was like twelve, he hadmoney to get all of these sets, but for some reason he decided to quit youtube. He told me that he couldn't handle the cyber buwling. He was get on Youtube. The trols were in full force on his videos, so he just completely quit thecraft all together, very weird tail about that. If any of you guysremembered that, please let me know it was a weird summer summer, two thousandand twelve was Humongis for Lego and thes sets. We're about to talk about. Here are a big reason for it. Also, as I mentioned kind of towards thebeginning of this. Instead of the snake Sass, we got the Fang Blades, which arejust a toothpiece on a light server blede with the same printed tiles onthe underside of the bled. They were not super exciting Aweso I got none ofthese sets like I got most of the sets from the Wenth youraway. For somereason, I guess I was just too busy collecting the Lord of the rings and aVingur sets of the time I did not get any of these summer. Two Thousand andtwelve INJAGO sets looking back. I should have because it would havereally helped out my youtube channel, but at the time I did not the first set.The only said that I don't really think anyone cares about is Alashas bye cycle. This was a twenty five dollar set with two hundred and fifty pieces. Oh, it'sa perfect price for peace which is beautiful to see they said, includedlasha and Col and lasha was a green snake figured had the Vinemari FangBlade and it's an oversized motorcycle, but this time for the snakes. Itactually worked pretty well because it just kind of looked like a snake, butit had a couple of wheels and it could roll around and Yen Naw whip its tail.So not a bad thing. It did have a small side build for cold that was like atiny little blacksmith shop with weapons rack, an an annvil but they'reno covering or anything. It was a pretty underwhelming sidebuild as theycome, but you know gotta get predit to Liko, for you know actually, includingsome semblance of a side build in this set now for fortydollars from this wavewith two hundred now four hundred and fifty two pieces. So a good presurepiece is the Samurai Mac. This set include Samurai X, who was later onrevealed to be the Characternia Bitar and snake, not snake, Snike, just snake, with an ions of an a very creative name there lego and at the time of release. This was the only Lego Ninjaga set ever to not include at least one Ninjafigure now the character NEA has since gone on to become one of the Ninja, butat this time she was referred to as Samurai x. This one also included theConstricti Ki Fang Blade, and it was a big Meck for Samurai X, I kind of saysis like the Og Manjago Meclego seems to release like at least one in Jogo Mec ayear this time and the Mex are all usually pretty cool, and I have a fewof them myself. They tiden MEC that came out to s anineteen is a fabulousset that I love and have on display in my room. Currently, I love Ninjigos Mexand I think a lot of those sets kind of owe some credit to this set. This waslike the Ninjago MEC that paied the way for all other Nanjago mix and had somereally creative part usage, a good head design that used the prince of Pershakind of dome pieces that looked really cool and it used the train. Like railguard the front of a train piece as shoulder pads, there were some greatuses. Ofparts there was a cannon on the shoulder. This is just all around areally cool set. You also got a side build for your snakes. It was a smallcatapult that could launch the snake figures in both of these snake figureswere on the shorter side. They actually had these short legs and you can launchthose snake figures. Hat's the Meck, pretty fun little play feature, andthis was a very popular set. I think a lot of people love today and got quitea few votes where, as one of the best set from this line, didn't win we'lltalk about that set later on in today's episode, but it did get a lot ofmentions and this set was remade in two...

...thousand and nineteen for fifteen bucks.Yeah. You heard that correctly. This forty dollar set was remade for afifteen dollar set. That's just super small and uses tiny ball joints kind ofweird, and I think that actually made a lot of people mad. Personally, I don'treally mind them, making small fifteen dolar Mex sens, because I love smallLego set there. You know cheap and kind of impulse bys, but I can see whypeople would want a new version of this neck because it's so cool and they didmake a new version, but the new version is way smaller, not nearly as coollooking, so that is kind of a letdown okay. It's time to talk about the twobig boys from this wave of Ninjago. These sets were ridiculously popularthey're still popular today and they kind of pave the way for future nijagoendeavors for eightydollars. With six hundred and twenty two pieces, we hadthe ultra Sonic Raider. This set was the first injago set from this way toinclude all four Ninjas that were equipped with their golden weapons thatwe saw from these season, one Ninjago set in two osand and eleven, so you gotky j, Col and Zan. With this set, you also got Spitte and these snake vialaintitled, Pithor, P, Chumsworth, very funny name for that character. What iscalled Pythor for short for the rest of the tays episode, and this was a bigvehicle, one of the bigger ground vehicles for Ninjago. At the time ithad some big treads at the front and at the back it had a big wheel. So I hadlike two sets of treads and then one big wheel towards the back, giving itkind of like H, is shape more like a t cross shaped vehicle with a very bigwheel at the back, and this thing was packed: the Brim with weapons. Therewere weapons all over this vehicle design, giving it a very striking andintimidating, look and one part could detach making this a flying vehicle aswell, and some wings could fult off from that ND. It was actually a verygood to and one where the second vehicle looked pretty good. The theoriginal vehicle also look pretty sod without that vehicle on it's back andhen again. This is a widely popular release, set they kind of remade. Thisset more revanted, I believe in twothousand and sixteen not aDirectremagas. I don't really count it. It's not a injago legacy set, but avery cool vehicle, lots of great playability features and this one yetagain got a lot of votes for the best set from Ninjaco to thousand and twelve, but it didn't win one set one, and that is the next set we're going to talkabout, and that is the epic dragon battle. This set retail for one hundredand twenty dollars, making it one of the bigger Denjigo sets at the time ithad nine hundred fifteen pieces, not a very good price for piece, but thissetincluded the Green Ninja who, briefly at the time, was exclusive to this set,and the Green Ninja was the aforementioned Lloyd, and this is likethe big review that Lloyd was the Secret Green Fifth Ninjois in bigstoryline plot point in that season of Ninjago as well. In addition to Lloyd, you also got J Sinse, wo, asidicus, scalador and Chakin. Some very coolsnake figures as well, and this set lives up to its name, epic DragonBattle. It actually is a battle. There were three builds in this set. Therewas a decent size. Snake Shrine include what this set that could hold the FangBlade, but you also got the great devour, which is like the main snakevillain, which is a big snake, build which is pretty cool and then, ofcourse, you got the ultra dragon itself, which was a fourheaded white and greendragon, and the foreheads were the heads from all the dragons we saw withthe two thousand and eleven Ninjago set, which is pretty cool, and these dragonheads were all recolored and white, but...

...still had a symblance of their originalcolor, making them very unique, and this dragon had a handle at the backfor easy playability. You could pick it up very easily and even had a featureto flap its massive wings. This thing was a pretty crazy design and kind of.Oddly this set was remade in two thousand and nineteen and ironically, the remake was a smaller set. It was an eighty five dollar set, but actuallyhad more pieces at nine hundred and fifty one. Now the remake was just theDragon. The shrine and the great devourer were not remade. Just thedragon was remade and instead of using the big rubbery dragonhead pieces, theyuse in this tills and twelve set. They brick built the dragonhead pieces forthat year. It was a very cool set, though I kind of want that said, maybeif I see it on sale or something at some point, I might actually have topick that one up, because it's a really cool set- and this set, like I said, was voted on by my fans as the best and Jago set of two thousand and twelve. You know, I think, there's some tough competition for it, but it's definitelya cool set and it's very striking and unique and there's a ton of stuff goingon with this set. So I have no issue with this set winning that title, sothat's it for normal box sets. Now we can talk about the spinner and boosterpack sets now. I could spend hours talking about each spinner outlooks onthe specific accessories and cards it comes with. I don't really think any ofyou guys want to know that information. If you want to know more about thesespinners just take. I check out brickset or Bikapedia to of by biggestsources that I use for this podcast when writing the scripts. But let'stalk about these spinners now the spinners were a hot commodity. At thistime they ere flying off shelves. It was hard to find these spinners at toysar us. They really like seriously flew off the shells. People were scalpingthem and selling them for a lot more on after markets. Now, let's talk aboutthese spinner sets. There was a box spinner set for twenty Dar with twohundred d nineteen pieces, the spinner training set. It came with Kindo, Kaiand his spinner, and it had a small training wall and it had a weapon'sreck. That's about it, not a whole lot going on there. Twenty Bucks twounerNacteen pieces. Let's move on. You also had these starter set, which was ablister pack, which was pretty much the exactone concept, as these starter setthat came out into thousand and eleven that twosand eleven sert set didwonders. FROR me over a hundred thousand views y youtube channel. I didnot get this second starters set because I wasn't a big collector of thespinners, but this starter set here came with twenty dolars. Twenty dollarset had sixty two pieces and it came with coal and Ratla on their respectivespinners. Okay, those are kind of the outlier sets for the spinners. Nowthere are the ten dollar spinner sets that are all in blister packs and we'regoing to rad off all of the names. Here we had kyzx Lasha, Kindozane SNAPPASamuraix an easier way to get her from her original, the bigger set we hadfing Swi, Spitta, Fing Dam, slitera and then Lloyd, Zx, which is the iconicGreen Ninjus spinner. This Creenin, just spinner, was like the holy grailof Lego sets at this time it was humangos. People were chasing afterthis spinner set. It was hard to come by. It was hard to get. Luckily, Iactually got one of these green injest spinners at toys, arrest like when theyfirst put it out on shelves, and I reviewed an I'm pretty happy with thatand Actualy was able to get one of these sets. I remember people were likefighting over this thing, paying like seventy dollars for t on Ebay and theprices of these spinners. Now seald in Ebay is still extremely high, crazy, crazy thing and I'm not really sure why Lego did away with the spinners in twothousand and thirteen want to talk about in the next episode of LegaNonjaga, which will be a very interesting one in season three ofbrickology. Now there are a couple more spinners I want to mention. These arethe INR g spinners. These ones came...

...with completely exclusive figures ofthe Ninja in their quote: Unquote, Inr g form not energy. It's just theletters in r Ng, which is also a company that sponsors the HougstonTexans Football Seum, but the NRG spinners- and these are basically likethe Ninja, but one elemental, color, with some really cool printing to kindof show off that element that had some metallic kind of details here and there. These were really fantastic. King spinners and I collected all three ofthese. We got nrgj who was completely blue. What really cool energy coal wascompletely black. With some orange highlight details and energy Zane waslike a sky blue with some white details and Jays details were edded on and kindof, like a limish, green, really fantastic figures and finally, for twothousand and twelve INJAGO sets. We have the booster packs. I believe thisis the only year that ever got Lego, Ninjago booster packs. They werefivedollars each and they were essentially the spinner sets minus thespinner. So you just got a small little booster. That was like a small plasticbag. You could open it up. You got five trading cards, you got a mini figureand you got a bunch of accessories and weapons that you could equip onto thespinners and the figures in the spinners, but there were no spinners, but it was an easy way to kind of expand. Your spinner collection and thebooster packs were Kindo Col, Lloyd, Garmedon, jzx, Zane, zx, Mesmo, Bitar,Lazaru and Kindo j. That was a shop at home Promo back in the day. So thoseare all the booster packs and pets it Yo. That is all for Ginjago, twothousand and twelve injago season to.
