LEGO Star Wars The Clone Wars

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

On this episode of Brickology, LegoLee dives deep into the world of Star Wars The Clone Wars, breaking down the complicated history of the series and the LEGO sets based off it.

Andgood morning, good evening, goodafternoon, whenever, wherever you're listening, thank you so much for makingme a part of your day. My name is liparm might know me as Legolee orLegolee Threeo. Nine from facebook, twitter instagram Youtube Patreon, wherever you name it, I'm all over the Internet, and this is the brick Ologypodcast the study of small plastic bricks and think you guys somuch areturning in today. This is the fourth episode of Brick Ology. Unfortunately,I missed last week's recording a brickology. I wanted to do a podcast, but I ended up going out of town and I have an absolutely horrible excuse. Thereason I did not record an episode of Brick Ology last week is because I wasat Disney World Yeah. That's he that's seriously. My excuse. I didn't recordbrickology because I was at Disney road pretty selfish, but worth it absolutelysuper fun time at Disney, but brickology is not about Disney. It isabout Lego, but we are Goin t mention Disney today in this episode of BrickOlogy, and this is the fourth episode of Brick Ology and you know I feel, like four- is actually a more significant number than you might think, because when you make three, so you makes three movies, it's a trilogy andusually trilogies the end right. You have your trilogy and that's it youmove on, but once you have a fourth movie, it's like all of a sudden you gofrom being a trilogy to a series and now you're really talking like there's.A lot of movies like for is a lot of movies in a series. So the fourthepisode of brick, Ology kind of makes me feel like hey. You know what we'remaking it like we're here. Bricology is officially a podcast series. We have adecent sample size catalogue and I'm pretty happy about that, and I've beenvery pleased with how the first few episodes have gone. The views onYoutube, not great, but the spitify Streem. I think we're over a hundredand forty streams right now which to some people probably sounds likeabsolutely nothing. There are people who get a hundred forty streams aminute on their podcast, but I literally just started this I'm fairlynew to the PODCAST game and I'm pretty happy with the response. I've gottenthus far and I'm very excited about the episode of brickology. I have preparedfor you guys today. Now I mentioned this on last week's episode of BrickOlogy. I also mentioned it on the second episode of Brick Ology as well.I want to keep brick Ology as topical as I possibly can. Now there are onehundred percent going to be some weeks where there's nothing topical to talkabout sometimes weeks are just boring and nothing new comes out in the worldof entertainment or the word of Lego- and you know next week might be anexample of that, and you have to wait and see what next week's episode orbrickology will be about. However, this is not one of those weeks. This week isactually has a very, very topical thing: It's not like the weapon episode. Twoweeks ago, about NASA, where it's like well Lego, just at least one Nassaset,so I'm going to talk about net said no this week. A whole thing is launchingand that's the reason why I'm talking about it, you might know what I'mcatching on. Obviously, if you seen the title, you know what's up this week'sepisode of Brick Ology is about Lego, Star Wars, the clom wars in honor ofseason, seven of the clumwars coming out to day February, Twenty firstFriday February, Twenty fint two thousand and twenty today is therelease date for Star Wars, the clome wars season, seven on Disney, plus anan honor of that I'm talking about all the Lego sets based off star wars, theclome wars. Now here real quick right before I actually jump into the meat ofthis episode. I do kind of want to answer a question that I've gotne a fewtimes from a few viewers. A couple people have asked me, especially afterI did my first episode on these set paced off episode, one of Star Wars, the Phanto Munis people asked me Hey Lee. Are you going to do all f? TheStar Wars, movies, Lego, brickology episodes in order chrynologicallyinitially. I said yes, however, because the clum wars is coming out today and Ihave not got an opportunity to record the attack of the clones episode, I'mgoing to break the chronologic order just for this episode. So after thisepisode, the next star was episode will be about attack of the clones and we'llget back on track with the chroological order of things. But for this weekwe're just going to BREAG IT by jumping ahead one series on doing the clumwarsbefore attackof the clones, but don't worry everything will be in acharnological order from here on out...

...now here an brick ology I like to breakdown kind of the history of the thing I'm talking about before I dive intothe Lego sets based off it and there's a very interesting history surroundingthe clum wars. TVR series it's actually more in depth than you might think. Nowthe CLOME war showed that I'm mostly going to focus on in this episode. Isthe cartoon network show that a lot of Yall, my viewers? Now grew up withincluding myself and, of course, I'm Goin to talk about that in just aminute. However, there's actually a show that preceded that they had theexact same name called Star Wars, the clonwars that premiere in the year twothousand and three utisand three was exactly one year after episode toattack the clones at come out. So You know Collin troopers and all these youknow Jedi and all this stuff. The battles between clones anddroids wasvery prevalent in the media, so lucas film capitalized, with his animateseries about the clone words and, of course the clone wars, is somethingthat's been referenced literally since the beginning in Star Wars, Lore andepisode, four Luke references, obion and the Clon wars, which is veryinteresting, and I don't know if George Lucas had this all planned out wherethe clun wars was literally going to feature clones of Cengo fet as Jupers.Who knows the answer to that question, but the clon wars was somethingmentioned in the original trilogy of Star Wars and finally, in the prequaltrilogy. We had that explain to us what the Colom wars is h. The War Fot withColome troopers now the original animated series of the clenwars is verydifferent. I mean vastly different an the series that you're all used to thisseries came from the creators of Samurai Jeck Samuri Jack is anabsolutely fantastic cartoon. Show that also came on cartoon network intheearly twosands that I watched a good bit, it's kind of a darker and edgiercartoon. I think they even release some neuer seasons. Recently they were likevery dark and edgy. It's a more serious cartoon and it's highly, I meanseriously highly stylized. Now the Clun wars has always been a pretty style.Lihe show well talk about the animation of the more normal clumwar series lateron in this episode, but the clumbars has always had kind of stylizedanimation, but the original clemwars had extremely stylized animation wasactually the same style of animation that Samurai Jack was everyone. Hasthese very angular faces r lots of straight lines and ninety degree angles?Everything is very angular and it was too danimated and it kind of looks likeAnnama, but it also has its own unique twist on thing. So it's not just likeAnnama and the way the characters move is very fast and weird: it's notsupernatural or fluid. It's extremely stylized, I'm honestly kind ofsurprised and kind of love. The fact that Lucas film completely okayed thisbecause I feel like Lucas Soln, could have been like wait a second. Thislooks weird and Wack. You Ire not sure if kids are going to attach onto thisstrange hyperstylized animation form, and I think the fact that Lucas on justlet the creators do their thing and make this very, very cool, lookingdifferent style animation is really cool and I completely applaud them forthat. Now. This show it had twenty five episodes in total it ran for actuallythree years or two thousand and three two thousand and five, so it actuallyfilled in the gap between star wars movies. Of course, tosand two is theyear that attack at the colones came out in two thousand, and five is theyear that revenge of the syth came out, and this can a bridge the GEP. However, the episodes were super short. Some of them are literally three minutes long, like they're, shorter than pigs or shorts short. They are short shorts. They are Larry Bird S, basketball, shorts short, I'm trying to get crazy with my nowgieshere. Just to prove these episodes were real short. The longest episodeslongest were twelve minutes like they were the longest episodes of thisseries, wer like the length of spongebob or fairly odd parents, episodes really short stuff, and there wasn't a ton of story and a lot of itssome episodes literally didn't have dialogue as evisod ith, Mase Windu, nodialogue, no speaking at all, which again really surprises me that LucasFiln was like you know what this is fun. That's a wlittle, RO GNNA! Let happenbecause I appreciate that they let you know the artist, do their thing andmake this very unique, and you know just odd ball cartoon. But it's veryweird. It's a very weird thing, looking back on, and it was not highlymerchandised very oddly enough that...

...really weren't too many toys and Legocouldn't have cared less about this original clom war show because therewere zero sets made for it. At the time, and instead of baking, you know setbace op the CLOM wars, Lego made more original trilogy and Prequal era stuffduring this type period and made nothing nothing based off this originalClo wars run and one final thing I want to mention about this TV series, theoriginal clome war series. This was the first ever appearance of the charactergeneral grievous. He is menacing and terrifying. In this show he has onevery mimerable moment in the episode where he just goes him and sneaksaround on some clunch ribers and they kind of portray him like he's Batman orsomething. It's super super cool which kind of makes his appearance inRobingous sith and then the later clonwar series disappointing, becausehe kind of becomes more cartooni and stupid. But his original appearance wasin this clumwere series and I grew up. I watched this clumwor series wantedaric back in the mid two thousands- and I was very young. I was seven eightyears old and you know I wasn't like I am now. Obviously, now I follow mediaand I watch movie trailers and all this stuff, but back then a thidn haveaccess to all these things an a course social media wasn't nearly as prevalentas it is now, and I had no idea that General Grievis the character from theclon war series was going to appear in episode three revenge of the Sith. So Ijust remember this crazy hype that I felt when I saw eviges sit in thetheaters, and I was like oh my gosh, it's general grievous from the clomewar, show like it blew my mind as I was. I was eight years old when thathappened. It blew my eight year old brain to see this character from acartoon show appear in the live action. Film like that was wild to me and obviously something like that wouldnever happen to me. You know in this day and age, but back in the day thatblew my mind as a kid but enough about the original clomwor series, becausethe bulk of this episode is going to be about the more modern clonewar serieswhich didn't even start as a series. This is such a weird history, becausenormally when you're talking about someg like a movie or a TV show you'relike yeah, it's a movie, it came out to TV show had a few seasons on this onenetwork. That's about it. The corn wars is not like that at all it flips andflops between networks, different platforms, different lengths, it's wild.It actually has a lot more going on than you might expect. So the CLOMEwors, the thred animated clon words that we all know and maybe love today, was originally a movie. It was a movie in August of two thousand and eight andit was a theatrical release, not a super successful one. At made, likeforty three million dollars the box offits, it's bar, none, the lowestgrossing Star Wars Quote Unquote Film of All time. When I'm ranking the StarWars movies, though I don't even consider this movie, it hardly regs asan actual star wars movie in my opinion, but it was released theatrically. I didsee it in theaters and it's bed, it's really bad. It is not a good movie andnow don't interpret that, as I think the clone wards as a whole is bad. There are a ton of bad story. ARCS throughout the clone. Wars show, butthere's also a lot of good ones. The clon wars as a whole has some reallycool, interesting, compelling storytelling. The movie, however, represents more of the problems I have with the Klungwar series, rather thanthe strength of the series. The movies plot is dumb. It revolves around Rhodathe hut job of the huts- kid it is one of the dumbest storylines. It's notgood at all. However. This movie, I mean, if you love the clomwor show yougot to be thankful for this movie because well it watched the show itactually originally was supposed to be. I think just like four episodes of theshow, but they just turn it into a movie. Now the problem with that isthat this movie was legitimately released in theaters. If it was a TMmovie, it wouldn't have been the big of a deal, but since it was release intheaters a gut pant, but critics because the animation looked like TVanimation, because it literally was TV animation, it's not a very good.Looking movie for a threed animated release, theatrically for TV, theanimation, you know, Thoese different standards. Budgets are different, butfor theaters it just did not live up to...

...par, is release in August movie, flopped wasn't a big hit, but it did launch the clum worst TV series. No,all this was planned. Of course they weren't not going to launch the clungwars. TV show because the CLOMORS TV show came out in October of that year, literally just two months later after the movie, the series originally airedon cartoon network, which makes a lot of sense carton networks where cartoonsare the clomwars is ultimately a cartoon. Obviously, and it was oncartoon network for five seasons until the year two thousand and thirteen Iwatched it every week, for I think about two and a half seasons and I kindof lost interest in the colonwors. As I got a little bit older and into MiddleSchool- and I you know, thought I was too old for the clone wars, like I'm,not going to watch this Kitti cartoonmy more, which that has changed. But youknow I had my kind of teen anget phase with this clung. WOR Show so I'ewatched it live on air when it originally premier for about two and ahalf seasons. Remember I kind of lost interest when the zero, the hut size, noodles episode arc happened in the midst season. Three I was like what theheck is. This crap and I stopped watching. I have since rewatched theentire series- and I am currently rewatching it again now preparing forseason seven which is coming out today. So you know I have a new found offinityfor the clun wards, but originally thought I was like you know too big forthe cling wors like the clenwars was below me, which it clearly is not. Thatwas just my naivety when I was younger and an St team, but it ran for fiveseasons on cartoo network and it was all smooth sailing. It was doing prettywell the first four seasons, each had twenty two episodes and then seasonfive had twenty episodes and I think season five is: where can kind of seethe quote? Unquote, downfall of the clome wars start to happen. It kind ofstarts to spiral out then, because season five didn't have a cohesivenarrative through the entire season. It was actually just a collection of fourepisode arcs. It had five different for episode, Arcs, which some of them arecool, and some of them are just terrible. It's very odd how thathappened, and then, after that, Cartin dewnwork was like yeah screw it. We'redone we're done with this clonwar show we don't want to do it anymore and bythis point, Disney has acquired the rights to star wars, which we willmention here in just a second as to kind of why the clen wars fizzled out.So we have five seasons of the columwars with a lot of episodes andthey do have a fully made sixes season that did not err on TV ore CARKDTOnetwork. However, in two thousand and thirteen Netflix acquired the rights tothe colonwar show, so they put the clen war show on Netflix, which is I'm verythankful for, because that's where I ended up watching all these episodes ofthe Columweres, I think it like twos and fourteen and fifteen, so netloxputs the clemwars on Neflix and then in two thousand and fourteen they air. Finally, as a Netflix original series, the final thirteen episodes of theclomewards from season six, these episodes, though they weren't,conclusive in any way, there's some good la arts. I really liked the Yodoarc in there and also the Mak when new Gorgert, beaks Arcise's and sixentertains me in kind of the wrong way, but it does. But these episodes weren'treally conclusive. They didn't really wrap up the story of the CLONGWARS. Itwas nice to get more, but it was kind of like still the storytellers clearlywere not able to tell the coheasive narrative they wanted to with the Clonwors, but after that six season. That was the sixth and final season of thecowars, or so we thought it literally was for six years now in two thousandand eighteen though two thousand and eighteen we get to comicon and at the Lucas fhone panel, they announce. CLORNWARS is coming back for a final season now. The reasonclone wors kind of died is because Disney after they acquired Lucas Film.Instead of you know, continuing along with this thing that they didn't makethey're like you know what we're going to do. Our own thing at this time,Disney kind of assumed everybody kin a hated, the prequal era. You KnowObviously Force Awakens kind of craps on the prequels as films. So Disney iskind of doing the same thing here, where they stopp the clum wars andthey're like we're going to do star wars, rebels, that's going to go onDisney xd their own animation channel instead of car to network, so Disneymake star wars rebels and they cancel...

...the clonbors. They get rid of the colonwars. They start doing their own thing. They do revel. I because it's moreclosely tied to the original trilogy, which of course is what Disney wastrying to emulate with all the films they've made so far, because they thinkthe precuals are universally hated, even though obviously as time as goingto tell especially the disappointment of the Disney sequel films, theirprequels are a lot more popular than I think, Disney ever anticipated, whichis probably one of the reasons they ended up, bringing the columwars backhere in two thousand and twenty, but in two thousand and eighteen, like Ialready mentioned at Comicon, they announce the CLEN. Words is going tofinally get a real conclusion with season seven, it took a while it took acouple years, but now we're. Finally here and it's February twothousand andtwenty and season seven of the clom wars is coming out. Obviously it'scoming out to day I haven't even watched the first episode. Yet I haveno clue exactly what's going to happen, I mean obviously it's going to tie nwith episode three, which I'm excited to see. Hopefully it's a great seasonand we are going to get some clom wor stuff based off from Lego from theseason in the very near future, but that is kind of the overall history ofthe Klone wars. Show it's a more jumbled one than you think it's been onthree different networks. It was a theatrical movie. It was actually twodifferent, completely different series. It's very weird, it's more complicatedthan you might think, and Lego has made a lot of sets based off of it. So let'stalk about those now, it's now time to talk about the history of Lego, StarWars, the Colomwars, an Io' Havt, to say something something, that's anopinion, I've kind of formed for myself. It's not something that I think thegeneral public really talks about, but it's something that I genuinely kind ofbelieve it's bold. It might be rash, but I'm going to say it. I thinkunofficially Lego Star Wars, the clome wars saved Lego, Star Wars, not Legoasa company; it's not like the whole theme of Star Wars or Bionical Thetlegitimately saved Lego out of their own dark ages, but I do believe thatthe clome war sets pretty much helped save Lego, Star Wars as a brand andhere's what Lego signed a contract with Lucas film to produce sets based offstar wars and contracts have endings right. You know: Basketball players, making more basketball, analogies, also speaking of basketball, shameless plug, good checke episode to Brickology, which is about Lego sports. Okay,Shameos plug over talking about Star Wars, the Clun wors, using a basketballanology, a basketball player signs a contract for let's say five seasons. They played that out at the end of those five seasons, you need to eithersign a new contract or go sign somewhere else. Lego in Lucasfilm didthe same thing. They signed a big contract, but that contract was comingto an end and the early two thousand and tents and look. There was no SARwars movies coming out. You know, there's been a star wars movie everyyear for the past five years and we also have star wars, TV shows and allof these spinoffs and all these things now like there's so much star wars, media now it seems weird to think about star wars, media being you know, notsuper prevalent, but after revenge of this sith. Besides, maybe a couple ofvideo games like four sunleashed, there wasn't a whole lot of star war, stuffman. There really wasn't. There wasn't a whole lot for Lega to do and I think, without the CLEMWARS LEKA would have quickly run out of star war stuff tomake, because eventually you need to make something new. You can make asmany exlings and snow speeders and tie fighters as you want, but you can'tkeep doing that or else people are going to get bored and Star Wars, theClun wars. When it came out two thousand and eight it was real and itwas new star wars material. The LEGO was like hey. We can make sets basedoff of this and in the year two thousand and twelve Lego reuped theircontract with Lucas film for ten more years. I don't know that contract hasbeen extended, I'm sure it has don't get worried. Lego Star Wars is notcoming to an end anytime soon, but twothousand and twelve. Eight years ago, now, Lego side a ten year extension with Lucas film to continue making setsbased off of star wars products, and I think the clone wars needs a lot ofcredit for helping that happen, because if the CLO worst doesn't exist, I don'tthink Lego has enough star wars, material to keep making sets based offof, and I think they might have let...

...that contract expire in the yeartwothusand and twelve, because ecause the clemors was around Lega was likeconfident enough to go out there and be like you know what we have enoughmaterial to work with we're going to make sets based off the clone wars and,of course, other star wars things. So I think, unofficially to me the klongwarskind of Helpd Save Lego Star Wars. So I've already mentioned the clumworsfilm came out in the year twothousand and eight D- that just of course, sohappens to be these same year. Lego first started making sets based off theclome wars, but the history again con OC the history. The show is morecomplicated than you might think. In the first winter wave of two thousandand eight they actually released to kind of clomewar sets the first one wasspecifically a clum war set, and that was Annakins Jedi Star fighter. Thiswas marketed as a clone wars. Preview set it used the two thousand and sevenDarth vader helmet packaging as its packaging, but in the lower left cornerit had. The clumwors Logan was like exclusive pler preview of the Clon wars. This was an exclusive clonwars preview set of Anakinshoat starfighter. It wasa twentydollar set. They had a hundred and fifty seven pieces, very cool saits.Actually one of the few Clun wor sets thit's actually got remade and we'lltalk about that later on. In this episode it was a good cool, littlesetback. Then, however, this sat did introduce the clemwar style ofminifigure and if you have the time or able to your driving, don't do this.Don't go online, O! Look it up, but if you're not driving, go look up theseClim wores many figures. If you don't know they look like because they arehideous, they look. Disgusting Lega really tries to emulate the artisticstyle of the characters from the show, and the show's innomation to me hasalways looked a little bit wooden and kind of painted on and weird, and theyhad kind of weird shaped faces and eyes and Lego tries to do that with printingon Lega mini figure, heads and it looks awful, it looks so awful and veryunlego like and it's terrible. I think most of us can agree that the clon wars, original clunworsh figures, especially the ones that have very humannoied, faces, look horrible and it was a terrible decision by Lego to make thefigures look like that they should have stuck to their normal figure style, which, unfortunately, they did not in its anacin said. I star fighter is thefirst ever appearance of that style of Clonwar's figure now also in that wavelegar released a hell fire droid set that also came with a spider, drodesand er. Twenty dollar set ironically, had about a hundred more pieces thanthey charge a a starfighter andhead twice as many more than tides of manyfigures. It had five droid figures in the set. It wasessentially just kind of a droid battle Peck, and this sad originally wasmarketed as an episode to set it's Benal genosis. It's got junos'sbackground. It's two things that appeared on Gnoso, it's its basically abig boudroy battle pack. It feels like a ganosis episode to attack of theclone set, but the weird thing with both of these winter two thousand andeight sets after they released the wave in the summer of actual clumwor setsthat had a clomwarstyle package. They went back and repackaged. These twosets with that Clon wor style of packaging, which is kind of blue, hassome blue stripes and a clon trouper helmet in the corner. As the box art. That's super weird. You don't hear about Lego. Changing box art all thatoften I think they did it with the toy story set. It doesn't tain as well, which we will be talking about legatoy story here in a couple weeks, so lookforward to that as well, an otershameless plug for other episodesof brickology. But it's very strange to me that Lego actually went back inretroactively change. The packaging of these two sets and it's very weird. They made this hill far adroid and spider jroid set kind of officially aclone wor set with the packaging, even though it's clearly based off a scenefrom attack at the clones. But the official liked lego database, bricksetlis that set as a clum war set and is not listed as an attack of the cloneset,so very weird little fun fact about those two sets. Now. Let's talk aboutthe year two thousand and eight with all these clun work sets. So Imentioned already. The clemwars film came out in August of two thousand andeight in August. First, two thousand and eight was the first big wave oflegosets based off the Colum wars, the entire summer wave of Legostar wars. That year was completely dedicated to the clon words, and it was kind of aunique mix. It was a mix of sets four of the ASETS or vehicles that are alsoin the prequal trilogy films and the...

...other fource sets are vehicles that areexclusive to the clom wards, show and one to video game. They'll talk abouthere in just a second, so the first Lavi Clon were sets. We had the homingspire dro. This is actually the first ever appearance of the Humming Spiderjoydowas, a thirty dollar set. I believe it came with an exclusivecommander of captain is at commander or Kaptain Fox, but think is commander Foxmanifigured, the Red Clu trooper commander, very cool figure. exclusideof that set. I actually got this set back in the day. It was a pretty goodset for twothousand and eight, and it's a course something that's been remade acouple times to be based off of the other pricle trogy films. This is alsothe first time we ever got the droid gunship. This is the first time evertheyhave since to gone on to remake that twice, based ONF revenge of theSinth, but this version was based of the clone words. It also retailed forthirty US dollars and I believe it's one of the few lego saids ever that hasthree hundred and twenty nine pieces, which of course means a lot to mebecause I'm legaly three nine. However, I never got this set the figures inthis set kind of sucked. It only came with battle. Droids, that's kind ofsappointing, so Wev got those two sets. Those are the first ever appearances ofthose vehicles in Lego form, but those vehicles had already become famous fromthe prequal trilogy films. Next up, we got the first remake of the atte. Thefirst ATT came out in the year two thousand and three that atte was basedoff of episode, two attack at the clones. This version was based off theclum words. It was the first ever set to come with a CATC, an REX minifigure, which is super cool. It also came with Anakan Asoka and Rhoda. The Hut, theafore, mentioned Little Baby Hut, that is so disgusting, a creepy piecefulthat I do kind of wish. I had that piece of my collection. It came in thisatte set and womer said that well mention here in just a second. This onechanged up a few things that also came with a step, a single trooper arialplatform for a battle joining this time. It was in blue instead of being inBrown. Like the episode one version of the step, it was a pretty cool vehicle. It was a ninety dolar set with about eight hundred pieces. I never got thisset. I wish I had this set, but I do have two actually two attes o theversion that came out in two thousand and thirteen. So I really don't needthis set, but it was a pretty cool set, but the biggest set of the initialclonwors line was the one hundred and twenty dollar rot public gunship. Nowtoek gunship has been very prevalent and starws recently, it recently justwon the Lego ideas, Star Wars, voting contest to be one of the next legoideas. You CE S, Star War sets which is super cool. I'm super hyped about that.It was my personal choice. An I'm really excited. The gunship is one ofmy favorite vehicles in all star wards. I think it's a magnificent looking ship.It has an amazing appearance in the actual films. It's such a cool vehicle, and this set here was the first version, the first remake of it from the twothousand and two version. Now, it's technically a different version of thisvehicle. The two thousand and two version is the low altitude one. That'snot actually a spaceship, it's just. You know an an atmosphere vehicle. Thisversion of the gunch of the attack gunship based on the Clome wors, isdifferent, doesn't have those ball turrets and it actually has more door.So the entire thing can seal up and actually leave the atmosphere. So thisgunship can come from a vintor class star destroyer and go into theatmosphere, so this is actually technically speaking, a spaceship, butit's still more of a I atmosphere, type of vehicle- and this set here actuallywas the first appearance ever of an assage venturess minifigure, which issuper cool, the first ever appearance of Plocoon, which is an iconic Jedi andthe first ever appearance of Commander Cody, who, as still a pretty rarecharacter to find in Lego form so very, very cool minifigure. Lone up. You alsogot obion an additional clone trooper, and this set here was voted on by myfans on instagram same as pubge to go. Follow legaly through Jejin instagram. This set was voted on by my fans as the best set based off star wars, the clumwars, and I would have to agree it's a fantastic set. It's an iconic set, andthis set additionally means a lot to me. One thing I love to do here in brick:alogy is whenever I have a fun little antidote intodote. I always say that Ialways say antidote. I get the word Ancoanicdote and antidote mixed up allthe time. I have a fun little anecdote. Sorry about that about this, set it'sgoing to e. come an inside joke here in Brigalga, I'm going to keep sayingantidote instead of anecdote, but little story to tell about this set. Sothe year is two thousand and eight. I...

...was eleven years old and eleven yearolds, don't normally have a hundred and twenty bucks to go below on a big Lego,Star war sate if I was going to get that set it had to be for Christmas orsomething someone would have to buy it. For me, I did not have money for thatset, but my older brother, who is six years older than me he was currently inthe PROC of applying to colleges. It was a senior of high school and he wasapplying to colleges in the college like his dream school that he wanted togo with to was Standford University and Palloato California, and he basicallytold me he's like Hey Lee if I did into Stanford, which was kind of a reachschool for him he's like Hey. If I get into Standford I'm going to buy you, this gunship set not entirely sure. Why did it it just being a good olderbrother? I guess, but that's the the bet, that's the guarantee he made be ifhe gone to Standford. He would buy me this Sep. I Guess Iwas kind of you know.Maybe some of his reasoning was to get me really excited about this particularset, because all of a sudden I'm super into and like way, how are you gettingto stanfor? What are yougoingna do o gain to Stanford, like all of a sudden,IAM super passionate about his college admission experience but, like I said,Stanford first off is like one of the top five schools in the United States. It's a historically great school. He did not get into Stanford heded upgoing to Duke University. It all worked out. Fine, he loved, Duke we love Dukeall worked out. Fine, we didn't in to Stanford Andye a you know, was kind ofbummed out that he didn't get into his dream school, but it was a reach schoolfor him and you know because he didn't get to Stanford. I got bummed outbecause I'm being super selfish and you know hes said he was going to get me.The epublic gunship but didn't get into standfor, and I was like oh well, guessI'm not getting the her public gunship, but a couple days later, he's like HeyLee come outside. He takes me to his trunk of his car. Opens Its Cup opensit up and there it is the republic unshed Sait, the two thousand and eightclonwars republic gunship set, despite the fact that my older brother did noteven get into Stanford. He' still just bought me this one hundred and twentydollar set, which is a lot for. You know W A high school kid to buy. Hejust bought me that set, and it wasn't even Christmas time yet like it wasjust a random gift, and that's just one of the nicest things that anyone's everdone for me and meant so much to me. The time be a little checked up aboutthis story, such a great story. I love that story so that set it was voted onby my fans as the best set, and I am one hundred percent inclined to agreewith that statement, because that set really means a lot to me personally nowthe remaining four clonwar sets that came out in the summer. Two Thousandand eight were brand new vehicles for the clon worst film. We had the MagneGuard star fighter, which was actually the first clome war set that Ipurchased. I saved up all my allowance to buy this set. It was a forty fivedollar set, which is kind of a weird price point. Lego doesn't normally domultiples of five IC, usually like its all multiples, a tenimultiples of five, but they normally do it. You know forty doar fifty ar not a forty five dollarset, but this set was the first everclime wor sait. I got it's thefirst oversit to include the magnaguards and a brand new cocketpiece, the designer the set still holds up really well today, it's a fantasticlooking vehicle. I love this set. I love this ship. I would love to see itremaide, it's a very cool set for fifty fivedolas. They made the vnineteentorrent, which is a set to this day that I go on Ebay and look at auctionsfor because I still want the Setban. I'm sad, I don't have this vehicle, mycollection, I got the brickmaster mini model version of it, but I don't havethis version of the vinicting tort and I wish I did it's such a cool. Lookingship and you know, with the clongwars coming back, I'm going to go ahead andguess Lego was going to remake this vehicle within the next few years. Somaybe I should just hold off and wait for the remake, but it was a great set.It was fifty five dollar. It's the only minifigure scale version of this shiptheyve ever made, and one kind of weird fact this set came with a clone pilotand that's it one mini figure in the day and aids of Social Mediam. If legoreleased a fifty fivedollar star war said that only had one minifigure, theywould be ripped to shreds. I mean seriously writ to shreds by the onlineLego. Star Wars Fan community people would be so livid about that.Continuing the long. We had a store exclusive, that was the Republicfighter tank for fiftydoars ahead, five hundred and ninety two pieces. This setonly came with two generic clone troopers, which was a littleisappointing. The figures weren't great, but I loved this set. I got this setand the reason I love this sat because well, it was based of the Clum wors TVshow. I love this vehicle because it's a vehicle actually appeared in theclone wars. Video game that came out, I...

...thinkin the year. Two Thousand andthree that's a video game. I played all the time on my Nintindo Game Cube. Ihave tons an Ostalgia for that game in this vehicle or public fighter tank islike iconic in that game and when it finally came on Lego form, it was likea surreal moment for me. I love that set and actually was remade intoanother setosand n seventeen, but it was much smaller. It was half the size,it was a twenty five dollar set, and I believe this day this is still the bestversion of this vehicle, and the final two thousand and eight clone wor setwas the twilight. The twilight is kind of like the flagship vehicle of theclumwors movie and parts of the CLEMWORS TV series. It's the vehiclethat Anikin in a Sokon artid to fly around on in the movie and for aflagship vehicle. You know when you think of flagshit vehicles and StarWars, you think of the exwing and, of course, the Millennium Falcon right oryou think, O something like the razor crest from the Manda Lorian or theghost from Star Wars rebels the twilight while it has a sick name. The toilet is an awesome name. This vehicle is hidous. It's such an uglyvehicle, you know Lego and Star Wars. They're always going for this, like ourmain vehicle, is a quote. Unquote. Hunka junk, like the monium Falcon, issupposed to be a piece of junk, but the Millennium Falcon looks cool. The razorcrest is an old and rickety vehicle, but it looks cool same thing with theghost this vehicle is old and rickety and it looks dumb. It's such an uglyvehicle and lower repreent representation is not terrible, but itdidn't have a winscreen piece which I always am bothered by that when Legadoesn't includin windscreen piece in a star war set, so it kind of thesuspension of disbelief is hurt a little bit there, because all of asudden these characters can't you know they're Goin, Na they're gointo. Youknow to me and my weird imagination that can't survive out space if it'snot completely air tight right. So this is such an ubly vehicle. It didn't haveany exclusive figures: Hey had Anican exclose exclosive exclude I justcombineing a Soka and exclusive Asoka Ar Tudo to in Morder the hut it was ahundred dollar had about. I hundred pieces ugly vehicle- I never got it. Ihave no desire for this. I hope they never remake this ugly ugly vehicle. Now we really just dove in depth with that original year for the clunwords, which I think was necessary, but Lego over time has released. Seventy twosets based off star wars, the clong words and if I sat here and I brokedown, every single set like I just did for all of those sets. This podcastwould be like three to four hours long, and I don't think any of you want tolisten to that. I don't think spotify would let me upload that, so instead,I'm going to quickly kind of hit some of the highlight for the clumwer setfrom here on out the year. Two Thousand and nine saw the clone trooper battlepack on the first Concho Eba tackes bace of rervinge, the cit that came onTosan seven, but this cloture rebellapeck. That was the first Araboutpack to have phase one clonrybers is probably the most iconic battlepackever made. It's a real dively, mediocre Walker Bild verry typical battlepack, fair, but it came with three normal clones: a set of contreber armor in aclonetrooper gunner. It was a fantastic battle pack, it was only ten dollarsand this bettlepack is like the og. Let's build a clone army extremelyefficiently battlepack, and I wish that Lego would come out with something likeit in two thousand and twenty. What a fantastic battle peck he moving on. Wealso got into this an nine these separatist aat, which is the biggestever version of the AAT in Lego form. The original version was twenty bucks.WHICAS 'n fifteen version was twenty five and they're remaking the separateTis at this summer. Atleast the rumor list say that which is going to beforty, so that version will probably be smaller than this version. It's thebiggest version of the AAT ever it was the first sat that come with the kindof weird looking clum wars: Yoda minifigure, it's a cool set, thoughvery cool, looking set very good design that to hold ut today. Also in that way,we got these sixty dollar republic attacktiotal that I did get, which is avehicle. I would love to see remade in modern Lego form, because it doesn'tquite hold up here in two thousand and twenty an that set had Clem wors MISwindoom. That year we also got countucus solar sailor, which wasanother six yollar set and is the only appearance of this vehicle egvert inLego form it's a vehicle, that's very pfar, fairly prevalent in attack of theclones and the clum wor show. Now I'm not really sure how lego would go aboutdesigning this ve because of the weird sale it just wouldn't really fit like ostyle and they completely omitted the...

...sale from the design of this set. ButTu hat that I kind of wish that I had acquired back in the day. We also gotthe pirate tank, which was a forty dollar set, which was a pretty uglyvehicle, but it is the only Lego said ever to come. Te minifigure of HondoAnaka, who has kind of gone on to become this, like Colt, favorite, StarWars, character and he's now, even the host of the Millennium Falcon ride atGalxo's edge in Disney world, which I mentioned. I just went to this pastweekend. It was kind of surprising to see all this Hondo stuff around aDisney world. So hopefully we get a more modern version of a Hondum whenyou figure here in the future, but the Pirat take is the only legoset ever doinclude Hondo. We got the Republic Wy wing into thosand nine as well, whichis a very cool vehicle, and we also got these separateto shuttle, which is agreat vehicle that I love, but they two big sets this year from the ColongWeres get a hundred and twenty Ollar viviour class rorpublic attack cruiser, which of course is kind of like the precursor to the Star destroyer andit's an iconic vehicle from the prequels and the clom wars, and it kindof makes me sad. This is the only version of this that we've ever gottenbecause theyve never remade it they've, never remade it Lego. If you'relistening, please remake this vehicle, I want this vehicle so bad in mycollection, and it goes for a lot online now and I think it could use amodern update. I really hope Lego ends up remaking this ship here in the nearfuture and then the only ucs set based on the clum wars, which it's not reallya ucset, because it's minifig scale, but it was marketed as such, is the UCSRorpublic, dropship and Atot Walker. It was two hundred and fiftydollars, itwas two massive vehicles and the republic drop ship could pick up theATOT Walker itself. It's an insane vehicle, it's quite tdefeat of Legadesign, work and engineering. I really wish I had this set in my collection. Ijust could not afford something that cose two hundred and fifty dollar inthe year, two thousand and nine now two thousand and ten was in ther. Prettybig year for Lego, said space on the CLEN wors. We got our first remake ofgrievises starfighter, and this was a much bigger version that introduced anew cockpit piece in a brand new mold for general grievis on brand new set ofmold for general, grievous that are still being used today, and there willbe eightwo thousand and twenty remake of this vehicle. We got CADBAN speeder, which was the first H to include Kad Baand. He had two new pieces for hisbreathing apparatus and, of course, is crazy, cowboy hat. I actually just gotthis set of Ebay and I will be doing a throw back Thursday review for it nextweek. Probably- and of course, he's watching is at listen to this after thefact it might already be up on mytue channel and my instagram TV so go check. It out same thing goes for the FRICO speeder the vehicle based off anepisode in season, one of the Clon Wars that would a twenty five dollar set. Ialso just got that and thes summer we got PLO cooned Jedi starfighter. Nowthey made a ton O Jdi Star fighters based on the KLUNWORS. We got Annakinswe got plocoons. We got a SOCAS, we got Mac windews, we got Sassy Tins and wegot a remake of Anikins. That's six different JDA star fighters based offthe clum wards, carto network series, threed animated series alone, but I'mnot going to focus too much on any of the other ones. I do have a littleantidote and Annik tote. I'm sorry about that. I just keep missing themessing. Those two words up a little story about this set. My parents, for,I think their twenty fifth wedding anniversary treated themselves to atrip to pot Paris, France and back in the day. This still happened sometimes, but back in the day, this always happened. Lego, Star War sets arereleased in June in Europe and they weren't released until August inAmerica. But my parents are there in June beause, that's when theiranniversary is- and I was like yeah you Yo Yo, pick me up a new lego star warset, and it says you know my Yutute Channa was still fairly young and theygot me PLO cun, Shoi starfighter. They got me this set in Heurope and broughtit over to me, and I was the first person to review that vehicle online onYoutube. In English, there were some like French and German reviews, but inEnglish, legally Teuchadin with the first person to uplet or live videoreview of that set. I was still super young. That's stil one of my earlyvideo. They can still find it on my channel. I think it has ten tothousands of views. It super cool. I love that story. I love that. I gotthat set super early and was able to review that set very early. It's agreat plokan today starfighter, it's a very cool, looking ship, although itdoes look a little bit outdated now...

...finely for thousand and ten one sad, Idid get a lot of votes for. One of the best sets bace of the Clon wars is thetwo thousand and ten cone Turbo Tank. This is a cool set. It came with Alasacur. It was a big big set hundred twenty dollars, big turbo tank, itsmuch bigger than the version that came unto than sixteen. I think this versionof TURPA tank is little skinny and the wheels look awkward and I think it'sactually a pretty overrated set. Don't crucify me for that? I know people lovethis set. I don't love this set. I personally skipped on the set andprioritize some other vehicles, but we did get that big CLOTURBA tank in theyear two thousand and ten, two thousand and eleven is kind of the year whereyoused talk to see the clonwor sets fizzle out just a bit there, weren't,quite as many so twoousand n eleven an got stuff like the first ever manDelori in battle pack, the bounty huntred gunship, the Jidie shuttle oneof the best ones, in my opinion, of course, is the republic frigate, whichI did buy for a hundred and ten dolars, but unfortunately I destroyed itbecause I was a dumb child when I bought it. I really regret that becauseI wish I still had that vehicle on display in my collection, and we alsogot these sith night speeder there in the the G Notian starfighter. Therewere a handful of cool clon war sets that year, but these years were whenthe show was getting into kind of like it's middle of its run and cartonnetwork was, you know, nearing you know, towards canceling the series and, ofcourse, Disney Acquires Star Wars in twothousand and twelve, so twis andtwelve is really the first Ewe're like okay, we're starting to see very fewcolumwar sets. There was a couple battle packs there is genus and Canon, and then the got the malevolence, which will one hundred and twenty dollar set. That was like four years too late, because his vehicle appears and likethe first few episodes of the CLOMEWARS TV series, and it makes no sense whythey made a seid of it four years after the fact, but it's a pretty coolvehicle, and I wish I had this vehicle in that collection. I've definitelyconsidered buying this set on Ebay over the years, and additionally, there saidthat I would like to get on Eba. At some point is previslas Maindellorianstarfighter, which Privizla the character is voiced by John Favrou anda COURC John fabroux is the creator of the Mandalorian series on Disney plus akind of a funlimal connection. there. That's the only thing that ever camewith the previsla figure Tis an thirteen little bit of a resurgents. They had a little bit of a resurgencs for the clon words. This is when wefirst saw the CLENWAR sets include phase to clone troopers, so we got atrtin blue. I had a five first clun trooper. Also we got a FIVA first cloudtrooper in theset. Ninety five head hunter set that was fifty dolars Af,also came with a Pong Crell manifigure and with the umbarren arc, wilrepresented pretty well with theue sets because we' got the unbarren cannon, which is a very cool set that I'm glad I still have built along with the Barkspeeder whic you're, getting a remake of the Bark speeder here, Intho husandand twenty. But this bark feeter set originally retailed for thirty, yes, thirty dollars, and now it's worth over one hundred bucks. So if you have thisset new or sield or even built complete, it is worth a lot of money. It isappreciated in value quite well, probably because of that Captain Rekmanifigure, and then we also got the Mandalorian speeder that had theclomwars darthamall with the crazy robot legs and the Death Watch. ManDelaurens, and we got these sky hopper set as well. That came with Kad ban anddisguise w an and a bounty hunter, which is an extremely ugly velicle thatI skipped on literally because the vehicle is just so so hideoustwothousand and fourteen. We only got two clomwore sets. We gotthe clung cannon, which is a very cool set and it came with Wolfpack, Clun, troopers and plocoon very, very cool set, and we got the corssont policegunship, which is a set. That's appreciated, N value a lot, and itmakes me sad because I love this vehicle. It's a very unique vehicle andit looks really cool and the vehicle is even seen fitted for the empire andstarwrs rebels as well. So I really really wish I had this vehicle, mycollection and I definitely regret skipping on it in the year two thousandand fourteen. But after that no clon war sets man for a while. We 're prettymuch done Lego, had moved on. Star Wars are doing star wars rebels an a coursethecoming secuel trilogy rebels was all the rage. That's what Lego focus theirbudget on instead of the clum wors, which kind of sucks, however, until andfifteen this is one of the most random Legostar ware sets up all time.Remember the beginning. This episode when I mentioned that original SemuriJack SK Clone war series. Well, they...

...made a set based off of that twelveyears, twelve years after the fact. For no reason, lego comes out with AnnakinsCustom Jeti Star fighter from that series, and this is a crazy set, because this is the set that change the tide of clomewors mini figures. Therebels figures did not have the weird animated style and then the clum warsset this clun war set here, got rid of that weird animation style for thefigures as well. Annakin was remade without his weird clumwor's look samething goes for assage ventures that was included in the set it was a forty doarset. I A very good rendition of this vehicle. It's a pretty cool, lookingvehicle in the movie as well, and a very cool looking set it, which is sorandom that it came out in two thousand and fifteen. It Ould Come Out, housanda four or five. It would have made sense, but fifteen that's random, butI'm not complaining. Now. Wrapping up the Clonwar sets here a thousand anseven, a seven seventeen we got Yoda star fighter from those final episodesof season six kind of weird it came with the the more normal Yota figuresort of the clone words virgin and Ar td to and then twos an eighteen. We gotAnnikin Toa starfighter to the first remake of a clum, worse specific set,and that one had a more updated version of Anakin and weird thing. Is it had noinflation? It was the same price. It was stilly a twenty hoar set, eventhough it had almost one hundred more pieces than the original version, sothat's kind of a fun. Little fact about that. Also we got a thirty dolar set intwo thousand and eighteen of grievous's speeder, which was a one hundred andfifty seven piece set. I believe for thirty bucks and it had an updatediversion of me, Swindu from the collnwars and grievous as well in themore normal style really horrible price set. But it's a pretty cool lookingvehicle, and this summer we are getting rumored clemwer sets. CLINWAR sets willbe returning, so this episode, you know, was to be continued. Maybe for thefuture we shall see so there's some really cool stuff coming out for Lego,Star wards in the columwars in a Clo course season. Seven comes out today.I'm very excited to see where that leads and what sets that leads up to.But that's it! That's all the Lego, Star Wars, thet clon were set. It's adeep. It's an interesting! It's a rich history. The clumwars has a lot moregoing on than you might accept. It might expect, and thank you guys somuch for staying with me through thisjourney. That was a lot. That was a lot. My mouth is exhausted, IAM very coldbecause I turn out the air conditioning t record brickology and it's snowmingoutside so I'm very cold. Currently, I'm kind of shivering well recordingthis episode.
