LEGO Ninjago Season 1 (2011)

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

On this weeks episode of Brickology, LegoLee329 goes back to the year 2011 to uncover the truth about the inception of Ninjago and all the controversy surrounding the now popular theme.

Good morning, good afternoon, goodevening, whenever, wherever you are listening, thank you so much for makingme a part of your day. My name is Leeparm. You might know me as Lego, Leeor Lego Lee thee to nine from facebook. Twitter instagram youtube patron, youname it I'm all over the Internet, and this is the brick Ology podtast thestudy of small plastic bricks. How are you doing? I sincerely mean thatquestion. How are you doing? Because I really hope you are doing well andstaying safe during this tumultuous time in the world, the coronavirus,Covid, nine team whanever you want to call. It- has really caused a lot ofchaos across the globe. It's exploded in the past few weeks and a lot ofthings are being cancelled. NBA Season, the Na Tournament, things that I reallylove have been canceled movies are getting canceled or pushed back argoing traight to streaming. I mean it's a crazy time. It seriously a crazy time.It is absolute madness and I hope you are taking all of the necessaryprecautions to stay safe during this time, going out as seldomly as possible, washing your hands, washing your clothes, staying away from big crowds, not touching anything unnecessarily. I really hope you're doing all of that.I'm trying my best. I feel good. Currently, obviously that could change, but right now I feel good curly and one good thing about you know. Kind of suff.Quarantine yourself to an extent is bricology does not require me to goanywhere. I am literally recording this in the closet at my apartment. Irecorde this in a closet I'm seriously now. Unfortunately, my higher qualitymicrophone is actually at a different location, so I'm not able to use thatusing a siltly, lower quality microphone, but my editing skills, Ithink, are good Gong to think it sound pretty good and be approved by spotifyanyways. But besides that, nothing about brick ology is going to beaffected by this virus that is going around and actually you know. This isnot a great thing, obviously, because the corronavirus is still spendingaround, but a silver lining from all of this is people have a lot more freetime to stram things right. You know I've watched like ten movies in thepast five days, because there's nothing else to do at nighttime and because ofthis, I'm assuming my podcast view count on spotify has doubled in justthe last week alone, which is very good for me. So I'm hoping, despite all ofthe tragedy, that's happening across the world that we are able to enjoy thethings. Maybe we won't appreciate more and I'm hoping that brick ology canmaybe catch off the ground a little bit more, because not much else for me todo at this current point. In Times, I'm going to put a lot of effort intomaking brick ology the best it can be for you guys, while all this madness ishappening- and I have seen some results right now with a lot more stream. Sothank you for all of those people who have streamed brick ology up to thispoint. This is the sixth episode of Bricology, and last week I touched onthat people were getting kind of kind of mad that my inshows were really long.I didn't cut the chase and I'm not going to do that this week. Obviouslythat Intura was long because I need to mention you know a few things about theCorintavirus, because it's very topical but we're literally not going to bearound the bush. Any more were jumping straight to the point of this week'sepisode of brickology and introducing our topic now the topic for thisepisode. It did change because originally it was going to be aboutLego, Disney princess to coincide with the release of the live action, remakeof Mulan that comes ut a week from today, however, because of theaforementioned virus, Mulan has been...

...pushed back indefinitely. We don't knowthat's coming out when it does eventually come out, hopefully sometimehere in the near future. I will do that Disney princess episode. I swear. However, I just figured it be kind of weird to do the episode with no realreason to do the episode and have to explain all that. So I completelychanged this week's topic of Brick Ology or I'm more so moved up a topic Iwas planning on doing later and because of the craziness that's going on in theworld, I wanted to make an episode that I think a lot of people would like tohear and like to listen to something that a lot of my fans have grown upwith and will love and will be excited that I'm making this episode. So thisepisode of Brick Ology is about Letgo Ninjago. Now ninjago is a huge themeand a Jaco is an evergreen theme from Lego. If you don't know your nature, venacular and Evergreen tree is a tree that always stays green. Now, a lot oftrees in the falltime autumn season the leaves in the trees they die, they turnBrown, they fall off the trees and you know get racked up. The trees are dead, they have no leaves for the winter and then the spring it blooms again thetrees, the leaves Thay come back to life now. Never Green Tree is different, ain ever green tree. Despite what season it is always has green leaves. So it's a pretty you know, self explanatory name, and the way thatrelates to Lego is an evergreen. Lego theme is a Lego theme that does not goaway. There are plenty of Lego themes that do go away like like o Castle hasbeen canceled over and over again and then rebooted, then canceled again. Butthere are a lot of lego themes know like Star Wars. The perfect example:That's like twenty one years, strong Lego city has been going on for decades. Now, friends seems to be one of these and I think another evergreen theme, because next year it will be in its tenth year. Is Let go Nanjago and Ithink it's crazy. That Lega Nanjaco is an evergreen theme from Lego, becauseit had kind of a strange and chaotic and weird and questionable beginning, and I don't think anybody anywhere thought it was going to be what itended up being so without further do let's jump into it and explain thecrazy history of Lego, Nejago Non Onjogo, of course, is a theme that Legocreated themselves. It is an unlicensed inhouse, original letgo theme and I'vebeen wanting to talk about an original lego theme for a while now, but thefirst five episodes of brick ology in some way shape or form or a licensetheme. Obviously, toy story in the two starwrs episodes were just one hundredpercent license themes and wall. The sports episode and the NASA episodetouched on some sets that weren't entirely licensed. They still wererelated to some bigger license. Then Jago, though, is not Injogu is a themethat Lego created itself, and you know, Lego is controlled by license themesthese days, the biggest leg of themes that most people seem to care about ourstar wars and Marvel Super Hes, and then we get random. You know licensethemes like despicable, meminions and trolls world Torand, angry birds andthe lone ranger just random stuff of that sort. But back in the day, reallynot that long ago, like even like a decade to go lega was more socontrolled by the Onbleisen thems like o Castle was a big one, pirates spacecity stuff like that Lego. You know they have their bread and butter overthe years has been on license. Themes that has kind of died as Lego hasbecome bigger and more commercialized, which is very understandable andhonestly, you know, lixense themes are...

...the things that I like more because I'mobsessed with Star Wars, Marbel Super Heroes, I'm more inclined to buy a setbased on something I love, rather than something that lego creates. But thereis something special and very unique about the unlicensed them and, like Wen,a thing like hiddenside gets released, dosn'n nineteen, it's the first. Youknow big on license theme in a few years. It's exciting and it'sinteresting, and it's really cool to see what Lego can do, because they'refull creativity as a brain and as designers is on display because they'renot held back by the restraints of anything they can pretty much dowhatever the heck they want. So onlicensed themes in house themes arethe breadand butter of Lega or where the bread and butter of Letgo and whenNinjago came out it was actually one of two new on license Thames for thewinter of twothousand and eleven, and this is such an interesting story, Ithink a lot of newer Lego fans are going to have no idea what I am talkingabout, but if you ere around the Lego community in two thousand and ten, whenyou know Lega rumors were starting to service you're, probably going to knowwhat I'm talking about. There were two new original lego themes that wereannounced, one obviously Minjago, the other one was Faro's quest. Now theweird thing is there was like a strange online debate about which theme wouldbe better and which theme you liked more. You know how like, when twilightcame out. It's like. Are you team, Edward or team Jacob? It was kind oflike that. It's where you are Outin in Jago or team, Pharaoh's quest andmyself at the time. Admittedly, I was one hundred percent on the pharoh'squest chain. I love Pharoh's quest. I love Egyptian mythology from shows likeYugo and those Brigan frigure money movies. Like I was stoped for Farosquest. I bought all of the boxed pharohs quest set. I Love Hari's queston I was like Faris quest is going to be legit. This is like Owas next bigtheme. I love this Faris Quest Over Tin Jago any day in retrospect. That'sobviously hilarious, because Faro's quess had nine total sets. Only six boxsets couple polly bags on a weird promotional pack and it lasted one Wav,and you know I don't think it's been forgotten. You know, I think peoplelook tat, confaris quest fondly, but it's not exactly. You know relevantpeople's minds where, as Ninjago has got on to produce hundreds and hundredsand hundreds of sets over almost nearly a decade and it's still going strongtoday, whereas Faris quest is, you know completely, you know irrelevant inModern Day Letgo. So obviously I was wrong that Faris questor can be morepopular. I still love Faris Quist and I stand by that decision today because Ijust eat up anything Egyptian mythology related, but it's very funny inretrospecting. You know: That's not the first time that's occurred here onbrick ology. You know when we talk about things in retrospect in terms ofLego, like Legois, failing as a company at one point is funny to me to thinkabout because of how well they are doing now and another weird thing aboutNinjago, especially my trespect. Not everyone was like super excited orthrilled about Ninjaco at the time, because when we heard that we weregetting injago, everyone was like. Oh Ninjas were getting more Ninja stuff, and this is not the first time Lego has made Ninja related products in onethousand, nine hundred and ninety eight and ninety nine. They had what is kindof considered a subtheme of castle. They just had a line of products callednew job. Now this is not an episode about Lego Ninja. I will do a separateepisode about that theme in the future. If brick ology continues becausethere's a lot of sets to talk about from Lega Ninja, but people were hopingthat injago would be kind of like the spiritual predecessor to on thispiritual sequel to the Lego, Minja line and some of the sets definitely were, and obviously they reuse some pieces in...

...some similar things from those sets. But Ninjago was clearly this weird. You know targetind more towards kids, fainyfantasy based things with you know, skeleton warriors and crazy oversizedvehicles and you know kind of dew, some inspiration, maybe from power rangersmore so from the Ninja and Nickninja Lor from Japanese culture. So I think alot of people, especially older classic leco fans, were kind of let downbecause we were hoping for a big new line of ninjabase products and WanAnjago, obviously is Ninja based. It's not the kind of injerbase thing that Ithink a lot of people were looking for and obviously it's way more fantasy. It's a crazy fantasy world, instead of just being, you know, based off kind oflike the traditional Ninjer from Jep Japan. So that's very interesting tothink about because it became so popular, but at the time people weren'texactly like getting super excited about injago and one more thing that Ithink I definitely need to mention is the way we pronounced Ninjago back in aday, and this is something that a lot of people did seriously before Lego hadany promotional material where they really explained how to pronounce it.Almost everyone inset of saying Ninjago, they said Ninjago, you can go back andwatch my old original videos, Ford and Jago. I say Ninjago pretty much.Everyone said Ninjago like it's too separate words. Instead of one and Jugo,it was Minjago, and that's just so funny to think about now that we almostaw s like a group think among Lego fans. This is Ninjago, not Nomjago, so Ithink it's sake to say not. Everything was amazing from the Getgo for Ninjagoas a theme, but this is actually something that you know can kind ofrelate to other thing, it seems like I can't go a single episode of brickology without bringing up star wars and some regard, but if you think aboutstar wars, the original star wars, film kind of had a bumpy ride like theproduction was weird and crazy, and not everything about that production wassuper smooth and I don't think the beginning of Ninjago was super smoothand looking back in that now it's like that's weird Becius. I is one of likethose biggest themes ever that they make so many so many products for, butyou know a lot of popular IPS, actually don't have the glorious beginnings thatyou might expect so Ninjago in that way, actually wasn't this crazy successstory that we all know it as today it kind of had a rocky start. Now I don'tknow if Lego just knew something we didn't, but Lego really committed tunein Jogo they pumped a lot into Ninjago from day one. Now. This is kind of anunofficial term that Ninjago was the first of these leco things that we callbig bank themes. You know the big bing obviously is what supposedly createdthe world with a big bank and everything was made. So a big bank legotheme, the EUNALOGY is referencing. That lego really starts with the Bang.Instead of making a small first wave, they really pump a lot of material outthere. At the same time, some other examples of big BANGS, I think hiddinside you could probably consider that a big bang, because it came oun witheight sets an entire line of APPS and mots of promotion for it, although Ithink the more notable big bang lego themes are legends, ocima and Nexonights which really try to capitalize on the success of Ninjago. So today'sepisode of Brickology, I am not talking about all of Thejago Nonjago, who hasbeen going on for nearly a decade now and kind of like I do my star wardsepisodes where I am breaking them up into little different categories foreach film or show whatever you name it. I don't do that for Nanjaco. Today'sepisode of brickology is literally just the pilot season of Ninjago Anjakoseason, one the Ninjago sets from the...

...year two thousand and Leven. That's itbecause Lego released over forty over forty sets in the first year of Ninjagoalone. That is a ton. That's so so many they really just pumped a lot into thistheme and it wasn't just normal system. BAS set. So you. Obviously there were alot of normal system based sets, but there's also the spinner sets that willtalk about here in just a minute and then, of course, there's the TV serieson car to network that coinsides with thenanjago sets. Now I was never superinto the TV series I watchd just a little bit, but I never was super intothe show. I don't know too much abo the show- and this is about the study ofSmall Plastic Bricks tot the study of the TV shows based on the small plasticbrick. So I'm not going to mention the show too much throughout the rest ofthis episode, but that TV series is super popular. Obviously it's pawned tomovie thousand and seventeen, which will be for another episode ofBricology in the future, and it is still running today so Lego, reallyjust pomped a lot of material and resources in to the lodge of Ninjagoand Linjago was launched in January of two thousand and eleven, and thisepisode, like I said, will only about be about the first year of Dinjako fromtwo thousand and eleven, and there were so many sets name. Jago episodes willbee broken into mortal episodes. The next Mujaka episode, R, probably justBeeng in Jago Stuf from twohousand and twelve, because there's a lot to talkabout, but to start off with the Ninjago episode. I think it's onlyfitting to talk about one of the most iconic things from the first coupleyears of Ninjagois a theme, and that is the spinners. So before we talk aboutthe spinners, we need to explain the spinners first, because if you don'tknow what the spinners are you're not too familiar, it's a very odd thingthat Legua doesn't really do all too often. So this is a new dimic. It's agimmick of these spinners. It's kind of AE similar concept to Bay, blades thosetoys you played with a couple times when you were like seven years old inlower school, like yeah I's Bay, Bla, that's kind of what they were. However, the spinners did not have ripcord so bay blades. You pull a rip cord andmakes it spin, then in Jugo spinners at least the original ones. They have madespinners in the future that do have records, but the original Ninjagospinners did not have rip cords. They basically had little indintations foryour fingers on the spinner. You had to do it with your actual hands, which iskind of funny to think about, and I was kind of vinicky and hard to use. Butthe piece was a very particular specialized piece. It was, I think, about six by six studs wide it had four studs and four different locations andthen some sections for printing. But of course you could add things on to thosestuds n. In the middle of the spinner, there was a spot for one minifigure. The owner side of the spinner of there were just four antistuds that you couldput a little antistub. You know one of those plates that curved plateunderside plate on, so it could spin. There were screws, it was heavy, it wasa very specialized metal piece and you could put one mini figure in the centerand kind of the point of the game is when you spun the figures in the center, you point the weapon outwards and, as it would spen towards another one ofthe spinners, whichever figures weapon, you know hit a figure first, it wasbasically designed. I the figure is hit. It would twist just a little bit and ifit twist in the center, it raises up and launches the figure out of thespinner wow. That was a really horrible job of explaining how these spinnerswork. But this is a visual show. This ors is not a visual show. This is allmy words that I'm trying to pest. I can here, but that's kind of how thespinners worked and they sold these...

...individual spinner sets for tendolarseach and they had about an average of twenty pieces, so really bad price forpiece but, like I said, the spinner pieces are very, very specialized heavymetal pieces and each set came with one mini figure. Sometimes I figures wereexclusive, very desirable. Additionally, you get the one spinner three weaponpieces for the figure to use and youwould also get five trading cards. They even sold the trading card separately in some cases. I'm going tobe honest here. I don't really know exactly how the Ninjago trading cardgame worked. I don't really think Lego committed a whole lot to it. I kind ofwish they did because it wouldhave Beena little bit more interesting, maybe sold booster packs and had olographic cllectibl cards or something, but they didn't really commit a whole lot to then in Jago trading card game, but ch spinner did come with five trading cards and the trading cards hadlike different properties and powers. T you could use now there were a lot. Imean a lot of spinner sets to come out this year for Ninjago, so we had Kai,cal and Zane. The first WLAVOF spinners, along with these skeletons ANAskeletons, actually had new leg mods that year, a new skeleton Legmul thathad kind of like Weird boot so could actually stand in the spinner, like anormal lego figure, which is kind of an interesting piece. But you also gotskeltons chop pop Bonzi and crazy, crazy USI skeleton that ware a chestermask which Thatt was pretty interesting and then the second wave of spinners. We got Col, DX and ZAN DX. Now these spinners were golden, so they're alittle bit more specialized in there were golden. We also got o a swiner forMia and then some more spinners for the skeleton characters like knuctkcall. Then we got spinners for Cruncho Whitplash and since a woo, thesespinners were all transparent. So the spinners went from being kind of like anormal opaqe, normal lego color to they were gold, a little bit shiny andcooler, and then they were transparent, nd, that's where he was getting realand then they look pretty legit. Now the second year for in Jago reallyexpanded the spinner concevt and added like attachments to the spinners thisfirst year that which weare only focusing on today did not do that, butI just wanted to let you know that did happen, the future for these spinners,so we got three transparents finners with he concert, Cruncha, whipplash andswint since Winsay, since te will and finally for the spinners, we got theseSPINJITSU starger set. That was a twentydollar set that included twospinners one for J and one for these. Keleton warrior. FRACK JA- and this setis a very special set to me because itis the first ever Anjago set, Ireviewed, I think it was January fourth, two thousand and eleven over nine yearsold video. You can still watch it them on Youtu channel. Today, it's anabsolutely horrible video. It's completely out of focus my voice ashigh pitch, doesn't sound nearly as good or look nearly as good as mycontent is today. However, they didn't matter, because this is currently myfourth highest viewed video ever with over one hundred and twenty fivethousand views on Youtube. That is insane to me. It blows my mind that somany people watch this video. That kind of goes to help to show Haw, injagokind of helped form the community of Lego fans on Youtube and a lot ofpeople, including myself, have to be very thankful for a injago for givingus a ton of views and help getting our channels off the ground, because twothousand and eleven is really one of the first big years for my youtubechannel, and I owe a lot of credit TUDINJACO for improving my quality ofvideos and improving my viewership tremendously now n addition to spinners, they were not only found in these blister packs. So all the spinners Ijust mentioned cane in blister packs, like a pack of pokem on cards or Yugocards, comes in a blitster pack. You pull off plastic rom piece of cardboardand it hangs oesn't sit in the shelf. It hangs on shelves from Little LeckCooks. They came in blitster packs,...

...however, there were also spinnersincluded in the normal system based sets. So that's the next wave, anINJAGO, the denext set an HEN Jago sets. We are going to talk about here, thefirst one from the second way, we're going to talk about the summer wave isthe mountain shrine. This was a twenty holar set that came with Kay and hisown golden spinner that wasn't exclusive ban Didcoune with it a smallstructure with some training supplies. I know the many figures, but it didcome with the KY spanner and almost two hundred pieces, so it was a good dealand it kind of made the deal for the other spinners look worse because thosehad such bad price for pieces. Yet we're getting is sat. That's nearly tencents per piece with the spinner definitely makes you question some ofthe price points from Lego there, but this was a pretty cool set.Additionally, we had these SPINJITSU Dojo. This was a fifty dollar set fromthe first wave of Manjago a store exclusive. It inluded the SINCA WOspinner, which was, I think, exclusive at the time, a very cool spinner, andit's one of my favorite anjigos tets from this year. I would say it is myfavorite andjigo set from this year for sets that I do own and I have a coolstory about this set. Now. I've done this a few times here on brick Ollogy, where I like to share an anecdote about legosets. I love making it personal andgiving my own personal stories about Lego sets, and this is a veryinteresting story. So two thousand and eleven I was in eighth grade, so mymiddle school. We had these afterschool clubs that met once a week on Thursdaysafter school. Now in seventh grade, I was actually kind of ironically for thecontext of the episode I was in the Ninjitsu Club, which is you know, areal martial arts, which of course is the PUN's sake for Spingetsu fromNinjago. So in seventh grade I was in the Ninjisu Club. This is before.Najago has come out in eighth grade. I was very close with my homeroom teacher:We're really tight, we're still pretty tight today. He ened up being mybasketball coach in high school, Really Great Guy, and we had a goodrelationship, and he really liked me. So he really liked me- and he also knewabout my passion for Lego, and this is like when my Yoututino was reallystarting to myp top. I was starting to make you know at revenue from Google atsence in all that fun, stuff and people are kind of taking. My lego obsession alittle more seriously, even though we were all thirteen and fourteen and somepeople are, you know, starting to move away from toys and focusing more ongirls and sports and all the typical things that a teenage boy might do. Iwas still focusing on Lego and my Hemroud teacher, who I won't name, doyou know you know, respect his privacy privacy, but I won't name him here, buthe ended up making an afterschool club with me. I was kind of like thecocreator of this club. It was the Lego Club, we made a Lego club and we hadlike ten members. It was a it was pretty lit. It was a pretty good timeand I remember the first set he got for Lega Club for us to build as acollective was this set, the spends it Tudojo. The fifty dollar set from thewor first wave of Najago now I actually already owned this set for myself, because I really wanted O and I bought it for myself, but he also had this setfor the Lego Club. So I have kind of a personal attachment in special memoryof the spendid to spend having really a lot of trouble, saying it. SPINJITSUDOT show set from the first women in Jago into Thos elevment. So that's mystory about that particular set. The next set from the first wave wasnucholes ATV, a big oversized ATV that use those Chunky, plastic power, minors, power minors wheels is a twenty olar store exclusive and it had kis spinnerin gold, which I believe HEU could also get in. The affort mention set that Imentioned the mountain shrine set as well. Another step IM, the first wave, another store exclusive, was called Skeleton Bowling. This was a threedollar Seid Thet had almost four...

...hundred pieces again. Making the pricesof the individual, spinner blitster packs seem really really questionable, and this set came with Jays spinner and, like the name would suggest you couldbowl with some skeletons. These skeletons were on two by two circularplate pieces and they use the floppy skeleton design instead of havingnorbal skelton heads, they had tan cones and Hiy had all the skeletonpieces in Tan and you could spin the spinner to knock over the skeletonsthat were set up like bowling pens, there's only six of them. There was notten like a normal set of Bowlingu pins, but it was a similar concept. You counactually even keep score with the bionical glatoriant peace that had comeout in Bonical couple years prior in two thousand and nine really weird set.I don't have this set, I kind of wish. I did. It only came with J, no otherfigures, unless you count all the skeleton bowling pins, but a very oddLegano Jago set now moving on to the bigger spinner sets from this firstyear for like Anunjago, we had the NINJACO battle arena. This was a fiftydollar set with over four hundred pieces in this arena included coal andbonzize spinners, and the arena was built out of bricks and made you knowkind of an Arina Oval like shape for you to do your spinner battles, insideof it even had gates for the spinners be able to enter into the arena. Youknow kind of in liberal role, play scenario and half the arena was kind ofan Ninja aesthetic than the other. Half Therena was a skeleton asthetic, prettycool unique set had some good designs and good looks, and it came with twospinners for fifty dollars. Now. Last but not least, by far the biggest setto include a spinner from this first wave was the toisarest exclusive thatcame out in the summer. The lightning dragon battle now you're going to heara lot about the dragons. Throughout this episode, I won't spin it here I'llspend in just a minute with the Ice Dragon, but the lightning dragon battlewas an eightydollar set was a little bit under seven hundred pieces. It wasthe biggest dragon set from this here. This dragon was an impressive to dragonthe design and dark blue and light blue colors, and each Ninja got their owndragon this year. This one just happened to include the Crunchouspinner that I believe was in transparent, green. Another spinner wasthe same spinner that came with a ten doar blister pack, but that's kind ofweird that it also came in this set. It also included a skeleton helicopter tohelp combat the Dragon, but it did include a spinner, and this was by farthe biggest dragon set from Ninjago at the time. So those are all the spinnersets and those are all the spinner sets that were part of the normal systemwave. That's a lot hit's over twenty there's, a lot of Ninjago sets fromthat year's that contained the spinners and the spinners even got bigger inyear to from Ninjago, and I definitely will talk about that in a futureepisode of brick ology because they kind of became like a craze there for asecond. But that's all the spinner sets for Lega Anjago in the year twothousand and eleven. So with all the spinner sets out of the way we canfinally talk about the first evert in Jago system sets that did not includespinners. That was a mouthfull, but let's dive straight into them. Forfivedolars, we had the Ninja training outposts. This is the smallest box setfrom this year. It came with the Coal Ninja figure. Now the Ninja figures inthe first year for Ninjaga. They actually use the Og Ninja headdresspiece from the ninety eight inja theme. I think it's pretty interesting sincethen they have changed an igahead hedrigh peace, many many times. Thathas never really been that same old one, although we dig odate, pink and Inju inthat same style. This year, with the gamers market said that I review on myinstagram account in this channel, but the first year use all those Ogninjaheaddress pieces and coal used one in...

...black, of course, which wis a verycommonly used piece in the original Ninja theme, this training outpost set, though it had a target for an Arrow, a small dragon shape structure to wholdweapons, and that was about t. It was pretty much just an impulse by type setfor two ars more at seven dollars. We had the Ninja Ambush, which was a greatreally small set. It came with Kay and the skeleton bone Zi, which was thecheapest way to get one of thes skeleton mini figures, and it had thislike bamboo shape structure and by pushing on a piece that bablu wouldsplit and the Kimini figure would like lauch at the bones. I figure veryinteresting, very interesting play feature buts, a fun play future, especially for a seven dollar set, and we just don't really get too many, likeseven dollar sets here these days, but I kind of missed them and it was apretty cool set for fifteendolars. We had these school motor Buk and if youwere, you know if you're sick of Lego, making gigantic mitorcycles they maketons of huge motrcycles for DC Marvel superheroes D Injaga. Next, on nights, lots of themes have big oversized motorcycles. This set is kind of likethe og original oversized motorbike set. It was the skull motorbike. It was amotorcycle, of course, for these Keleton or years akind of with, likeghosttriters Heter Sok out man. Lotof people actually mocked it into ghost.Triders motersycoit came with J and chop off. It was a fifteen dollar set, actually a really cool design. It's a very cool like chopper style motorcycle, but this was kind of like the og, the original way way to big Lego, motorcycle set for twenty dolar in the first Dov as well. We got the IceDragon. I remember when Injago was first reveale. I wasn't thrilled aboutmost of the sets, but I saw the Ice Dragon. I was like man I have to havethat set that set, looks sick and now we've already mentioned the lightningdragon, but this was the first ever set to come out for the elemental dragons. We got all four elical dragons at some point that year three of them came outduring the summer, but the Ice Dragon was the first one to come out. It wasalso the cheapest. It was only twenty dolars. It had Zane and crazy. Theafford mentioned Chester, skeleton minifigure and the dragons had thisvery odd specialized head. Motov was big, it was made of rubber and it had abionical Zam, mor sphere launcher thing inside of it is his amosphere. I canremember it had the Glatorian launcher piece inside that you could lodge outof its mouth, which is kind of a weird play feature, but this Icedragon, Iremember, being a really really cool set at the time for thirty dolars. Fromthat initial pilot way, when injigo sets, we had the turbo Sredder, whichjust used big river, treads Ahad coal and Frackjah kind of an ugly vehicle.I've never had any interested in this one. I completely skipped on that oneand then the biggest set from this way. We've already mentioned a couple. Otherbig sets in these spinner section, but the biggest set from the first Wa'v EnJaga was garmadons dark fortress. It was a seventy dollar set. It use theBintin tail pieces as decorations on the front. It was the first and ever toinclude a Garmadon figure, and you also got these same Okai to Gere, who was afourarmd skeleton with an opening jaw feature very unique pieace with somevery cool molds. I real like that. It also came with Kay, and it was thefirst set ever to include Nia. That was a cool set kind of a weird look nowdoesn't hold up super all today, but it was a cool set that I ultimatelyskipped on back in the day. So now we can talk about the summer wave ofNanjago set in two thousand and eleven so kind of similar to how star warsdoes it where the winter wave has smaller set, and they save the big setsfor the summer and Jago. Pretty much did the exact same thing. The summerwavs most of the sets were pretty big. We still got the twentyoar blacksmithshop, which I did get and did review back in the day they had ky andcrunching. It had this weird, like roof...

...top opening play feature with gearsthat reveale some extra weapons inside the roof. That was kind of a weird side.It really does not hold up wall today I love Blacksmith shops and I love thatdesign. I love the kind of aesthetic of them, but this set is pretty ugly.Looking back on it now, we also got the Earth Dragon Defense, which I also gotback in the day. This was a thirty five dollar set if, of course, was ColsDragon. This is actually the only elemental dragon to have a differentheadmold. The other three use the exact same headmold in different colors, butthe earth dragon had its own very cool and very unique head mold, and this wasthe only dragon that was not a flying dragon. This was a ground base, dragonof course, and Earth Dragon lots of rocky features, very cool, lookingdragon good combination of tans, browns and kind of that minty green color. This was a great set and I'm really glad I got this one back in the day. Italso included the colmany figure, of course, and the whipplash minifigure aswell. Next up, we had the skull truck. The skull truck was a big oversizedmonster, truck designed for sixty dolars and had a Chonk paing playfeature now. Lego has made this play feature again. They made it with a nexto night set for gesture the justtrose vehicle that I reviewed on my channel afew years ago, where, essentially, you moved this truck along the ground andit had a big jaw. Big Skeleton face in the front in a goat, jomp Tom Chop, theGI would move up and down it' to fun simple, but very creative and fun playfeature is a huge huge over sized monster truck this one got a lot ofvotes as the best set in this wave. I never got this set. I don't rememberthis set to fondly, but apparently a lot of people do because I think it wasactually the runner up for the best in Jogo set from this way. Wi'll talkabout the best one, I'm just a second here, but this was a very interestingset. It came with Garmadon and it also came with J and Zane. Now, last but notleast, the last two thousand and eleven Nenjako set we're going to talk abouttoday. The set that was voted as the best two thousand and eleven in Jago, set by my fans on Instagram, is the fire temple. This was like the flagship Ninjago set for two thousand and eleven it was one hundred and twentydollars. It was one of the first ever Lego sets the first in Jago sit thatwas really based off a Japanese style temple. It was a big structure and itdidn't matter if you didn't like the weird, aesthetic and fantasy elementsof Ninjago. If you were a big classic Ninja Fan, you could totally get thisset and it would still be the same sort of thing huge, huge set. It had awesomeprinted windows with dragons on them, Cool Asian style, Japanese writing, andit also came with the last of the four elemental dragons, which I believe isthe second biggest of the flying dragons, the Fire Dragon. That was asuper super cool design and this entire set had a very unique play feature oryou could open up the middle for a spot for the dragon to go inside really coolset really great set. I'm not surprised at all. It was voted on as the best setfrom the first year of Ninjago. Also, it's kind of fitting that Kay got thebiggest flagship set because ki was on all the boxes and while Lloyd seems tobe the main character in Jago these days, Kai was kind of pushed as themain character of Ninjago back in the day, which is kind of interesting tothink about. In Retro spect, this set came with Seva miny figures. It was thebeen biggest Ninjago set at the time all around a great set. I still likethis Binjisu Dojo as my personal favorite Nijago set, because I alsonever got the fire temple, but I would hundred percent understand why my fansvoted. This set the number one over all two thousand and eleven nenjago set wow.My mouth is full of saliva. I've been...

...talking for a long time now, but that'sit. That's it yelled that is two thousand and eleven the first pilotever season of Ninjago. Those are all then injago year.
