LEGO Indiana Jones

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

On the latest installment of Brickology, LegoLee329 digs up the history of the iconic Indiana Jones film series and the small release of LEGO set based from it.

Good morning, good anternoon goodevening whenever, wherever you are listening, thank you so much for makingme a part of your day. My name is Leepari might know me as Lego, Lee orLego Lee Threetwo, nine from Youtube. Facebook instagram twitter patron, youname it. I am all over the Internet, and this is the brick Ology podcast thestudy of small plastic bricks. How is everybody doing today? I sincerely hopeyou are doing well, I'm pretty sure everybody listening is aware of thecircumstances in the world right now with the coronavirus. It is absolutelycrazy. What's going on completely unpresdented and if you're sick, if youhave the virus or our feeling ill, just let me now and I'll be praying for you, because that's all we can do right now. Is You know just practice. Socialdistancing, Statu from people don't go to many crazy places, don't gather andmash groups or anything just take the precautions necessary to try and avoidthe disease, and if you actually have the virus, don't go near people, quarantine yourself, work hard to get better and just hope and pray. So it'sa crazy time. Crazy time in the world, but the one thing, the one or a couplesilver linings about this for bricology and for me, is one. My streams havegotten up significantly. They have doubled in the past couple of weeks, which is great, which is great I'm. Finally, looking at my streams and I'mlike hey, you know, people are actually starting to listen to this podcast sn't.It feelike there's only like four people. It state like. I have over fourhundred something streams right now, which, again to some people might seemlike a very small amount, but to me who you know it's still fairly new to thispodcast game. I'm really happy with that and if the streams continue tomultiply at the right they're going at currently, I will have a lot. I mean alot more in a few months, so that is very exciting and another silverlodding about this is a few weeks ago in brickology, I announced that brickology was officially moving to a by weekly schedule, and the reason forthat is because I was finding myself hard pressed to be able to make anepisode each week, because I was doing other things well now that I'mquarantine- and I haven't left the house in a few days- and I really don'thave anything else to do- brickology is back to being a weekly show for thetime being now once quarantine and all this madness has passed hopefully inthe future, bricology will probably go back to the bilathy schedule, but forright now, during this absolutely insane time period, brick ology will bereturning to the weekly schedule, which I'm excited about, and I hope you areexcited about as well. This is the seventh episode of Brick Ology. Ithought last week's episode went really well and I'm hoping this week's episodeis even better and last week I wanted to give everybody a topic that was easyto relate to and fund that I thought would be a popular episode because ofhow awful the time is right now and I was struggling to think of how tofollow that up. I didn't want to do another star wards episode too soon Iwas like you know. I've already done two of those, let's mix it up a bit andI had a few ideas in mind, but I can't give credit to this idea withoutactually referencing somebody on Instagram, one of my anstagramfollowers, one of my buddies. Now this guy his handle is at Lego, Mandalorian,FIO. First earlier this week, he's like Hey, I you consider doing Lego, IndinaJones and I was like you know not really. I hadn't reallythought about that. I have no idea why I had at thought about that, because Ilove Anea Jones and it seems like a very natural topic for me to talk about. But up to this point, I hadn't considered that AG P potential topicfor an episode of brickology and after he said that I was like you know whatthat's a great topic. That's a fantastic topic. People like India andjomes they'll be a fun one for me to...

...research, it'll be a fun one to talkabout, and I think everybody will enjoy it during this quarantine time period. So thank you to lick up myglern at Five O. First for the idea of this episode,I had to give credit wore. CRIDIT is due. It was his idea for Indina Jonesepisode, and that is this week's theme we're going to be talking today aboutLego, Indiana Jones. Now, of course, bricology is supposed to be aninformative thing and we break down the theme to the smallest minutia littledetails and, of course I can't talk about Indina Jones Lego sets withouttalking about the history of the Indiana Jones film series. So this isgoing to be a brief history. I'm going to try and hit the most important noteto that, making it overly long so here's my brief history of the IndianJones film series. Now George Lucas, some guy named George Lucas, originallycame up with this idea for Indiana Smith. The Adventures of Indiana Smith.Keep that a min wil reference that here in just a minute. He had the idea andwrote a script in a story for the adventures of Indiana Smith in the year, one thousnd ninetueen and seventy three. Now. Obviously, I'm sure you all knowwho George Lokas is as pet thoses, who don't for some reason if you've beenliving untder, a rock or something, of course, George Logas created star wars. Now Star Wars originally came out in one housand, nine hundred and seventyseven. So seventy three is four years before star wars, and he has this ideafor the adventures of Indiana Smith. This is kind of when he was just an upand coming director he made thx one unred and the eight, and I thinkAmerica Graffidi had just come out. So George Lucas was kind of on the COMEUP,but he hadn't had his amazing huge break, obviously with Star Wars. Quiteyet now star wars. If you know the origin of you K, ow, the inspirationGeorge Lucas got for star wars was from these S. science fiction serial TVshows. That's where George Lucas got the idea for star wars, that's a what, where he kind of formed his inspiration for Star Wars from an Indian Jones hasthe same kind of insirration. India Jones was inspired by the adventure.Serials Fo, O th s, and so the two biggest franchises GeorgeLok as ever came up with, were both inspired by these cereals. From backand the day now the production of Indina Jones- or, I should say, IndianaSmith at this time- we're going to reference that here just a minute, because it is a very interesting point to the history of this franchise. Theproduction of Indiana Smith didn't really go anywhere for a few years. Infact, obviously he went on to make star wars well before he made Indiana Smith. He Made Two Star Wars: sons before the first Innia Jones movie. Ever actuallycame out, but in seventy seven after star wars was released. He was having aconversation with a director known as Steven swoolburk. You've, probably alsoheard of these are probably the two most famous filmmakers in the historyof time, so it's Ye know pretty dynamic duo if you will- and he was having aconversation with Spielberg, an Spielberg was fresh off making jaws, which a lot of people cretit jaws as being like the first ever summer, blockbuster movie, and he was also working on close encounters of thethird kind, which is a science fiction. Film and George Lucasan Pilburger.Having conversation in Spielberg addressed to Lucas, he expressed thathe had interest in directing a James Bond Film. Now June's bott movies havebeen around since the early S. it's probably at this point in time the mostfamous movie series of all time. I think it's not a hard thing to sayobviously now star wars and others are a little more popular than James Bond. But at this point in time, in the late es, James Bond is all the rage. JamesBond is the biggest longest running. One of the most influential film seriesat the time, so it's pretty natural that Steven spillburg would haveinterest in directing a James Bond Film. Now, if you have followed Stevensdebroke's career, you would know that never ultimately happened becauseGeorge Lucas was like hey is a doing bond. I actually have a character foryou that he- and I quote this exually...

Codi says I have a character betterthan James MoD and George Lucas went on to describe the plot for the movieraiders of the last dark and said it's like James Bond without the hardwarekind of a weird description, I'm not really sure if it quite fits IndinaJones in the way that I would describe bit, but what other it actually worked.Steven Spielburg Bout this pitch and he's like what's his name and GeorgeLocus, is like Indiana, Smith and Speelberg. Being a genius is like whatabout Jones? What let's get a rid of Smith, make Indiaan Jones and GeorgeLocus? I'm hoping had a realization that Jones is a lot better and rollsoff the tongue a lot better than Indiana Smith. So the name now IndianaJones, which we coun now finally actually start talking about them asIndiaand Jones, instead of having to say snith over and over again stuck andIndia Jones was kind of born that night. Now the inspiration for the nameIndiana actually comes from George Lucas's dog hat Alaskan malament thathe named Indiana a big hairy dog that would often ride in the passenger seatof George Lukes's car. If that kind of sounds familiar, that was also theadditional inspiration for Tubaka obviousy jubaka rides Ino the copilotseat, then Linniam Falcon George locas had inspiration for Shupaka from hiscar. So this dog, this Alaskan malemet named Indiana, inspired Indiana Jonesand it inspired Tubaka. I mean seriously. That is one of the greatestdogs of all time, whogos to that dog. That dog is a real hero that no one'sever really talking about. Now Spielberg was a little reluctant tosign onto this Indiana Jones project at first. He didn't really know what hewanted this to do. What his involvement was to be with this series, but Lucaswas like hey buddy. I got you, you were going to have the reins for an entiretrulogy of Indiana Jones films and I've already got the scripts and storiesworked out. So you don't have to worry about that. You can just direct thesethree movies. You'll have a whole series to direct of these films and, ofcourse that happened all in S. Indian Jones was one of the biggest series ofthat decade. The films came out once every four years kind of a weird thing, usually sems, like star wars, had three years in between at the time, butthenea Jones movies came out once every four years, so we can now fast for WR,N thousand nine hundred and eighty one, which coincides with the release forRaiders of the Lost Arc, so raiders of the last Ark. I believe this film got abest picture nomination. I mean it was a cultural phenomenon and it's thefirst Indian Jones movie. No, I'm not going to summarize the entire plot here, because that could take hours. But essentially I mean it's in the name ofthe Film Raiders of the last Arc. They are looking for the arc of theconvenant from the Old Testament of the Bible, of course, the chest with thecherrboms on top that howls, the ten commitments Moss his staff there's alot of history there, I'm not going to go into that in too much detail. Lookit up if you're interested. I because there is a lot of interesting stuffabout the ARC. If the Covenant now, I feel like India Jones is kind of builtaround this, like biblical Tian Sort of story and the natzis are always tryingto get that biblical power which makes sense. Obviously you know in a worldwhere the Nazis can find the Ark of the covenant. I feel like the Nazis wouldwant the arc of the Covenant and all of the potential powers of God that wouldbe inside the arc of the Covenant and this film I believe its set Li onethousand nine hundred and thirty six, and it focuses on India Jones trying tofind the arc of the cotinant while the Nazis are also trying to find the arcof the Covenant and Spoiler Lert. At the end, the Nazis do goot the dark ofthe Covenant They Open Up and they all die and their faces melt off becauseGod didn't really like the Nazes opening up his arc and they, you knowkind of flew a little too close to the...

...metaphorical son and they all died thatthat's a horrible plot description for raters lost arc, but I'm assuming, ifyou're, watching this you've, probably seen the movie. If you haven't what theheck are, you doing go watch the film it's one of my pall time, favoritemovies and, of course, Harrison Ford. Obviously, Han Solos actor HarrisonFord, his other most iconic movie role as Indian Jones. He's incredible inthis film, such a charismatic and fun lead one of the altime greatest filmcharacters and the kind of sparks of the debate, who's, the better character,Hansolo or Innia Jones. It's insane to me that one actor has two characters, not one but two characters that iconic and it seemed like it'd, be hard todebate against Hansolo. But it's also hard to debate against Indiana Jones. The fact that Harrison Ford portrayed both of those characters so so well, isinocredible. Now fast word, four years later, like I mentioned he four yearbreak between Iniand Jones sequoes, and we have the quote: Unquote: Sequel, tormatoes, N, the last tark the temple of doom. Now the section on a sequel istechnically a prequal to the first film, although this movie is so disjointed tothe first India Jones Film. Besides that thet you know, protagonist IndinaJones is the main character. There's pretty much nothing else in this moviethat matters like it's weird. It's very strange. I am not entirely sure why thedirection of this movie went the way it did. They made this movie, that'scompletely different from the first one. There's no returning characters prettymuch besides Indiana himself and the plot is very, very different and Idon't think quite as fun. I was never a huge fan of temple ADOOM, it's not bad! It's a pretty good movie, it's slightly enjoyable when I compared to the firstand then the third one that will talk about here and just a minute temple adoom and my opinion definitely falls a little bit short now. One Fun thingabout this movie is the opening scene takes place at a place called clubObione in Shanghai, China and obviously clubbw. One is a pretty obviousreference to you know: Star Wars and the rest of the film takes place inIndiana Indiana. No, I'm sorry, India, it's going to get confusing! Hopefullydon't have to makenthat too much that the rest of this episode it takes placein the country, India or Indiana has to give hegus to retrieve a stolenligmanstone to this village and there's craziness an sues. It goes the templeof doom somebody rips his heart out, there's like all this weird seck ofdeadlook stuff, it's kind of Freaky, they're short round and then Lily Scottwho's like the most annoying female character in all of these movies andthere's a mind, cart chase, and then there's a bridge scene and yeah. It'sit's an interesting movie. I don't love the movie, it's definitely my lestfavorite of the original trilogy, it's not terrible, but it definitely doesn'thold up quite as well as the other two speaking of the other two. The finalfilm that original Indian Jones trilogy is the last Crusade and again intherfour year break one thousand nine hundred and eighty nine is when thisfilm came out and this movie, I feel like this movie returned to the roots.I feel like after the sequel, everyone's kind of like way. This isway different and not exactly what I wanted from India Jones film, thefilmmaker Spillberg an liquors are probably like. Okay, let let's revertback and we're going to do a movie where we're searching after a biblicalartifact. This time, instead of the arc of the convenant, is the holy grail and,of course, the Nazis are the bad guys once again, and you know what betterfilm villains are there, the NATZISI, obviously the Empire and Starsessentially the Nazis, I'm pretty sure the Nazis are like the basis for someof the altime greatest villains in film history, if they're not explicitlyNazis in the film, so it just makes sense. It makes these India Jonesmovies better they're set in the ES. It's just you know. Obviously, if theNazis could get their hands potentially on the holy grail that could make themimmortal, I think they would try and...

...get it imaginive Adolf Hitler got theHolygril. That's a horrifying thing to think about now. Of course, this film,The you know most iconic part of this film, is that it also stars SeanConnery as Indina Jonesas, Father Henry Jones senior, and this kind of revertsback to the origans India Jones. When Spielburg said he wanted to direct aJames Bond movie. Well, now, twelve years later after he said at to Lucas,he finally gets a direct, a James Bond actor at out the time, if believeTimothy Dalton was James, bon roger more just ended his run as bond, butSpielberg. Finally, anter all these years, you know he's tot making a JamesBond movie, but he is directing probably the most iconic bond actor ofall time and San Konter. Now Shan Konery is much older, pesdy, fantasticaccent in the movie and the chemistry between him and Harrison. Ford is someof the greatest onscreen of father' Son Chemistry. You will ever ever see inyour entire life, so so fantastic. This is a great film. It's my personalfavorite film in the series is one of my top ten favorite movies of all time.I absolutely adore India Jones and the last crusade. I won't say anything elseabout it: It's just a phenomenal movie and if you have not seen it for somereason, all of these movies are on Netflix right now, your quarantine, youdon't have a lot to do. If you're listening to this, you clearly don'thave a lot to do. Do yourself a favor and watch the Indiana Jones films, especially one and three now the trilogy ends and kind of like how theoriginal trilogy of Star Wars ended. It's like well, Ananne Jones is done, there's no more Indiana Jones movies coming out right and actually even alonger break star wars had a sixteen year break between episode, Six and OneIndia Jones had a nineteen year break nearly two decades. Eighty nine fastforrd nineteen years later to two thousand and eight, and we get the longawaited sequel to the last crusade with the Fort India Jones Film Kingdom ofthe Crystal Skull. Now I honestly could record a three hour long podcast, justranting about this stupid movie. I seriously could came on the crystalskull. Is Such a frustrating and weird film, ater nineteen years kind of likestar wars or the Hobit, and a lot of movie series, the long, ewayed, sequelor precool is just a tremendous let down I feelike. This just happens overand over again with films. Now there were some great ideas in this movie itEn Onethousan N S. obviously, Indian Jones is now in his mids it' set in thefifty he's, an old kind of ruffled Indiana Junes who's, not quite as fastas he used to be Anisod of the Nazis. Obviously, the Nazis didn't exist aftermore war to he's fighting the Russians. You know which I think is kind of thenatural progression of things of the Nazis. Now we have the Russians thatmakes sense or the Soviets is probably the better. You know, use and they'researching actor, interesting art iffects, not biblical, but it's still afairly interesting one. It's the crystal school. It takes place in SouthAmerica which, besides the opening scene for the original Indian Jones,Hales Houth America, was a relatively untapped. You know landmark for IndiaJones to explore, so that's all cool and then, of course, he teams up withMutt Williams, played by shila buff, who is the son of Indiana Jones? Whatyou know is a pretty typical movie shop, where you have the older main characternow teams up with his son and it's the son from Marian- who, I don't think Imentioned earlier, but Marian is the love interest of Indian Jones fromwraiters of the Lost Arc, really fon little tibit about Marian an this movieKaren Alen, the actress that plays Maryian played Mariyn Marian and theoriginal writers had lost Ark Film, her career after this really didn't do well.I think she was like an animal house in eighty two and then, besides, that hercareer took a pretty steep nosedive and...

...she was actually working as a parkinglaw attendant, I believe, is the story when she got the call to return for thesequel of Ania Jone, so this film probably helped her out a good deal, but that's kind of sad and just a very bizarre story that Karen Allen was aparking lot attendant atrestargon India Jones a few decades prior now.Obviously Kodow the crystal skull is a universally just, not super well likedmovie. I don't think the movie on the whole is awful. There are definitelysome good parts, but there's also a lot of terrible parts and spoiler alert theending kind of crosses over the inspirations of George Luke's's career.Obviously I mentioned that Indian Jones was inspired by the ES and S. Adventure, cereals and Star Wars was inspired by the s alien Scifi cereals. Well, forsome reason, George Lucas went to pay amage to thees a fort mentioned. Thelatter mentioned Scifi Alien Cereals in his adventure, serals OMAG, combininghis two biggest inspirations in life and thus giving us an ending were thecrystal Schol is actually aliens in this movie. I remember being in thetheater. I mean it was two thousand and eight. So I was eleven years old and Iwas in the theater watching this movie and I liked the movie for the most partHen, the ending happens, there's aliens and even at eleven I was able torecognize that that was the dumbest ending Thay could have possibly donelike the one thing I never wanted to see in Indiana Jones was freakingaliens and for some reason they went there, which was very unfortunate andit completely ruins the movie. It's such a dumb, dumb, dumb indic, I'm notgoing to say anything more about that, because I could rent for so long aboutparts of this film, especially the alien reveal, but I'm not going to doit because that just be a Wasteo your time- and this is a brick ology- it'snot Indiana Jones Ology. We have to get talking about the Lego sets now. Sothat was your brief history of India Jones. I definitely could have donegottinto a lot more detail, but I hope that was informative and that shouldhelp set the stage for now the LEGO history that we're about to talk about. So, unlike a lot of things, we've talked about here on brick ology thatreally aren't too many Indian Jones sets and total. There are EighteenIndiana Jones sets ever made. One of them was a Sandio comacon exclusive setof a jeep and then thereis one was part of the Lego brickmaster program. Thatwas also a jeep. We're not rer going to talk much about those two sets becausethey're not really specific scenes from the movies, so we're all going to focuson these. Sixteen main boxed sets from these films- and there also was a videogame based off of these Alego Indian Jones video game, which was Super Funnow kind of like the toisery episode. I A toy storty episode a few weeks agoand the toy story episode. I mentioned that they were making sets for toystory three in the summer of two thousand and ten but kind of as aprecursor before they released those sets. They made a wave ofsets based offthe original two toy storied films in the winter, that it is similar thingfor Lord the Rings and the Hobbit, but India Jonesal one of the first examplesof this. So they were going to release a big spring wave of Indiana Jones, setto coincile, with the release Kingdom of the Crystal School in May of twothousand and eight, but in winter O, two thousand and eight they had a smallwave in theand Jones sets based off the original three trilogy Indian JonesFilms. Now that first wave was only four sets. Ther were zero sets based onthe Temple of Doom, which wasn't really a big. Let down to me the time, becauseit wasn't a huge temple of Dome Fan. They were three sets based off fightersha lost arc, so alot o love for raiders, and then one set based off the lastcrusade. Now the last crusade sat speaking of that was actually thesmallest set of this wave. It was Indian Jones Motorcycle Chase, a tendollar set from the last cruisete that...

...included a motorcycle with a side carbill, which was a super cool little bill that had Indian Jones and HenryJones senior. It also had an additional motorcycle whith. They not seequoteunquote Nasy will talk more about why I'm adding the air quotes there forNazis in just a bit also on o Eher, motorcycle chasing them and there's asmall gate to burst through dran reenact, the iconic scene from the film. This was a fabulous ten dollar set. It's an iconic scene, you get an iconiccharacter and you also get Sean cannoras. First, ever legofigure I meanseriously. This was a great ten dollar set. I can't think of anything betterto do for ten dollars than this set amazing set for twenty bucks. We hadIndina Jones and the lost tomb, this recreated the scene from raiders o lastArk, where Indian Jones and Marian go into the tomb in Egypt to recover theARC of the Covenant. It has a nubis statues which last week I mentionedthat I just love Egyptian methology. So something like this is definitely rightup my alley. It had a brick built Arcin, the covenant, which was a super cooldesign. They had some cool little small details and it had very shiny goldpieces. It had a bunch of snakes, of course, to Reinat Indian Jones hatredof snakes, and it's a set that I never got. I hate saying that, but I nevergot this set. This is like one of my bigger regrets, because it's a twentydollar set. You know it's one thing to regret. Not Getting one hundred dollarset, but not getting a twenty ollar set is just sad. I really wish I had thisset and it's going for a lot more on Ebiy now, and it's very sad that Inever got this set hopefully someday. I will be able to pick it up for a decentprice, but as it stands right now, I don't have this set and I really wish Idid. I had every other set from this first wave as well and as kind ofconfusing to me why I just never got that set now. The thirty dollar setfrom this Waye was called the race for the stolen treasure kind of a weirdname. This is a very iconic scene for mators o lost arcus, that iconic momentwhere Indian Jones has his whip and he's being dragged along by the natzisvehicle. Now the Natzi car here, the truck is a very cool vehicle. Has anice cloth backpiece and the stolen treasure is a kind of shiny metallicgold treasure chest with some jewels and coins and stuff inside it should bethe dark of the Covenant. I'm not really sure why this set doesn'tinclude the art of the Covenant when it does come. The last set like it's notlike, like it was afraid to you, know, make a bitlical reference with the Arkof the covenant, but for some reason they just didn't include it. With thisset very strange, I'm not entirely sure the reasoning behind that, but probablynever quite now, it's not quite accurate, but the most part of t is youget to really Nice Nazi vehicles, India Jones on a horse now something I justmentioned, afortmentioned the Nazis. In these sets. I call them Nutz he's Lego, just called them like soldiers or something because Lego was very antiwar. I've mentioned this on brick allogy multiple times they hate war. They hat everything to do with war. They want nothing to be reference withwar and anything they ever make. So these note vehicles Hese not see minifigures hat they look a good bit like what you would expect, but not quitethey're, not quite the level of detail of a normal lego figure, becausethey're Nazis and Legudos like war Lego, an INA, plop swasticuz and not seeingsignia all over their sets and figures. So none of these things are actuallyreferenced as natse stuff. They are obviously and anyone who's bying themprobably knows that, but lego themselves, tesides to withhold theNazi insignia in locos from these sets now the biggest set from the first wayVINEA Jones was thes. Sixty dollar set the temple escape, which recreated theopening scene of raiders of the lost Ark, where he retrieves a golden statuefrom a temple in Peru and of course it has a ball rolling play feature. Itcame with a very odd ball piece, Iwas,...

...almost like a ping pong ball. It was areally cool set. It was a great display piece and, I think, even a better placeset. I had this set and I think this I just have great memories of playingwith this set. You know not too many Lego heds. I have memories of beinglike wow. I love playing with this set, but this set was so so much fun to playwith. It also included a small plane Bild to escape and it had a mini figureof Alfre, malena's, very small part in the first film and just a fun tid bitAlco Melina. You might not recognize that name, but he played Doc, ock andSpiderman. Two fantastic villain in that film he's. Also in the moviePrince of Persia Alfred Milena, was, I believe, the first ever actor to havethree live action. Characters he played in Lego form. There are Sinse, beenactures to join that club, but afer Malina was the first, which is sorandom and funny that he was part of that club, because you know you wouldthink it'd be a more famous actor, but Alfo Malena in fact was the first everlive action. Three LEGOFIG club member and I would probably sayold India Jones-sets that I purchased myself the temple escape from rats. A lost dark in thisway was probably my favorite. I just remember this sit being in samely fun.I love this set recreates an iconic scene and the ball rowing play featureis, unlike anything you'll ever see in another lego set. So that's just atruly fantastic set. Now we have the original wave out of the way we cantalk about these second way of the spring two thousand and eight wave, that's entirely dedicated to kingdom. Of the crystal skuld of Cour, of coursecoincide with the release of the new film. The ten dollar set from this wavewas called jungle duel. I had a very nice cloth tent piece, little campsitestuff. It included Indiana Jones Mut Williams in the Mainville of the filmIreda spalco played by Kate blandshed. This was kate, blanched's, first of aLego figure and like alfro Malina. She is now a part of the threeminifigureclub because of Hella and glad drill from Lord of the ring. So she has threelight: Actuon logo figures as well, which is just kind of funny to thinkabout, but this set here was tendollars. It had, I think, but any pieces, areally nice cloth tent piece, and this set had three of the main characters ofthe film in one set for ten bucks. You do not see that from Lego. Nowadaysthey always love to disperse the main characters of the film throughout theirsets and try to make them as hard as possible to get. But this set did notdo that. It did the opposite. It made it a very good deal and a very easy wayto get. The main figures, hat, I think, is pretty legit. I think this is a veryunderappreciated set for that reason. For twenty dolars we had the riverchase, which included Indian Jones Marian the older version of Marian andsome Russian soldiers and again like the Nazi sholdiers. These Rustansholdiers are unmarked. They have different colord uniforms. You know whothey're supposed to be but they're just getting this generic soldiers they're,not Russians, ire, not member of the SOBIEC union or anything of that sort. They are completely unmarked. This river boat chase included a duck boat,a swallared boat in a tree that could launch a net kind of a weird set, butthe duck boat build, was pretty cool and actually pretty accurate to thescene. From the fill for forty dollars from the came on the crystal Sko Wav,we got the jungle cutter, which was this vehicle that had brand newsobblade pieces that could cut down trees that were actually included withthe set to make away like a little path for the Russians vehicles this scene. The movie is like three seconds long ou see: Thet jungle, cutter, curting outsome trees, and then you like never see it again. It's completely meainglistento film and Super Randoms. I'm kind of surprised lego actually made a set ofthis, but a pretty cool and very unique vehicle ind they had India Jones and ithad. I think five mini figures is a very cool vehicle. INTUDENCISintroduced some cool pieces at had a lot of dark green pieces, so, while avery random set for them to make it was a super cool and very unique vehiclefor them to make in this wave jumping...

...forward to the a dollar and biges setfrom this way. That was the temple of the Crystal Skull, and this is thebiggest Indina Jones set ever in terms of peace. Count has over nine hundredpieces, this of course reenacts the famous final scene from Kingdom of theCrystal Skull. You have the weird like opening a door monument part of thethings that swing out. There was a cool play feature with that, and then ofcourse, you had the crystal skullroom that had a spinning round play featureto reenact the scene where they, you know, form together and make the alien. Now the set had no references to the actual alien part of that film. ThankGod, like I ti, actually include like a flying saucear at this, I'm assumingthey weren't allowed to because of spoilers for the movie at the time theydidn't do that, which is good, but it was a big set. It was a pretty goodlooking said it had some good play, features cool vehicles, lots of minifigures, and it also had a giant base. Plat Liei used to use these huge, customized baseplate pieces to make big play. Sets like this. They don't dothat anymore. It's been a long time since they've NCLUDIN, one of thosewath they set, but this one in particular had a very large base. Playepiece N, it's a very good looking set despite being a pretty awful scene fromthe film now there was one more set from this way. There was actually atoysarus exclusive. It was called peril in Peru. It was fifty dollars. It had alot of the formbage o many figures. We've already talked about thit, don'tthink there were any exclusive characters in this set, but it was avery nice airplane. It was a really nice looking old Ne Thousand ninehundedand fifty style commercial airplane. I think just looked fantastic. It was agreat looking airplane build and I actually got this set and I loved thisset. It was a great great set that I think you could remove from the contextof the movie and still love the set. It wasn't really an iconic scene from themovie being portrayed or anything, but it was just a great build. It was agreat deal hed over six hundred pieces for fifty bucks, lots of maincharacters and a truly spectacular airplane, build with little airportvehicles and buggies on the side as well. Absolutely wonderful set. I lovedthat set now, let's jump forty year to the year, two thousand and nine, because India Jones continues into two thousand and nine and we get our thirdwave, the winter two thousand and nine wave, which is a small way. The very, very small WAV this wave was just two sets just two sets. We had thethirtydollar Shanghai Chase, which is kind of similar to the treasure chasethat we've already mentioned a few minutes ago. It was a thirty dollar set,it had two vehicles, you had five Mini Figures: U Got India Jones and a WhiteTuck from club Ob, one Willi Scott and short round, and of course, you'veprobably already noticed. This was the first ever temple of Doom set. The onlymad two sets ever from the temple. Af Doom is the first one they made anytemple of doom sets. It's based off the opening scene from the temple of DoomRight, ater, Indiand Jones leaves the afort mentioned club Obe on in hisTuxedo, so you had an exclusive variant of Indiana in this, and you also hadthe gangsters chase and then, with their black car, really cool, build. Two great car builds the India Jones car billheading Nice cloth, roof piece. This is a great set. It's not you know my favorite movie, but it's a goodsceme the movie and it's a fantastic representation of that scene and fivemini figures is very generous. The other set from this third way was afifty dollar set based off Raders of the lost Ark. This was the Fu fight onthe flying wing and a hard name to say could be dollar set, and this is thatscene in Raders a lost ark where Indiana Jones is battling that hugeshirtless mechanic guy. This guys is absolutely huge and they're having apretty intense kind of boxing match. On top of the flying wing, Airpla MoleMary, an is trying to shoot up some people. It's a really cool vehicle, really huge vehicle used that massive Lego city, airplane piece. I meanseriously it's a gigantic lego piece: it used that piece a lot of stickers onit, but again this vehicle had no Nazi INSIGNA. They actually kand o changethe colors up, just a bit o make it a little bit more quote, Unquote Kidfriendly, which I think is pretty...

...interesting. It also included a tankertruck that had an exploding play fuature because it does explode in thefilm. They did not include a play feature of how the mechanic dies andthe movie he gets sucked into the Ruder of the airplane and becomes chunkswhich is kind of funny to think about, and also pretty horrific. I understandwhat Lega wouldn't recreate that in their set, but it's a cool set. It's areally nice set it's a big set. It was a gigantic bill. One of the biggerairplanes LEGO has ever made. It use the Jida innerceptor cocppit piece wor,the uniq print on it, which I thought was pretty cool and also the back cupetpiece was the Didi Star fighter, compen piece of both that Stedi Star fighterand Sud. I intersecter cockpit pieces are beeing used for this Indiana Jonesar pledgets of furthet connections between Indian Jones and Star Wars, even in Lego form, and this set kind of. To my surprise, I was a littlesurprised at this. My anstagram followers voted this as the best IndiaaJones Tet. I think it is one of the Best Ningin Jone said it's a great set.I was a little surprised that it was the one that, like actually anoverwhelming amount of people, are like yeah. That's my faorite sat the flyingwing. That's the best inean Jone Tet, a Ot F. People said that I was. I waspretty surprised. I was pleasantly surprised to see that that one won thebest Indian Jones set of all time FRY. My fallowers is kind of pepting, youknow, maybe the temple one or the temple of doom set or something likethat to win, but nope. This set one, which was really the first time that Iwas shocked by the result of what set one the best set of a particular theme, the first time brickology for that. So I thought that was pretty interesting,so that wave India Jones sets very small, just two sets, and that summerwe had our final Indian and Jones wave. Five Indian Jones sets or release, andeach movie got at least one set with the last tuse. Getting two sets buththe first fet the tendollar set, which India Jones has already had some greattendollar sets, and this just adds to that list. It was the Ambishian Caironotenically. It was actually an eleven dollar set kind of a weird funky price, but that's kind of besides the point. It's essentially ten dollar set anmbishan CAIRODE had Marian in Indiaa Jones N. This recreats the scene from writers ofthe lost arc ore that guy has a huge gimitar sword and he's torling itaround he's abut the killine. An Jones and Indian just pulls out his gun andshoots him, because that guy brought a sword to a gun, fight a hilarious scene,an iconic moment from the first Indi angines movie being recreated in asmall and fun Lego, said that also included a big barrelpiece for Marianto hide in, and some small Egyptian street stand builds very good. Tendollar set for twenty dolars, the most forgetable set from this wave was theChachilla cemetery battle. This is baseolk kingdom. The Crystal Skull kindof weird, I kind of think it's weird that they actually made this set, because this came out a year after kingdom, the Crystal School, the moviehad come out, and it surprises me that Lego was like let's Meck anothercrystal skull set, because you know people didn't really like that movieand I'm kind of surprised, Lego even made another crystal skullset after themovie initially came out. I was twenty dolar set, had mut Williams'smotorcycle Indian Jones, and it had a couple of the guys with the below darts.Although those are just blank, let iffer blade pieces and Brown Prettylameset. It did come with a concusadors, Keleton and thet was that believe thecheapest way to ever get the crystal scool piece, but all in all, I thinkthe set is kind of underwhelming. It just wasn't a great set at all.Definitely the most forgettable set from this last wave of Indian Jonessets for fortydollars. We had the Venus Canal Chase ow. This is an iconic scenefrom the last crusade is a forty dollar set. It had Indiana Jones and Elsa thelove interest from that film finally, kind of completing our collection oflove, interest, Mani figures. It had two boats that had cool play features. We could actually explode them and break them in half it also had a nicebridge build from Vignas, to kind of you know, add to the scenery of thechase scene and also even had the thugs with feazes on that Sai. The first hadto introduce the Lego fecpiece that his...

...still being used today for fun detaillike the engines on the miniu model of a space shuttle in the Lego IdeasInternational Space Station set- I mean seriously. This set introduced a veryuseful piece. It was a great scene, one of my favorite scenes for my favorite,India and Jones Film. I got this sat day. One remember I was so hyped whenit came out. This is a fantastic set. One of my personal favorite IndinaJones sets one set that I really wish I got, but I didn't was the fifty dollarset the fihe plane attack. This was also, of course, based off the last Crusay Magan its the only movie in this five sent wave to get to different sets, and this included the biplane that Indian Jones and his dead Henry Jonessenior our fly Indian Jones's flag and, of course, Henry Jones is using theguner replacement at the back. It also included a loose representation of aNazi mesure Schmidt, which is the fighter playing the Nazis, use andWorld War. Two again, no one signia. It wasn't. You know marked Nazi oranything, but it atually did a pretty good job of making. It look like atMatter Scmitten, I'm sure a lot of ward war. Two fans were extremely excited toget this particular vehicle in an official Letgo form great set, ofcourse, this scene again, I keep using this word iconic, but there areseriously so many iconic moments from Inia Jones Ind. This set represents oneof the most iconic scenes from the last crusade represents that fighter planescene. I wish they somehow included a blimp, but that would have made the setlike hundred of dollars more great, set great scene. It's a set that I reallyreregret not getting today and finally another set that, I regret regret, regret. That's on a word. I regret not getting is the temple of doom. This wasa ninetydolar set from this way, making it the most expensive Indian Jones setever, and it's also the biggest just in terms of size. However, it had like twohundred less pieces than the AFOR mentioned Kingdom of the Crystal SkullTemple set. This set is pretty epic, I don't love the movie, but it recreates.I think the most memorable moment from the film, which is the mine, Cart Chase. It has a giant track of mindcart pieces, which is super cool and I'm sure so somuch fun to play with it looks great on display it's huge. I really wish I gotthis set, and this set is incredibly expensive online these days, so I'mprobably never going to get this set unless I just find it for a great deal, and I kind of thought this set might have won the vote for the best IndiaJones set. It didn't the flying wing set still one, but I kind of hed. Thisone might win, and I think if I had it, it would probably be my favorite, Indiaand Jone set. I just didn't prioritize. The temple of Doom sets back in the dayas much as I did set on the last crusade or writers the lost arc, so Iunfortunately never got this set. I really wish I did, and unfortunately, all of my Lego, India Jones sets are completely destroyed. Not a single oneis still bilt. I was eleven and twelve years old when these sets came out. It's very sad, very, very sad that I just don't have any of them builtanymore. I wish I did because I would have an epic Indian Jones display, maybe someday I'll, rebuild them or rebuy the sets, but as it stands rightnow, my Indian Jones collection is destroyed, I'll, be a preysizable sizecollection. I really wish I still had those sets built, so there you have itthat is Leco, Indian and Jones.
