LEGO Harry Potter 20th Anniversary

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

20 years ago today, the iconic books of Harry Potter made their silver-screen debut with Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone! To celebrate the anniversary of the series, LEGO created a plethora of 20th-anniversary special edition sets, including collectible gold minifigs, homages to the original sets, and more! On the latest episode of Brickology, LegoLee explains these special LEGO Harry Potter sets in detail!

Good morning, good afternoon, goodevening, whenever wherever you are listening. Thank you so much for making mea part of your day. My name is Lee parmy. Might know meas Lego Lee or Lego Lee. Three, two, nine from facebook, instagram, twitter, Youtube, pature on your name it. I'm all overthe Internet. In this is the brick Ology podcast, the study of smallplastic bricks. How are you doing today? I sincerely hope you're having an absolutelyfantastic day and welcome back to brick ology. Not Quite once a weekin terms of the you know, being seven days apart, but I believethis is the third straight week with an episode of brick oology. I amvery excited to be getting back on a slightly more consistent schedule and one ofthe reasons that I'm able to record an episode of brick oology this week isbecause today is Veterans Day. Today I am recording brick ology. Won't beposted today, but I have work off. Shout out to my company for givingus all of the federal holidays off. That is a huge plus and definitelyhelps me get time to record these episodes of the show. So thatis super exciting and about an hour or so I'm going to go see eternalsagain in theaters. If you want to hear my thoughts on the Lego eternals, marvel super heroes sets stream the last episode of Brick Ology, and oneof the reasons I want to see the movie again is to kind of finalizemy thoughts on the film before I record an episode of my other podcast, are you not. So look forward to, hopefully this weekend, a review forthe movie of eternals on the are you not podcast. Now this isthe episode that, I think for a couple of weeks here I have kindof been teasing ever ecology. I've been saying there's going to be some topicalsurprise episodes of the show. The reason that they weren't exactly planned is becauseI was hoping to have, you know, completed this entire season of brick oologyby this point. However, that is not how the cookie crumbled. So I am now kind of reorienting how I'm doing season six of brick oology. There's going to be, I believe, about four additional episodes added to thisseason, going along with the planned episodes I had on my original schedule, meaning this season is going to be massive. It's going to be likea seventeen, eighteen episode season. I am super excited about that and thisis a fun episode today because it continues on with the series I've done onpretty much every season of brick oology besides the first one, I believe. But it's a very special thing and I will explain that here in just aminute. But before we get started, I want to say something. I'mdoing this podcast a little bit different because this is a bonus episode that Iwasn't originally planning on doing at this point in time. I figured maybe nowis a better time than ever to experiment with the way I record these episodes. Basically, when I write a script for Bricology, it's not word forword what I end up saying in the PODCAST, but it's an extremely detailedoutline. I essentially treat brick oology kind of like a lecture. That's basicallywhat this podcast is. It's a Lego history lesson lecture and I have liketen to fifteen pages of notes for every single episode and it takes a longtime. Man Like writing one of those scripts can take like four to fivehours. It is an intense process. Getting all of those details down. And you know what, my are you not podcast has very few notes. The very mainly muppet show has even less notes, and I think here, you know, I'm pretty good at ad libbing. I think that's one ofmy best God given talents, and I was like, you know what,Lee, let's try and add Lib brick ology a little bit more, becauseobviously I've struggled to make these podcasts consistently...

...over the past few months or sosince getting my new job. So essentially what I'm going to try and dohere is Adlib a little bit more. I have some very basic notes, but then I'm going to flip over to brick setcom, the Lego Internet database, and look at the pictures of the sets and kind of Addlib off ofthat rather than writing everything down on my notes. Now there could be awful, this could go horribly and I don't explain things well and I miss abunch of stuff and if it sucks, it sucks and I'll go back tomy old style. However, if it goes well and I'm happy with it, this could become the new normal here on brick oology. We'll just haveto wait and see how that goes. But if it does become a newnormal, I'll probably be able to consistently upload episodes of this podcast, moreso than before. But, of course, before we jump into this week's topic, let me shamelessly plug myself here for just a minute. Go findme online. You can follow me on Facebook, instagram, twitter, Youtubeand you consider supporting me on Patreon, Lego, lead through to nine onall of those pages. I've also already alluded to my other podcast. Thereis are you not, which is about entertainment and pop culture, and thenthere's the very manly muppet show goes. Find those podcasts as well streaming, and they're both on Instagram, to and finally, whatever streaming service you arelistening on, hit me with the follow. If you're on spotify, if youare on apple podcast, subscribe and maybe consider writing a review for thisshow. You can write a written review and rate me out of five stars. I would love to hear your feedback about this podcast. All right, announcements plugs out of the way, let's jump in and do this special episodeof brick oology. So one miniseries that I've been doing for five seasons noworiginally started in season two of brick oology is, of course, Lego HarryPotter and I had been working through Lego Harry Potter in Chronological Order within thefilm so I started off with the first Harry Potter movie. On the lastseason of brick ecology I talked about the goblet of fire, the Fourth HarryPotter movie, and for this season I do have a Harry Potter and theOrder of the Phoenix episode planned, and that episode will still happen. Don'tworry, I'm not like completely canceling that episode of brick oology. However,Lego did kind of a weird thing this year. For the past few years, since they brought Harry Potter back in two thousand and eighteen, they'd essentiallybeen doing sets based off the movies in orders. The first year was mostlysets from the first two Harry Potter movies and then in two thousand and nineteenit was like here's Harry Potter sets from three and four, and last yearit's like here are sets from five and six. There have been a coupleof exceptions to that rule. Hasn't been one hundred percent completely that way,but for the most part they've been following that rule. So I think mostpeople thought this year for Lego Harry Potter was going to be based off HarryPotter's seven and eight, which, obviously, for the book is just seven, but for the movies there is a seventh and then eight, which arethey first and second parts of the deathly hallows. However, that is notwhat happened. Instead, Lego did this entire twenty anniversary collection of Lego HarryPotter sets. Now, Lego has been no stranger to anniversary stuff here lately. This year also just so happened be the ten inner nursary of Ninjago, and then a couple of years ago, in two thousand and nineteen, wehad the twenty anniversary of Lego Star Wars and they've been doing a bunch ofspecial precoke, you know, kind of fun stuff for the twenty anniversary ofthese themes, and Harry Potter got a lot of stuff for the twenty anniversary. Now, technically these sets came out all the way back in June. However, the twenty anniversary of the sorcerer stone premiering in theaters for North Americais the date I'm uploading this episode, and that is November sixteen. TwoThousand and one. Technically, it came...

...out two days earlier in the UnitedKingdom on November fourteen, and then I believe it premiered like November fourth orsomething, but that was the world premiere. I'm go ahead and guessed that noneof y'all were actually at the royal premiere of Harry Potter and the sorcerer'sstone all the way back twenty years ago. However, I am going to datemyself a bit now. One the reason I'm using the American release stateis because, well, I'm American, and the way I'm going to datemyself here is I remember seeing this moving theaters. Now, technically I havebeen told that I saw star wars episode one in theaters in ninety nine.Same thing with toy story too, in ninety nine. However, I actuallyhave like a weird memory in the back of my head of going to seeHarry Potter and the Sorcerer Stone in movie theaters when I was only four yearsold. I was not very old at the time and definitely dating myself herejust a little bit. And now you guys can struct a theorize about howold Lego Lee actually is. And One more thing that I'm going to useto date myself, and I believe I told this story when I did myfirst Harry Potter episode about the Sorcerer Stones Sets. Is I remember my unclebuying me and my brothers the original two thousand and one Lego Harry Potter hogwartsset for Christmas that year and I don't know if we ever really built itin full, but we definitely messed around with this set a good bit.So, all of that being said, obviously leg a Harry Potter is veryimportant to me. I have tons of memories about Harry Potter and the Legosets based off of it, so I was very excited for this twenty anniversaryof Lego Harry Potter. Now, if you want to hear more of mythoughts on the original lego Harry Potter sets that these new sets are kind ofalluding to, please go check out the other episodes of brick Ology I didabout Lego Harry Potter one through four, because well, that was a horriblevoice guy one through for I'm gonna leave that in, but that was ridiculous. But Co check out those episodes of brick oology. Now, most ofthe newer stuff, prisoner of Azcab and beyond doesn't really matter to today's episodeof Brick Ology. There is one specific prisoner of Azkaband set, but mostof it is based off the original to Harry Potter movies and they're definitely kindof alluding to the the original Harry Potter films as well. And lego reallywent all out. They made more sets than they did for the twenty anniversaryof Star Wars. There are more collectible mini figures, there's a bunch ofthese crazy little card pieces that are turned in throughout all of these sets. For today's episode I'm not going to talk about every single two thousand and twentyone Lego Harry Potter set. They have the book sets as a couple ofsets. It don't really fit within this theme. Those sets technically really aren'tthe twenty anniversary sets. I'm only going to talk about this sets that comewith the cards, but not even really the cards. Mostly I'm going totalk about the sets that come with the collectible gold mini figures. Those arethe twenty anniversary sets particular that I'm going to talk about here today, andthey really make you buy a lot of sets for a lot of money tocollect this entire collection because there is a ton of stuff going on. Acouple of sets here that are kind of part of the twenty anniversary collection butfor time's sake I'm not going to focus on today. Is One there isa polybag that comes with Hermione and a small desk in an owl and likea candle, nothing crazy'd write home about, but this poly bag that does includeone of these chocolate frog cards and essentially what those are is Lego inthese sets through in these chocolate frog cards. Obviously, if you've watched the movie, that's one of the candies they get from the trolley. The chocolatefrog itself comes to life and jumps away and there's always a collectible trading cardinside. And Lego made sixteen different cards with some famous wizards on them andthey include random ones in all of these...

...sets. I still haven't even finishedthat collection. I believe I have thirteen out of sixteen. I need toorder the ones I'm missing off brick leak at some point. But the setsinclude a different varying number of them. So like the smaller sets come withone or two, the medium size sets might come with for and then someof the bigger sets might come with like six and each to collect all ofthose cards sets, and they are thrown throughout a lot of these sets. And the small polybag, which is, you know, obviously only a fivedollar polybag, does come with one, which does make it a little biteasier to collect, so that is pretty cool. Also, there's a coupleof the cards included with the advent calendar, but there is no anniversary figure inthe Advancundar. So I will not be focusing on that set here today. But let's jump in and talk about the twenty anniversary set themselves in particular. The first set we're going to talk about here today is the twenty two, hundred and seventeen piece set of the hogwarts poly juice potion. Mistake. This set, oh my goodness, this set one definitely a highly requested scenefor Lego to make from Harry Potter and it comes with a figure that alot of people wanted Lego to include, perhaps in a Harry Potter Blind BagSeires, which side note I still haven't completed Harry Potter series to minifigures.I have no idea why. I really need to get on that, butweird side out at the way, this is definitely a scene and there's afigure included with this set that people have been dying for. And this isa small set but it packs so much punched. So the figures included here, of course, are the big three, Harry, Ron and Hermione. However, they're all exclusive variance because they are all wearing slytherin robes, becausethey do take over slithering people and additionally, they have doubles headed faces so theycan turn into those characters from Slytherin. So obviously Harry and Ron turn intocrab and Goil, and then Hermione is supposed to turn into millicent. Both strolls, I believe, is her name. However, she gets acat hair and then becomes the iconic cat Hermione, and they made a brandnew piece that's kind of like a helmet. It goes over a minifigure head,so it looks a little weird, but it does have the cat Hermioneears molded in with the hair. It's a great looking figure. I LoveCat Hermione here. As for Harry and Roun, they get additional hair pieces, which is very cool, and of course you can kind of recreate thescene in the movie where like they're kind of half turning back into those charactersare gaining like getting their red hair and their scars back, and you canmix and match the different hair pieces and face prints, which I really love. As of course, with all these sets, like I alluded to,we are getting these twenty anniversary gold mini figures and the gold figure included withthis set is Golden Harry Potter. Really cool that. Of course, themost iconic character comes in the smallest set, so he is very easy to get. As for the build itself, it's just one room of hogwarts andthat, of course, is the abandoned girls bathroom where morning myrtle gets killedby the basilis way back in the day. You get one little bathroom stall where, of course, Cat Hermione can hide, which is pretty cool. The rest of the build is pretty much just the sink, or less apiece of the sink. It looks cool, has some nice kind of mirror stickerson a nice design. It's very cramped and there, but it lookspretty good and there is a playability feature where you can lift it up togo into the chamber secrets. Now, obviously the Chamber of secrets is notincluded in this tiny twenty dollars set. However, Lego with all of thesenew hogwarts sets, they made a modular system to connect them together. Nowyou're probably like, well, Leo, thought they did that what the otherhogwarts sets? Yes, the hogwarts sets from two thousand and eighteen through twothousand and twenty have had a modular style,...

...but not in the way these setshave. Lego essentially has modernized the modular style the original hogwarts sets fromtwo thousand and one and two thousand and two had, where they kind ofstack on top of each other to build a bigger hogwarts display. They dothe exact same thing here, just with some more modern building techniques. Nowa lot of people were kind of mad about this because they've been kind ofdedicated to this new style of hogwarts sets in the past few years and thenthis way doesn't really fit in with that style. And I kind of agreewith you in some ways, because it's like, well, now we havethese hogwart sets that are all new, but they're kind of mixed and matchedand don't all fit together. However, I do love and have tons ofnostalgia for this style of little vignettes that kind of stack on top of eachother. And you can rearrange and make a big hogwarts display. And nowthat I have all of these new hogwarts sets, I'm very happy. Witha display itself, I will say it doesn't look particularly attractive from the outside. The other new style of hogwarts sets do. Those sets look great fromthe outside. These ones don't look great from the outside, but the individualrooms themselves art full of tons of cool designs and playability, which I doreally like. So I'm actually displaying this hogwarts from the inside and not fromthe outside, which is very interesting. And this is just one small chunk. It has no roof or anything, but it does have technic connections toconnect it to other sets and it has some places you can connect it toother sets on the top and of course it can from the bottom as well. And overall, for a twenty dollar set there's a ton of stuff includedhere. You get some great poly juice and material, great pieces, greatmini figures, two of the cards, a golden figure and, of course, a brand new mold for cat hermione's head. This set is fabulous fortwenty dollars. I absolutely love it. Moving on to twice the price, here we have the hogwarts fluffy encounter a forty set with three hundred and ninetyseven pieces, and this set is kind of a direct remake of the fluffyset from two thousand and one, and this set is not very good, unfortunately. I really think Lego drop the ball when it comes to this set. First off, like I said, these new style of hogwarts sets don'tlook great from the exterior. This set looks so plain from the exterior.Does not look like a two thousand and twenty one lego design. It's veryplain and ugly and uninspired. Now when he moved to the Interior, itsomehow doesn't really get that much better. There's basically the main room here, which is where fluffy is, and that's great. Obviously there's a room forfluffy. Now. The fluffy design here is not a big FIG. Itis a brick built character, but does have a brand new mold for histhree heads. The head mold looks fantastic. I love that. The rest ofthe body one there's some weird black and great pieces that stick out likesort of thumbs and make it look awfully robotic. So that's not great andit just looks weird. It doesn't look organic. It doesn't work super wellas a brick built character and I think Lego should have made this a bigfigure, a custom creature mold like they did back in two thousand and onehead looks great. Articulation is a little bit better, but besides that, nothing to write home about. And the room with fluffy is literally just atrapdoor in a completely empty room, which makes some sense, and the trapdoordoes lead to Devil's snare, which legos attempt a devil snare here is likethree vine pieces. It's very underwhelming. And the other room is like abalcony where you can put the brick built...

...harp, which is like comically largeand looks silly to me. Not Crazy about that. And then you haveone tower spire that has some stickers and some interesting pieces in the side andaccessories, which are nice. But overall this is just not a very attractivelooking set and it is not a great design and the mini figures, whichI say for last here, are so boring. You get the big three, but they're just in typical hogwarts robes. Nothing crazy about the figures included withthis set either, but of course you do get the highly collectible GoldenHermione figure, so that is nice. But all around I think this isdefinitely a missed opportunity of a set and one of the worst like a HarryPotter sets they have done here in recent memory, doubling in price yet again. We have the Hogsmead village visit, an eighty dollar set with eight hundredand fifty one pieces. This is our first set, of course, basedoff the prisoner of Ascaband, and you get two separate buildings from hogs mead. You get the three broomsticks and which's of course like the pub and hogsmeade. Would they serve the iconic butter beer? And you get honey dukesas well. But before we talked about that, let's talk about the minifigures included here. You get Harry Potter and his prisoner of Azkaband street clothes. He has come in a number of sets. The rest of the charactershere are pretty unique. You get mcgonagall here with her hair piece and nother hat. Uses the Suma Wrestler hairpiece and kind of a dark Tan.That works pretty well. You get Dean Thomas, who is not a supercommon character in Lego Harry Potter sets. He has a really nice kind ofwindbreaker print that I quite enjoy and the other three characters here you get Mrsflume and Mr Flume who, of course are the owners of honey Dukes,I believe, and they look great. Fantastic prints for them. And thenfinally you get Madam Rose Merta, I believe I'm saying that correctly, whois the owner of the three broomsticks. She uses this a garding worriver hairpiece from the ghostbusters sets. She is a great looking figure as well. And for additional accessories you also get three of the chocolate frog cards for ofthe chocolate frog cards, which is a nice inclusion here to so overall theselection of figures here is great and of course also you get the Golden RonWeasley collectible figure for the twenty anniversary, which I really like. As forthe builds here, there are three small side builds. One is a benchwith some snow, the other one is a lantern lamp post in the street, and then finally you get a small stickered sign of a serious black wantedposter. That looks pretty cool. But the side builds are just kind ofto make scenery for the main builds here, which these main builds look fantastic. They're definitely a little bit undersize, obviously, but they look so,so good. In my opinion. Honey Dukes is something I've wanted to seeand Lego for a very long time, since the original prisoner of Azkaband wayback in two thousand and four, and I think they did a wonderful jobhere. Yeah, it's small on the inside, but they pack a tonof punch and there's a cool thing where some of the extra candy display standscan be removed to fit minifigures inside. That is very cool. The roofhas a great shape. There's a nice storage uptop as well. Overall, great look for honey dukes. And then the three broomsticks has a nice stickeron the door for those shrunken heads, which I believe they're drunken heads, actually curse and that movie, which surprises me because it is a PG ratedmovie for the prisoner of Azkaband. The rest of the interior for three broomstickslooks really plain. It's very blocky and kind of looks like what you'd tookan interior from like a two thousand and ten leg a Harry Potter set, looking like so not my favorite, but I love the roof again. Thesecond floor has a nice fireplace and some...

...good additional detail and overall I thinkthe exterior here looks a little bit better than the interior, but the interioris not something to poop Poo on. It's still pretty well done. Andthe price, they're not super big build so it kind of feels a littlebit over priced. However, the price to part ratio is great and includingthe golden figure you get seven figs and this set, and a lot ofthem, are brand new and exclusive characters that I believe Harry Potter fans willbe super excited to add to their collection. So overall I think this is definitelyone of the more complete sets from this wave and it's not bogged downby the weird new style of hogwarts set. This set can stand on its owneven if you have collected the older style of Lego hogwarts sets. Sooverall, Hogsmead village visit is a really solid set. The price range forthese sets goes up drastically yet again. Not Quite double this time, butwe go from eighty bucks to one hundred and thirty for the hogwarts chamber ofsecrets now. Ever since they started making new leg a Harry Potter sets,I have been clamoring for a new chamber of secrets. We got that awfulbasilisk design with the two thousand and eighteen hoguarts great all set. That wasa complete joke. This set makes up for some sins of the past andgives us a new chamber of secrets that is definitely a good allusion to thetwo thousand and one and two thousand and two Lego Harry Potter sets. Butof course the mini figures here. There are so mini figures included with thisset, starting off with Harry Potter, who does include the sword of Godrickgryffindor great figure here. Surprisingly, there is no ron or Hermione, butyou do get a ton of really cool hogwarts students. Obviously, when youhave a chamber of secret scene you get all the characters that are petrified, and literally every single petrified character is included with this set, besides Hermione,so that's kind of interesting. But you do get Jenny Weasley here with TomRiddles diary. That is very cool. You get Colin Creevy with his camera, which is great to see. You get a nearly headless nick glow inthe dark figure. Definitely not necessary because they made a version in two thousandand eighteen, but this one does go on the dark, which is verycool. You also get a young Luna love good. She does not appearin the movie, but you know obviously she would have been at hogwarts atthis time and it's cool to get a young version of the character here. That is a great addition to this set. You also get Justin Finch, fletchedLee, who is really only seen in this movie dilt during that duelingscene when Harry Potter makes a snake appear and, you know, talks parceltongue to it. Very cool figure included as well. To the student figureshere are fantastic. The adult characters are great to you do get Tom Riddleincluded with this set, slightly different than the version that came with the booka couple of years ago. Nice Tom Riddle figure included with this set.As for some of the professor's here you get dumbledore and a very pink robe. That looks pretty nice to me. You get Professor Lock Cart, adifferent version than the one that comes with the diagon alley set from two thousandand twenty. No cake for lock cart, but a nice torso print and Ilove his face print as well. A brand new figure that has nevercome and any lego Harry Potter's head before, is Professor Aurora Sinestra. She looksgreat. I love her hair hat combination and some great printing all around. So that is ten mini figures plus, of course, the golden mini figureof Voldemolt Volti Molte Volti Molt Voldemolt, great gold voldemort figure included here. It's kind of weird because obviously voldemort himself in this form is not inthe movies until the fourth film. But overall I think it's a great figureto get in gold form. And in...

...addition you also get two Cornish pixies, which are brand new molds and I absolutely love them. So so manycreatures here. There's a couple of owls included as well. And then finallyyou get a brick built basilisk. Now this basilisk is brick built in likethe midsection, but the tail and the head are very specialized serpent looking piecesand the new head mold looks great. It's not a super big basilisk.I think it could have definitely been a little bit bigger, but overall Ithink it works out pretty well and is a big improvement on the other versionsof the Basilisk Lego has done in the past. Moving on to the buildof this set. Here the bottom floor, of course, is the chamber ofsecrets. You get a big brick built version of the head of SalazarSlytherin. That is a very cool design because it mimics the look of aLego minifigure head but in a very big way, and the mouth can openup to have the basilisk slide through. That is a great detail. There'salso a great use of the Ninjago serpent face piece on the side. Thatlooks very cool. As for the rest of the bottom floor, you getthis kind of small side build for the door to the chamber of secrets thatuses some in Jago pieces yet again, looks pretty cool, but it alsodoesn't really connect to the rest of the build in a natural way, soI'm not entirely sure what that's about. And you do get a slide piece. Now for this set the slide piece is completely useless. However, ifyou attach the bathroom set on top, you can line the two up andjump in from the bathroom into to the slide and it goes down to thebottom floor with some bones, which is a fun accurate detail. Doesn't reallywork if you only get this set, but of course if you get othersets you can expand the whole thing and make it very cool, which isa nice playability function. As for the other floors, you get kind ofrepresentation of the Great Hall, which is also supposed to be kind of likethe dueling classroom. Nothing crazy here. You get you dumbledore with his pedestal, with the Golden Owl, which I like, some Nice printed serial piecesand there is a feature to flip the table. So That's interesting but overallnot my favorite version of the Great Hall. And then you also get the defenseagainst the dark arts classroom, which is way too small if you askme. I love the sticker of the portrait of lock art painting a portraitof himself. That is fantastic, but besides that just a couple of smalldesks, nothing crazy going on there. Up Top you do get kind ofa smaller presentation of an astronomy tower with a telescope and then you get Lockhart'soffice with all of his self portraits and his desk. So over all,the other floors here are amazing, but I think for the most part theydid a pretty good job representing the Chamber of secrets and it definitely can beexpanded on and made better, considering getting the other sets, which I diddo, and that definitely makes it a little bit cooler in my opinion. It's very expensive. It's not the best hogwarts set out there, but Ido think for the most part it was a win. Moving on from that, now we have all of the retail exclusive sets from the twenty anniversary, but also include gold figures. I believe this set was an exclusive at target, and that is hogwarts wizard chess. It includes the big three here, but in their specialized outfits they wear during this wizard chess scene in the movie. I love the look of these figures, they're all exclusive and that it's agreat inclusion. And you get the gold figure here of Snape, agreat character to get in this form, which is very cool. Three ofthe cards are included as well, and...

...the build is literally a chessboard. This set has one of the goodest play features of all time because it's asixty four by sixty four chessboard with every single piece. So literally you canactually recreate the scene from the movie of playing chess, but you can alsojust use it as a chess board itself and played the real game of chessand Lego form if you want to. And I especially love the ponds usingthe two thousand and eleven mining helmet piece. That is a very fun part.Usage the rest of the chess pieces are a little bit small. Ithink they could have been slightly bigger to be more accurate to the film. Not Crazy about that. You can't really put Ron convincingly on one of thenights. It's not amazing in my opinion, but overall it gets the job done. It looks very cool and it's just a fun novelty to have thisset. And this set was a great deal. Sixty Bucks, eight hundredand seventy six pieces. That is a fantastic priced apart ratio, you getfour really good figures and you get a very large and playable chess board.I really love all of that about this set. So this set here isa win and my opinion, finally, for kind of normal sets, wehave the hogwarts first flying lesson a thirty dollar set with two hundred and sixtyfour pieces. That was a retail exclusive at coals. Coals has only beenselling Lego for a couple of years now. Ever, since toys are as kindof shut down, they kind of jumped in and try to sell someLego for themselves and they had their first ever exclusive lego set with this one. Now, this set here is part of the twenty anniversary collection. Youget two of the chocolate frog cards. You get a gold figure of professorcoral. Um. I don't understand this one. I mean Professor Coral,I believe, is the first lego figure ever to have a double sided face. So He's important for the history of Lego and he is an important villainas character in the original movie. But I feel like there are so manyother characters that could have gotten gold figures and they gave one to coral over, I don't know, like serious black. That's just one character, or maybeDRACO malfoy. I don't know, man. It feels very weird tome that quarrel is one of the nine characters that got an anniversary figure. The rest of the figures include with this set here one there's no Harry Potter, which they are very few like a Harry Potter sets. It did notinclude Harry Potter and Harry Potter is in this scene in the movie, soit's kind of weird that he's not included with this set. But you doget a young version of Neville long bottom, a young version of DRACO malfoy andthen Madame hoops here, who was a little bit different from the pack. She came in earlier in like two eighteen nineteen, I believe, forBricktober, and she looks very good and has a great double sided face.So the figures are good. It's just weird to not include Harry Potter. Now the build of this set here is a small exterior piece of hogwarts. There's some transparent clear rods to make the figures look like they're flying on broomsticksand you do get a number of broomsticks included here. And you also getall of the quidditch gear, including like the snatch and all the budger's andquaffolds and all that fun stuff. So that is very cool. You alsoget a printed head piece that's a transparent clear color of the remember which,of course, noble holds in the film. That is a great piece included hereand there's an additional figure kind of of the statue that nivel gets kindof caught on with the two swords. That is all cool and the exterioractually looks really good. And the weird thing is this is in the styleof the other hogwarts sets. This set is the style of the two thousandand eighteen to two thousand and twenty hogwarts sets and can connect to those. It does have removable roofs, but besides that it's not really the style ofthese other new hogwarts sets and doesn't really connect to them in a natural way. So it's very odd to me that...

...this set doesn't fit with these othersets. But it's still under the twenty anniversary line and comes with a twentyanniversary figure. I don't know, very weird inconsistency with this set. Nowthe interior of the set here has a very nice trophy case with James Potter'sname on it, which of course, Harry Potter sees. There's also somestorage as well on the inside and an opening door. So over all apretty solid three dollar set, but it doesn't quite fit with the rest ofthis collection, which makes me slightly more iffy on it very, very bizarreif you ask me. But there is only one more twenty anniversary set thatcomes with gold figures. Before we talk about that, there's another set thatis not include gold figures and it was a recent promotion and that is theGriffin door dorm. Has a hundred and forty eight pieces and it comes withtwo bunk beds, young versions of Harry and Ron that are available in othersets, and you basically get this big eight by eight piece you can putall of the different wizard cards and then there are four wizard cards and ladwith this set. So this essentially is just a fun way to display allof your chocolate frog wizard cards. Besides that, the build is something towrite home about, but it does fit the style of the rest of thesets. So it was a nice addition to add with the overall bigger hogwartsthing. And this would have been a pretty solid twenty dollar set and endedup being a very solid promotional set as well. And this set that Ibought to get that promotional set is one of the biggest, like a HarryPotter sets of all time and that is the hogwarts icons collectors. Addition atwo hundred and fifty dollar set with three thousand and ten pieces. This setis really weird and it's hard set to describe. It's essentially real scale.I think it's guess the way to put it. It is not mini FIGscale. It is almost to scale with like real people from a bunch ofdifferent items from the Harry Potter films that are iconic. Obviously. That's whyit's called hogwarts icons. And there's one main build that is a bunch ofsmaller builds kind of stack on top of each other to make this big display, and then there's a number of side builds. The side builds here oneyou get a brick built chocolate frog. That looks very cool and I reallydo love the design. You get a brick built version of Harry Potter's glasses. They don't have lenses but you can wear them, which is really fun. You get a small little vial of Felix fellecies, which is a courseappears in Harry Potter and the half blood prints. Very cool little piece includedthere. And then you get four different kind of potions included here. Oneof them is pologue potion. You also get Gillie will weed and a coupleof other ingredient potions that are kind of weird because they are like transparent clearbottles with stickers on them and you put a bunch of stud pieces inside tolook like liquid. That is very interesting. And then the main build here isthe bottom base of it, is Tom ridle's diary, which is apretty cool design. They make really good use of some pieces to give itkind of that like book page esthetic. On the diary is a brick builtversion of Harry POTTER'S ICONIC WAND. That is very cool. And then alsoon that build you can have a hogwarts scarf kind of appearing underneath it andthey give you options to make the scarf and whatever color your house is.So I'm a Raven Claw, so I built mine and kind of the grayand blue color, but of course you can do it in Griffin doorsill therein our hobble puff as well. So that is a cool customizable play feature. So you get that. On top of the diary you get two morebooks secked up. One is kind of dark blue and gray, the otherone is dark red and dark Tan. There is kind of like a littlecrate where you can hold those potions I mentioned before, which is neat andthen there's also a small brick built golden snitch kind of flying off to theside and the main build is a large...

...version of head wig in brick builtform. Now, yes, a couple of years ago, I said itwas just last year between twenty the did make that other brick built version ofHEADWIG. This one is very different. It is much, much bigger andlooks a lot less mechanical than that version. Does Not have the fun wing playfeature, but it has a great head design that can move three hundredsixty degrees and there are lots of points of articulation throughout his tail, wingand his legs and it looks very, very cool. And he is holdinga hogwarts acceptance letter, which are those big eight by sixteen plates that hassome nice exclusive prints on them and it says dear blank. So I guessyou can write your own name and I'm not going to day my fine legopiece by right in my name in but it is an option and it hasall the text printed on there in the bottom it has professor mcgonagall's signature. That is all very cool. So a really cool big Ming Bill. Thisis on top of my Harry putter shelf and it looks very neat. Butone of the main reasons I got this set is to complete the twenty anniversarycollection of Harry Potter minifigures. You get three different gold figures in this set. You Get mcgonagall, you get Haggrid and you get professor Dumbledore. Nowdumbledore has his own version of basically what looks like the chocolate frog card inthe movie, built up in three dimensions and Lego form. And they alsoinclude an extended giant display base for all these figures. So if you haveall the other figures from other sets, you can put all nine on thisbase for one big long display and it looks pretty sweet. In my opinion. Is Death are going to be one of like the headland displays for myLego Harry Potter collection. So that is very, very cool. And thisset overall was a really fun build, a very unique build. I don'tlove this kind of stuff as compared to mini figure scale stuff, but overall I still think it is extremely cool. And that is it for the twentyanniversary of Lego Harry Potter sets. What do you think about this collection? Lego went all out. They gave us a ton of cool stuff forlego Harry Potter this year and I had a lot of fun collecting it andrecording this episode.
