LEGO Marvel Eternals

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

It's another Marvel episode of Brickology; Lee is discussing the LEGO sets based on the latest entry in the MCU with Eternals! While the movie has seen an unprecedented divide between critics in terms of reviews, Lee articulates how the wave of LEGO sets might be one of the biggest, and best LEGO has ever created for a Marvel film.

Good morning, good afternoon, goodevening, whenever wherever you are listening. Thank you so much for making mea part of your day. My name is Lee Palmy. Might know meas Lego Lee or Lego le three to nine from facebook, instagram, twitter, Youtube, Pagerney, name it, I'm all over the Internet and thisis the brick Ology podcast, the study of small plastic breaks. How areyou doing today? I sincerely hope you're having an absolutely fantastic day. Andthis is my second attempt at recording this podcast. All of my technology isjust giving up on me this weekend. I have absolutely no explanation for what'shappening. The microphone I've used for the past you podcast, that I've thoughthas sounded very good, has just completely given out. So I went backto my less convenient, older style of recording a recording on my camera withmy fancy road microphone for that camera, and that decided to give out.So now I'm literally just recording this on voice memos and I don't want tobecause voice memos is not super high quality. I can work some adobe audition editingmagic and make it sound okay, but for the most part this isnot super professional and out the way that I want to record my podcast. But I want to record my podcast and this is pretty much my only optionat this point in time. And then I think after this weekend I wouldn'tbegin looking for some more professional podcast recording equipment. But right now I'm alittle bit frustrated because I also recorded my entire review of eternals for my areyou not podcast last night and that is when the first set of issues cameup with my microphone problems, so I lost over an hour of great contentfor that podcast. I lost about fifteen minutes of this episode and I couldhave salvaged it, but then I listened to the audio and it was terribleand I don't want the episode to sound Super Inconsistent, so I'm just rerecording the whole thing, which is very frustrating. So I'm not in agreat mood right now. I also don't know if I got food poisoning lastnight or not. I do feel very weird, like my stomach is justvery rumbly today. So all in all, not doing great. However, thisis brick ology and I'm always excited to record brick ology because I getto share my biggest passion in the world, which is a course Lego, andthis is Lego Times a movie, and it's a movie from a franchisethat is one of my all time favorite franchises in the mcu. So thisis a very exciting episode of Brick Ology and if you listen to last week'sHalloween special episode of Brick Ology, in that episode I kind of laid thegroundwork for my plans for this podcast for the rest of Twenty and twenty youone and season six of the show. More announcements on that is that there'sa couple of episodes I want to do that I haven't mentioned already, butthey are very topical and I think they'd be fun and easy for me torecord. That I think I'm just going to go ahead and do at somepoint in time. Now those episodes I'm not going to tell you what theyare. I want to keep them a surprise and you will find out whenthey eventually get published, but they are very topical. So if you lookup some things that are coming out and more specifically some things that are celebratinganniversaries week, wink, you might be able to put together what those episodeswill be. And then, of course, I already mentioned, there's going tobe some awesome spider man related content coming this December in honor of thenew spider man film. So those are all the announcements for brick. I'llg out of the way real quick. I need to shamelessly plug myself herefor just a minute. Go find me online, facebook, instagram, twitter, Youtube, Patreon, you name it. Like I say, I'm all overthe Internet. It's at Lego Lee or Lego lead through to nine onany of those various platforms. Additionally, if you want to hear more fromme, I have two other podcasts. I have the very manly muppet showthat I host what the Buddy of mine, and we of course talk about shockerthe muppets, and then I have the aforementioned are you not podcast, where I talk about new movies, TV shows and sometimes music, fun popculture related stuff. Go check all those out. And one more thing.Whatever streaming service you are listening please hit me with a follow if you're listeningon spotify and if you are a subscriber on apple podcast, or if you'renot, please subscribe. Thank you. One Apple podcast listeners. I recentlycheck my analytics for Apple podcast and there's like six thousand people that have listenedto brick ecology on apple podcast. Now, that's not a lot compared to thelike thirty five thousand people that have listened on spotify. However, sixthousand is no number to scoff at, and that is like one eighth ofmy listener base approximately. So thank you,...

...apple podcast listeners. I don't giveyou guys enough love. And if you do like the show and youare listening on Apple Podcast, I would love it if you would one ofcourse, subscribe, but also give me a rating out of five stars andwrite a written review. I would love to hear your feedback about this show. All right, announcements out of the way, let's jump in and talkabout Legos, newest Marvel superheroes, wave of sets from eternals. eternals, what is eternals? If you don't really know, I don't completely blame youfor that. Well, you probably should know by now with the release ofthe film, but if you're not familiar with the eternal source material, youare definitely in the majority. It is a very obscure marvel comic and,as is tradition here on brick Ology, before I talk about a license theme, I usually like to talk about the license itself and what the source materialis for these lego sets that I'm about to break down. And of coursethis is from the marvels to the Magic Universe, which one I feel likeI disrespected the mcu here on brick ology for like a year and a halfof the beginning of this podcast, the first like fifty episodes or so,the only mcu topic I had was about Black Panther, and even that episodewas only because of Chadwick Boseman's tragic passing and for some reason I just nevertalked about the mcu. And then I reached a point where I was likeBro, like you love the mcu, you have all these sets. Whyon Earth are you not talking about them? On Brick Ology and then I feellike since then I've been trying to play some ketchup with the mcu hereand brick ology. So I did black widow when that movie came out,I did what if when that show came out. I just did shun sheafter that movie came out, and now we're doing eternals and, like Isaid, there is some spider man content coming out next month, so I'mdefinitely playing some serious catch up with the mcu and this, I think,is going to be probably the most interesting mcu episode I have done to date. But getting back towards what the eternals are with the source material is itis a comic book from the Nineteen s that is created by Jack Kirby. Now, if you don't recognize Jack Kirby's name, that's kind of unfortunate becausehe is a very influential person in the history of marvel and even some ofDC comics as well. But I kind of equite him to being like theSteve Wozniak of Marvel. So essentially my comparison here is you have Steve Jobs, the guy who created apple, and then Steve Wozniak is like right handman who did a lot of stuff for apple as well, and then SteveJobs kind of got all the credit and cheated wisniac out of some parts ofthe company. And people still recognize Wasniak as being very, very, youknow, influential, but he's not nearly as rich and famous as Steve Jobswas before his tragic passing. Same thing kind of goes with Stan Lee,who all of you know because of his cameos in these marvel movies and whatnot, and then with Jack Kirby. Not Both Jack Kirby and Stanley are dead, rest in peace to the legends. But Jack Kirby had some controversies withmarvel and kind of the rights to what the characters he's created and whatnot. But the eternals are completely his baby. He created the eternals and it hasJack carby written all over it. It's this psychedelic s science fiction, heavysci fi sort of comic book line that is very unique and different. Nowmy experience with the eternals is not much like for the most part, whenmarvel announces a new movie, I usually am mostly familiar with the properties theyare adapting and I have a decent baseline knowledge, like even guardians of thegalaxy or recently, like shun she. Those are characters that, like,I had heard of, like I knew who grew and rocket raccoon were beforethey announced that movie. I knew who shun she was before they announced thatfilm. When they announced the eternals I was like, Oh yeah, Ithink I've heard of them, and I believe you know, after maybe seeingguardians the galaxy that for the first time and researching the celest duels or afterseeing the first avengers movie and researching fan of some I came across mentions ofthe eternals because they are intertwined with a lot of storylines for other kind ofcosmic characters within the marvel comics universe. So I was vaguely familiar with thename eternals and I recognize some of the artwork for the eternals from the comicbooks. However, I couldn't have told you a single name of any ofthe characters, what their powers were or...

...really what their back story was.So this is definitely the most unfamiliar with a Comic Book Line I have everbeen going into a marvel movie and honestly that kind of thing gets me excitedbecause it's like all right, like I just don't know what's going to happen. I don't really know what this movie is going to be about. Andobviously this is an mcu movie. So I was there day one. Iget hyped out of my mind for anything in see you, and there wastons of internal, not eternal, internal hype about this movie. Kevin Feiggiwas really hyping it up and then then basically every single announcement they made. All this movie is like one. Chloe Zaw, who went on to winan Oscar for the movie nomad land last year, was the director. Sowe have like a super high pedigree director for this movie. And then theyannounced the cast, and I'll talk about the fantastic actors that are in thismovie when I get to their mini figures in their respective sets. So youhad this amazing director, this amazing cast, a huge budget, this crazy sourcematerial, and everything seemed like it was coming together for an extremely excitingmovie. And then movie premiered a few weeks ago and it got mixed reviews, and this mixed reviews eventually turned into kind of negative reviews, where it'ssitting at like fifty some odd percent on Ron Tomatoes, becoming the first rottenmovie in the mcu. And now I do think some mcu movies like thorthe dark world were keptain. Marvel or the incredible hulk probably should have beenrotten. I'm not really sure why they weren't. They had a little bitmore leeway. Maybe because there weren't quite as many great comic movies when thosecame out. So those movies, in my opinion, definitely could have beenrotten, but this was the first one that actually physically got that rotten critic, Scar Mon tomatoes, which kind of temper my expectations going into the filmand Frankly, I left this movie kind of confused at the negativity across allthe reviews. I was like, Dang, I really like that move it.Didn't love the movie. I wouldn't say it's my favorite marvel movie.I definitely think there were some pacing issues and some of the characters weren't superwell developed, but for the most part I was enthralled in the mythology andI thought everything was super cool. As an absolutely gorgeous film and I dowant to review this movie on my are you not podcast. I will hearsoon. Of course I'll have to unfortunately re record the entire day thing.I had such a great review. It's one of those things like no one'sever going to hear because it completely glitched out on me. But I recordedover an hour of great content reviewing this movie and no one's ever going tohear and I feel like my next recording is not going to be nearly asgood, but I will get around to review this movie at some point.Hopefully in the next week or so. But over all my brief thoughts areI was really into this movie and I don't quite understand why so many peopleweren't. Now I'll kind of pivoting back towards the wave of Lego Marvel eternalsets before I talk about this sets themselves specifically. I'm going to talk aboutsome weird little details here about these sets, starting off with their reveal, orrather inadvertent reveal by Lego. Now these sets, obviously the movie well, came out this past weekend on November Five, two thousand and twenty one. Shocker, the movie was delayed an entire year. I was supposed tocome out in November of twenty twenty, but got delayed an entire year becauseof the COVID nineteen pandemic. That's very normal for movies these days and it'svery interesting looking at Lego sets based off modern movies now and when the setsactually come out. Because of covid nineteen, the release dates for a lot ofthings have been shuffled around, like legitimately minions. The rise of grewis not coming out until two thousand and twenty two, and we got thewave of those sets of there the first half of the wave of those setsin two thousand and twenty like two years before that movie is actually coming out. So just weird things like that are happening with Lego and their ways.We just got the wave, in North America at least, for the Batmansets with Robert Pattinson, and that movie doesn't come out for another five months, until March of two thousand and twenty two. And some of the marvelsets had been affected as well, like the Shong chief sets came out inApril, but the movie came out in September's there was like a four orfive month difference in between the release of the sets and the film. However, internal has had a super normal release Dick. These sets came out onOctober first two thousand and twenty one and the movie came out no number five, so just slightly over a month before the movie, and that seems likea very normal release date. However, these sets were unofficially revealed at thebeginning of the year. Lego actually put them in the marvel section of theirshop at home catalog that we all got sent to our houses in the magazineform, and you saw the sets there and they had not been officially revealedby Lego. There's no US released for them or anything. And even thoughthey accidentally leaked these sets and their own catalog, Lego didn't do an effisierreveal until like, I don't know,...

August or September of this past year. So bizarre to me that we had pictures for these sets for almost anentire year before they actually came out and Lego never really acknowledged the fact thatthey did a big oopsees themselves and revealed these sets before they were even supposedto be released. That's a fun weird little detail about the eternals Lego sets. We saw the sets well before any posters or footage or actual pictures fromthe movie, which is so interesting to me. Now there's also one interestingcomponent about the eternal sets that I want to mention, and that there isfor eternals sets. Now that's a big wave for one marvel movie right offthe Bat, and I'm going to go through briefly the history of Lego Marvelset movie tie ends, when those movies came out and how many sets eachmovie got individually. And it's honestly a weird and inconsistent number. That makesthe four sets we got four eternals, seemed very bizarre in my opinion. So while the mcu of course began with iron man all the way back intwo thousand and eight and like of actually just made an iron man set intwo thousand and twenty one, we're not going to talk about sets that weremade after the year the movie was released, because Lego has now gone back andkind of filled in some of the gaps with their like Infinity Saga sets. We will not be talking about those sets. Were owing going to talkabout the sets that kind of coincided with the release of the movie. Sothe first wave we ever got from Lego Marvel superheroes is the avengers in twothousand and twelve, and there were five sets that came out at that timeand then there were three weird like bionical style buillabil figure sets. One ofthe five brick built sets was actually based off the xmen comics. The otherfour were based off of the avengers movies. So for for Avengers in two thousandand twelve, for some reason they skipped for the dark world and theyskipped Captain America, that winter's soldier very odd, but iron man three intwo thousand and thirteen got three sets. Fast forward a year later, guardiansthe Galaxy got three sets and two thousand and fourteen, a year later, avengers age of ultron got six sets. So the biggest wave up to thispoint in two thousand and fifteen, and the other two thousand and fifteen marvelmovie a man got one singular set. In Two thousand and sixteen, CaptainAmerica civil war started off with a spring wave of three sets, and thenin August that same year they were released a fourth set that had spider man, which was kind of considered a spoiler at that point in time. Sotechnically, since those were the same year, I'll say that Captain America civil wargot or sets. In two thousand and sixteen doctors. Strange the othertwo thousand and sixteen marvel movie got just one singular set. The next year, for two thousand and seventeen, the first time marvel released three different moviesin a year. Guardians the galaxy volume two got three sets. Meanwhile spiderman homecoming, surprisingly to me, a new spider man movie, only gottwo sets, and then Thora ragner rock only got two sets as well. But I was happy to get Thora Ragnar Rock set because we didn't get anysets from thor of the dark world. Two Thousand and eighteen, which sawsome humongous releases for of the Marvel Cinemac Universe. We had Black Panther, which was a huge movie, but it only got two sets. Avengers infinitywar, obviously one of the biggest marvel moods of all time. That gota full six set way and that's probably one of the best marvel superheroes wavesthey have ever created. And then the third movie for two thousand and eighteen, ant man in the wasp, only got one set, again kind oflike the last aunt man film, Captain Marvel, the first two thousand andnineteen marvel movie, also only got one set. AVENGERS in game. Ithink the first wave of avengers in game sets is very kind of notorious becausethe sets just don't really appear in the movie. They're very inaccurate and don'tmake a whole lot of sense. It got five sets technically, and Legohas kind of redeemed that with the Infinity Saga sets this past summer, butwe don't really count that and I'm excited at some point in time to talkabout this, the travesty that is the horrible initial wave of Lego Marvel superheroessets based off avengers end game. Spider man far from home that same yeargot three individual pretty good sets, and then this past year, obviously blackwidow was supposed to come out in two thousand and twenty. So the firstblack widow set did come out in two thousand and twenty and that was theonly normal black widows set. I'm not counting like the common kind of exclusivestuff for this list. So there was only one real black widow set andthen shown she the most recent episode we did for like a marvel superheroes thatonly got two sets in a poly bag. And now we're here at eternals withfour different sets. Now for is a pretty high number. The highestmark on this list is six. That both age of ultron and Infinity Warhit and it makes a lot of sense...

...that we would get a ton ofsets for an avengers movie. There's a ton of stuff to make from thosefilms. That makes sense. When you look at for that is higher thanboth the Guardians of the galaxy movies. That is tied with Captain America CivilWar, which is one of the biggest marvel movies that ever made. Thatis tied with the first avengers movie. I mean seriously, this got moresets than iron man three. That's got more sets than both of these spidermay movies. This got more sets than Black Panther and this wave has thesame amount of sets as Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange and both of the antimemovies combined. Really Crazy to me that this movie got so much love fromLego, and I'm not complaining. Like I'm not complaining about getting more sets, but it's also kind of frustrating because I look back on other movies andthings they could have made from said films and I wish they had made moresets for other movies in the past. And it's very odd to me that, like shun, she only got two sets. I think they could havemade some amazing sets, and they made for sets for that wave, buthere we are with eternals with for different sets. Very bizarre. This moviein particular got such a big wave for lego marvel superheroes. And now allof that stuff out of the way, let's jump in and talk about theLego eternal sets themselves. Now I'm going to say something I'm not going tospoil, like the specifics of the plot. I'm not going to give away theafter credit scenes or the twists and reveals and the conclusion of the story. However, I will be alluding to some of the scenes that these setsare based off of, which could be considered very, very minor spoilers.I think most of the stuff has been revealed in the trailers, so you'regoing to be safe with me, but just be warned there is like aslight chance that a minor detail is spoiled for you. Okay, getting thatout of the way, let's talk about the first set from this wave, which is called eternals aerial assault. This is a ten yes, a tendollar set with one hundred and thirty three pieces. Ten Bucks, a tendollar set. I love that. I absolutely love that. Leg It doesnot make ten dollars sets that much anymore and most of them are like dumbpower up packs for Super Mario or like small Lego city sets. A tendollar Lego Marvel Superhero set. That's like unheard of. It's so bizarre andweird and I love that because when I was a kid, ten dollar setsfor the dream, because it's like I didn't have that much money and Iwould save up to get ten books and if I was able to buy aLego set with ten dollars, I was very satisfied and I love the factthere is a ten dollar set from this wave and I hope more lego marvelsuperheroes waves moving forward have really small, affordable, cheap sets like this one. This set here includes two different minifigures. First here is a chorus who hasa great torso and leg print. Leg Printing is a key thing forthis wave. Pretty much every figure has a leg print and I've complained alot about lego marvel superheroes figures not having leg prints. So having like printsfor a pretty much all the characters here in this wave is a fantastic aspectthat I love about the Lego eternal set. As for a chorus, he isplayed by the actor Richard Madden and this figure uses the Han Solo faceand he does have laser vision in the movie, but the face is nothave laser vision because it's Hans Solos face. Shocker, and then they give hima ginger hairpiece, the same kind of hairpiece they use for like starLord and I hate it. It's not accurate at all. Richard Madden islike very, very dark hair. Actually gramatic has a little bit touch ofgray in his hair as well, but he's got very like Brunette hair andit's very clear from the concept are that he has brunette hair. And Ihave absolutely no idea how Lego mess this up, because no other character hasan inaccurate hair color in this entire wave. And then just icorous here for somereason just has ginger hair when he should have been a Brunette and hecomes in three sets. So that's gets a little bit annoying. So greattorso leg print. Very underwhelming face and hair combination. The next character hereis spright. She's the only one that actually does not have leg printing becauseshe actually has a short leg piece. I think she probably could have warrantedmaybe having mid legs. I think short legs is a little bit odd tome. I would have liked to have seen mid legs and then they couldhave printed said mid legs the short legs. I get it because she is soyoung, but at the same time it doesn't look as good because theynever actually print anything on the short leg piece. But her torso printing doeslook great. Her face print is reused, I believe, from Harry Potter, but it's fine and Harry pair piece. It's boring but it does work forthis character. So overall, almost a great sprite mini figure and sheis completely exclusive to this set. and...

Leah mck the actress who played spritein the movie, did a very good job of holding her own against somereally credible adult performers. So shout out to her and over all, apretty good Lego minifigure representation of her. As well as for the build ofthis set, it's one thing and that is a flying deviant. Now whatis a deviant, you may ask, if you have not seen the moviein particular, deviance are kind of the bad guys with these movies. They'rethese predatorial creatures with some weird backstory. Lord that kind of ties in withthe eternals, and the reason the eternals are on earth in the first placeis to fight said deviance and they kind of shape shift to take the formsof different creatures. Really Cool, interesting creature designs in the movies. Ithought they were very cool and looked very cool and had some very bizarre colorsin the film and the colors in the movie don't really exist in Lego form. So lego had to improvise and kind of mix a few of their existingcolors. And here are the colors they ended up mixing to create the colorscheme for the deviance. Dark Blue, dark red, black, teal, mint, green and gold. That is one of the weirdest color schemes youare ever going to hear in your entire life and it does look a littlebit strange. It does feel a little bit like a hodgepodge. It's sometimes, but the same time I think it works out pretty well and when Ilook at them I'm like, you know what, I can dig it.I like it and it does look pretty interesting. Some of the gray elementsthey use, for like joints, I think, stick out just a littlebit like a sort of thumb. But besides that I think it's very welldone. Now moving back to this specific deviant character. It is a wingeddeviant. The wings are quite impressive and actually use this kind of new, like weird wing feathered looking piece. It's used on all the other deviant charactersthat is in kind of a glittery, opaque, transparent color. Very, very cool. I like that quite a bit. As for the rest ofthis devant build, it's a very skinny creature using mixel ball joints, lotsof articulation but not a lot of substance with it. It does have anice printed face that's kind of jackal looking, even though they don't really allude thatin the movie, it does kind of look like a jackal. Therest of the body great playability functions with all the articulation, but it's notthe greatest thing looking esthetically speaking. Overall it looks okay, but it's verysmall and this set was very small and getting just a ten dollar set witha decent size build was nice to see. As for the accuracy of this basedoff the movie, the box depicts this in the Amazon setting which isseen in the trailers, and it's very accurate to the scene from the movie. You see at the end of the second trailer, the final trailer forthis movie, icorous fighting. This said deviant flying, and they did agood job representing that and including two characters that were in the scene. However, in the scene, chorus and sprite are not wearing their like official eternalscostumes. They are wearing street clothes, so that is not entirely accurate, but besides that, a pretty accurate set and I love the fact that wegot a ten dollar small set from this wave. Moving on to another relativelysmall set for twenty five dollars with one hundred and ninety seven pieces. Noclue why this set is twenty five books. There's no reason this sit not tobe twenty dollars, but whatever, that is a complete mystery to me. This is the deviant ambush, with an exclamation point actually on the nameof the set. The figures included here are Theena, who was Angelina Jolie'scharacter. Cool to get her and Lego figure form. After all her yearsin the industry, this figure is almost great. The torsum like bringing hisgreat the hair piece works pretty well. The face print, I think, works, but it is reused and in the movie she has kind of likea crown esque design and that is not printed on her face. So Ithink Lego missed the mark there. But she does use an existing Lego Ninjagoblade piece, which I actually think looks pretty cool. So overall, amostly really good then a character. The next character here is mccary, whohas a brand new hairpiece. Honestly not necessary. It could have used thatlike slave lay a hair piece. I think it word of work pretty well. But a brand new hairpiece and a fantastic looking new face print, greatTarsa light printing as well. This is one of the most complete figures inthe entire line. I have really no complaints. They went all out withthis macari figure, which is odd because I would say she has the leastamount of screen time of any of the eternals in the movie, and shewasn't like a bad actor anything. She shouldn't have all the much development. She had some cool powers like she was, you know, the flash levels offast, but besides that, not...

...a super interesting character. So areally great figure for a a rather mediocre character if you ask me. Andfinally, we also have the character of Gilgamesh, who was only in thisset, played by Don Lee, the guy from train to Bason in thefilm. Loved Him in the movie and he is very cool. His printingis very good. He has his brand new kind of fiery fist piece thatI like quite a bit that a lot of people are theorizing might be usedfor the Captain Marvel character. Not that ket of Marvel, the Miss Marvelcharacter from next year when her show and Disney plus for mirrors. That willbe very interesting to see. I think his face print is good. Ithink his hairpiece isn't super accurate. I would have liked to have seen maybea shorter hairpiece for him, but besides that, a very good looking figureand a good selection of figures for this set. As for the build ofthis set, it's another deviant that's honestly even more bizarre and shape than thelast one. This one has four kind of curved small legs at the backattached with Mixel ball joints, and then at the front on there are twobig legs, but also kind of look like gorilla fist arms, which arevery interesting looking and are basically used to prop this entire thing up. Andthen it's head has a mouth and some big old horns and in some kindof spikes at its back and of course it uses those same kind of glitterytransparent pieces and the weird color scheme and overall a very unique build and it'sreally accurate to the movie, like the scene in the movie that's see onthe box of just said, I believe in Babylon in the film. Yousee this deviant and I look closely and he has the exact right number oflegs, he has the big rilla arms, he has the horns. Leko actuallycompletely nailed the design of this character and all the eternals in this setwere in this scene and they were wearing the accurate outfits that you get inthis set. So that is very, very cool. So overall, Idon't know why that says twenty five bucks. It should have been just twenty. It's five dollars overpriced forgiving that it's extremely accurate set that depicts a scenevery well from the film. Getting bigger, we have the sixty dollar set fromthis line with four hundred and ninety three pieces, known as in Orisham'sshadow. This had included the figures. Here one of ICARUS, the exactsame figure. From the smallest set we have our first appearance of Jim andChan's character, circie. Kind of weird to me that she only comes intwo sets because because she is pretty much the lead of this film, meanwhilechorus comes in three different sets. It's also weird the main character doesn't comein the smaller sets. She comes in the bigger set. So if youwant to get a Sarshey figure, your minimum price for a set is goingto be sixty bucks. She has a great tor show and great leg printand a pretty good hairpiece. Her face, I don't know something about her face. Look. Jim and Shannon is an Asian actress and they have useda different skin tone for other Asian people in the past with Lego figures, even in this wave with Gilgamesh or like Wong from Dr Strange and spider manlike. They have a different skin tone, but for some reason with Jim andChan here they didn't do that. It's the same thing they did withthe Shaung Chi figures and I'm just like, Lego, you need to be consistentwith your Asian skin tone. It's very odd to me that she justhas like would be considered like the normal white skin tone for a lego figure. That doesn't really work all too well for me. So not a bigfan of that. But moving beyond that, she is a very good looking minifigure. I think the face print works out pretty well. I justwish it was a different skin color. Moving on to the next character inthe set that is exclusive here is the character of a Jack, played bySamahayak. She's kind of like the mom of the eternals, the leader ofthe bunch, and she's a very good looking figure. From her torso legface print and I do love the one or one hair piece here in black. However, again in the movie she mostly wears this very elaborate headdress piece. It would have had to be in a brand new mold, but theymade new molds from maccari's hair and for Gilgamesh's fisthand, so wouldn't have beenlike completely out of the question. And they didn't do it. They didn'tmake a new mold here and it makes the figure look definitely inaccurate when comparingget to the character from the film. So not crazy about that. Butoverall, everything else looks good about this figure. And finally, we havethe character of Kingo, my personal favorite character from the movie, played bythe incomparable Kumel NNIANNI. He is hilarious in the film. I love thisman and the figure is fantastic. It's such a goodlooking figure. TORs unlikeprint, awesome brand new face print that...

...really captures Kummel's essence, and ithas a raised eyebrow. I love that so much. His air pieces generic, but it works pretty well for this character and over all this character mightbe the most complete of all the eternals male characters, and I would sayMakari is the most complete of the female characters. I am definitely a bigfan of this kingo figure. Moving on from the figures, let's talk aboutthe build of this set, or builds of this set, because you geta very small side build of a deviant, super random small thing thrown in withthis set and it's pretty much the same deviant as the one in theten dollar set. It's just smaller, like it's a lot smaller than thatversion, and it has less articulation. Still has the cooling pieces and doesn'tlike look bad. It just kind of feels random including it in this set. I wasn't really entirely sure why it was included here. So that feelslike somewhat of a throwaway build. But I also kind of have a thesisas to why there are some kind of random deviance in these sets that I'lltalk about later towards the end of this episode. The main build here isArusham, who is the celestial. Now, celestials were first alluded to in guardiansthe galaxy they show a clip of a celestial when they're explained the infinitystones in the power stones and also nowhere. That entire place is the severed headof a celestial turned into like a planet essentially. So celestials have beenrelevant in the mcu before, but they really get their time to shine inthis movie. And I never thought we'd get a Lego version of a celestialhere, but here we are and they're absolutely massive in the movie. Likeif this worked to be actually to scale with a lego figure, this celestialwould be like the size of like a building. It's literally that's like howbig this thing is in the movie. Obviously Lego is not going to dothat. It is quote unquote downsize, but it's still a pretty big likeit's very, very large bill. This is like a foot tall action likeyour style Lego Build, and it's so well done. It's mostly made indark red with hot pink as an accent. Normally I wouldn't be crazy about likehot pink pieces, but I think they look amazing in this set andthey really bring out the color of the dark red. There's also some transparenthot pink as well, and all that just comes together for me to makethis thing look so, so good and I think overall I love the estheticof this build. And let's kind of break it down here, kind oflike how I used to review my bionicle sets. I'd always go from themwhat I call the bottom up. But he look here the feet, herethe legs, here's the torso, here the arms, here's the head.I'll kind of do a similar vibe here, and building something like this definitely remindedme of building like a classic biocle set in some ways, which isalways extremely nostalgic for me. So first off, the legs. I wentto the legs are a little bit wobbly. I don't love that. It's alittle bit top heaving. The legs are kind of hard to pose itsometimes, so that's not one of my favorite aspects here. But does haveknee joints, very small knee joints that don't bend too much, but LegoMechs or brick built figures oftentimes don't have knee joints. So does a breadthof fresh air to see some here. And it does have some cool designs. There is an overreliance on stickers, which I don't love, but besidesthat it does look very good. The torso is a great shape, lotsof cool different angles. I love that, and it does even include a lightbrick in the center of the Torso. Now, Lego light bricks have prettymuch been one color for a very long time and that color is kindof a transparent orange and I don't understand it's make them like a white lightif they were a white light brick, it would shine through the pink pieceon his chest, but since it's an orange light brick, it just lightsup orange, which isn't really one of his colors. So I wish theliebric were a different color, but I also do love getting light brick. That makes sets very fun and the definitely brings out the energy of this celestialcharacter for me, so that is really cool. The arms are probably themost underwhelming looking part of this design. They do have lots of articulation, which is Great. You also can move the fingers individually and there is kindof a place where you can hold an eternal character in the hands of thischaracter, which is very cool. And it does have some stud shooters, which is very unnecessary, but whatever. It's for the Kiddo's to play with. Arms. Nothing right home about, but I do love these shoulder pads, which are designed very well to not impede with the articulation of this figure. The shoulder pads do look very cool. And finally, of course, thehead. The head looks great. There's an awesome and super creative designto make the esthetic of his six eyes. I love the little tweaks in theasymmetry of the head and the head, of course, has a lot ofarticulation with a mixel style ball joint as well. Overall, wonderful build. I love the look of this build.

It's so unique, it's so differentand I thought Urushem was super cool in the movie, so getting himin Lego form is definitely exciting for me. Love this set and you guys lovethis set as well, because this was voted the best eternal set.Honestly, I thought the next set are about to talk about what actually winthat contest, but it didn't. This was voted the best set from theeternal so that is very interesting. As for accuracy to the film, thesign of Eversham looks incredibly accurate. Like so Furio, it looks pretty muchjust like the character from the movie, the whole deviant thing and the charactersincluded here. Those weren't like exactly in scenes with our USHEM in the movie, but those things do appear in the movie, so it's like sort ofaccurate and I can kind of forgive it and Le Goes. Obviously going toinclude some figures with this sort of set. So overall, very accurate set andjust a really cool set in general. Finally, last but not least, for the marvel superheroes eternals way from Lego, we have the ninety dollar, one tho and forty piece set called rise of Domo. Now this is, by peace count, not by price, but by peace count, the biggestinitial lego marvel wave superhero set ever, technically speaking, the sanctum sanctorum andthe compend battle from avengers in game. Those sets were more expensive, thosewere one hundred dollars sets, but this set as more pieces. Sovery weird to me. The biggest piece count for any normal lego Marvel Superheroset comes from this movie. Now, obviously like the new version of theBen Attar from the Infinity Saga. That said as much bigger than this set. However, for an initial wave, not like a remake wave. Thisis the biggest set they have ever done in terms of peace count, whichis wild to me. Now here are the figures included with this set.For figures are repeats CERCI, Makari, ICARUS and Thema. Those figures allcame in cheaper sets. There are two exclusive characters in this set in particular. One is Fastos, who is played by Brian Tyree Henry. Great characterin the movie and a very cool figure design. Great Torso, great legprint, great face print. Maybe they could have added some glasses for him, but besides that, really good looking character. And finally is Druig, played by Barry Cut Nigg. I don't remember how to pronounce his last name. In the film he's probably the most boring costume of all of the eternalsbecause it's basically just like black and dark red. It's kind of hard tosee what the Lego figure is accurate and his face print is boring. IsHair pieces boring? But you know what, they're accurate to the movie. He'snot like a super interesting looking person in the film. So two veryaccurate figures and that rounds off all of our eternals. Characters, which isvery cool. Of course, he had to buy all four sets to completethe collection, because Lego is sneaky like that. But moving on to thebuilds of this set, you actually get two different deviants in this set.The first one is what I call the dog one. It looks like adog thing and this is by far the worst build out of any of thefour Lego eternal sets. It's like oddly Chunky. It feels like a buildfrom like two thousand and eight or something to me. It just does nothold up to me. It looks weird, the proportions aren't great. I don'tparticularly love it and I don't think it was needed in this set.Again, I'm going to give my thesis as to why they kind of shoeworn some of these deviant builds into these eternal sets after I'm done talking aboutthis set in particular. The other Devan here is crow, who is theleader of the devance kind of. I won't spoil his storyline of how helike comes to be that in the film. Met Character definit didn't really do allthat much for me in the movie. As for the lego figure, it'sextremely reminiscent of the two thousand and fourteen group build. Basically that buildis brick built using the mixel ball joints and has a specialized headpiece and honestly, I didn't think Lego was going to do too many of these things afterthis point. They did a few of them back in the day. Steppenwolffrom the Justice League wave was kind of similar to this character, and thenwe also had the sentinel from the xmen wave who was very similar in design, and then a couple of different characters came in like next so night sets, but besides that we never really got anything else like that. But it'sbeen kind of brought back in style here with this crow character, who doeshave a new head mold that looks pretty good with the good print. Therest of his details again some stickers,...

...some of the Mixel ball joints areand weird colors that definitely stand out to me, but it's a pretty gooddesign. It's way too big. He really isn't this tall in the movie. He shouldn't be like three times the size of a normal lego figure. But you know what, I can forgive that and overall I think it workedout pretty well. So those are the deviants. Included with this set.Let's move on and talk about the main build of the set here, whichis the Domo. No, not that weird like Brown creature that had weirdteeth and kind of bead eyes. Anybody else remember that thing? I thinkwas called Domo back in the day? This is the eternals flagship. Itis, let me ble recalling at the Dorrito ship, because it is kindof shaped like a Dorito. It's a giant triangle, if you will. It's definitely an unconventional looking spaceship, but it is unique, which I doappreciate, and Lego has some cool building techniques to accomplish the interesting angles ofthis ship here. It's very, very cool. As for the outside detailshere, there's a lot of them as lots of glitterally transparent pieces that reallyadd to the esthetic that I like quite a bit. There's also a numberof stickers used to kind of add the eternals looks, and there are someprinted dish pieces on the top that look good as well. One complaint Ihave is in the movie the ship looks kind of dark green to me andthe Lego version is more dark gray. It's kind of a grayish green,so I can understand why maybe the concept art would have made it look alittle bit more gray and then it was probably refined a little bit in likepost production, but in my opinion I think it's a little bit more greenthan it is gray for the Lego version. The lego version still looks esthetically cool. I don't think they quite nailed the color of the ship, butall the other details are very accurate in shape and the esthetic is very accuratethat it's not like the worst issue in the world. To the outside looksreally good and of course there's some stud shooters on the top. Even thoughthere's ship I don't think ever shoots any lasers in the movie, there aresuch shooters on top of this vessel. Moving onto the interior, a lotof times lego spaceship sets are really cool looking from the outside and there's liketwo seats on the inside and that's it. This is not one of those sets. The interior design for this Dumbo set is phenomenal. The whole thingopens up. The Front Sec Sho has kind of a dish piece that opensup to reveal a cockpit with some very nice sticker control panels and a seatfor a figure now I will say you never really see the cockpit of thisship in the movie, so that's not really something that's accurate. I'm kindof guessing Lego just just made that up, but it makes sense it would havea cockpit. Means someone has to at least put it in an autopilotat some point, so that does make sense, even though you don't reallysee that happen in the film. Moving towards the back, you can openup the main back section and when you open it up, the back wallkind of folds down and it creates that weird can a spiral wire contraction yousee in the trailer. That looks super cool esthetically and it's really creative howLego was able to fit that inside this ship. And then there's two wallson either side that can fold down in different directions. Both of those wallshave storage for weapons for the eternals, which is very cool, and that'saccessories included here. And then there are two more printed dish pieces that canopen up as well at the back of the ship and on one wing ofthe ship you have essentially this section that has some storage for weapons and thenit has this weird little buggy thing. That's a few pieces that a eternalcharacter could a fly around one that was not in the movie. I cango ahead and guarantee that has nothing to the movie. I feel like Ihad a couple extra parts. They're budget. They're like, screw it, let'sthrow that in here for a playability sake. The Middle Section has somegreat floor details, really cool colors for the wall. It's actually all darkgreen on the inside, which is kind of odd because, like I said, this should be an actual dark green ship. It all looks very coolin my opinion. There's even a statue of Arisham, which is accurate. You can see in the trailer, and the way they make his six eyeballsis by using the roller skate piece stacked on top of one another. Lovethat brilliant little design. Moving onto the kind of other side wing of thisship, there's a bunch of random little accessory details and a rotating chair. Now in the movie, you see this in the trailer as well, Maccarihas kind of accumulated a bunch of random stuff inside the ship for herself,so I guess this might be a reference to that. Now, the thingshe has accumulated for herself and the movie is more like books and artifacts. This feels like more technology, like there's...

...a karaoke machine, there's a coffeemachine, there's a metal detector, so kind of weird, not super accurate. There's literally like a video game controller. You don't really see anything quite likethat in this movie. So that's a little bit weird for me,but I don't mind getting these pieces and if you don't like it, itwould be pretty easy to remove and make a more accurate looking version for yourself. So overall, the interior of this thing is freaking phenomenal. You candefinitely fit all ten eternals inside this ship. There is so much interior detail.Bravo Lego. You did a brilliant job with the interior of this set. And Look, so many times Lego has made spaceship sets, big spaceshipsets that don't have good interiors. So it's a breath of fresh air forthis one to have an absolutely massive interior. As for the accuracy of this set, art complaining a little bit about the colors not being super accurate therest of the scene. Here it has the volcanoes, which is kind oftowards the climax of the movie. That is accurate to the film. Andyou also have crow does appear in this scene. The second deviant wasn't reallythere, and this sequence again, I'll give my thesis here in just asecond as to why I think that deving character and other deving characters are kindof thrown into these sets Willie Nilly. And besides that, everything makes sense. Figure why is they do where? They're kind of superhero suit doing theduring this scene in the film. So overall it's a very accurate set forthe most part. Bringing everything together. That is the Lego Marvel superheroes wavefor the eternals. This is, in my opinion, maybe, maybe, just maybe, the most accurate lego marvel superheroes wave ever. There are somenitpicky inaccuracies, but for the most part this is a extremely accurate everything lookslike it does. All these scenes happen in the film, and that iscrazy because leg a marvel superhero sets had been notorious over the years for notbeing accurate and kind of like how this movie subverts normal tropes of a marvelfilm, this wave of Lego sets subverts tropes for lego marvel superheroes waves. The sets include figures with leg printing and some new face pieces, and there'salso accuracy to the film that is very good and there really isn't all thatmuch stuff that I would have liked to have seen. I think maybe aplace set for one of the older settings would have been interesting, and alsoor missing the character of Dane Whitman, played by Kit Harrington. It wouldhave been nice maybe to get that character in this film or get variants ofsome of the eternals that come in multiple sets. Have like street clothed variantsof ICARUS or CERCI or Makari or something. I think that could have been coolas well. But besides that, I think this is a very, very solid set. And finally, I'm now going to get to my theoryabout the weird inclusion of the deviants here. It's very odd to me that there'sliterally a deviant and every single set and by the time you buy allthese sets you have five deviants. That is a lot of deviant for thiswave and I think the reason is there's a shot that you can see inthe trailer where you have like the leader deviant crow assembling like a team ofother deviants, and there are five of them. Now. The versions Legohas made don't perfectly represent the five you see in that scene in the movie, but maybe Lego had some insight information. It's like, Oh, there's gonnabe a team of five deviants and we need to make all five.So it's like you basically can cover all grounds of characters for this its theme. Like you get all the eternals, you get all deviants, you getthe main celestial. The only person missing is pretty much day Whitman and maybethe valet character for Kingo in the film. So that's kind of my theory asto why there are so many defense but overall really solid wave. Ilike the movie a lot and I'm really glad to have all these sets.I think there are very cool and I'm glad there is Kuld of a nicerange for these sets as well and price with some really good big sets andsome good small sets to boot. So that is Lego Marvel superheroes the eternalsis probably the best marvel superheroes episode I have made yet. A pretty decentlength for this wave, and thank you so much for listening to today's episodeof Brick Ology. Hopefully I can get all of my crazy technology figured outhere I'm not sure what's wrong with my tech, but it is definitely kindof making me mad. I will get that figured out here and then yourfuture, look out for some more awesome content coming very soon. Have afantastic rest of your day, week, month, whatever it is for youpiece out, God bless go bye.
